well hurricanes on the east coast have the potential to be bad period because of the elevation in some places. at the moment, there is some flooding going on in Long Island just off of thunderstorms. people there are evacuating because they know, a storm surge would be terrible. that's probably the biggest threat here aside from wind damage to highrise buildings.

I probably shouldn't say this anywhere but here, but we've watched repeatedly lately how this weird circle will be in the clouds over NWGA and it doesn't rain here. I have a theory they are heating up the atmo over us to keep the hurricanes away from Florida, Savannah and the gulf b/c they are so low laying and hve so much expensive real estate right on the beach.

I thought it was funny when it was suggested that the hurricane split, that other posters were like "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature" and stuff about weather manipulation, because, I hate to admit it, but I thought the same thing. It all just seems weird to me. Weather has been weird here since Katrina.

I like how basically every radar of this area conveniently blacks out shortly before the split....

I figure though, it's not like an us or them. I figure what they really want to do is spin the things off the coast entirely. Sorta like playing pool and aiming it off a bumper.

they said we'll barely see the outer band here. no rain, no nothing. that means it'll probably still be super hot. =(
