Did Comet Elenin cause the DC quake?

It's probably the mothership from Independence Day.

I'm pretty sure the Great East Coast Quake of 2011 was caused by some ancient Muslim curse that Muammar al-Gaddafi cast on Washington DC to punish them for supporting the Libyan rebels.

It was just too much of a coincidence.

No! People who think Elenin can wreak havoc on Earth and cause all kinds of disasters don't have the simplest understanding of how gravity works. If Elenin could cause earthquakes and stuff like that, then everytime an asteroid came close to Earth we would be rocked with epic earthquakes.

It is waaaaaaaaaaaay too small to have even the slightest gravitational effect on Earth, and thinking that it can cause earthquakes is just moronic.

Even if Elenin was made of pure platinum, a really dense metal, the Earth would be 8,370,000,000,000,000 times more massive than it. That's comparable to claiming that a single ant located in California caused a person to have a heart attack in New York.

Obviously not. Apparently earthquakes just happen. Case closed.

They have been investigated and proven false, yet the Elenin Zombies refuse to accept it. If you do not want to fearmonger, please stop doing it.

I have finally joined after being here 5 years. The post that made me join was this ELENIN. Finally someone got it. Zoom out. There is an alignment. Zoom out like the man said. Now the next alignment is around the 22nd. Thats before the big one 27th if the coincidences keep happening. Funny thing is nasa now is talking about the Y Brown dwarfs and one of the scientist at Nasa and JPL said just this week. THERE WORDS Its so cool finding these brown dwarfs. cause you know, depending on 500,000 other variables, cme/solar flares can either cause an earthquake or a riot - I didn't see any rioting, so if there was one... process of elimination

NASA shut down the Wise Space Telescope because their country ran out of the cash to pay for it and had what is called a "debt crisis" (just kidding, they said it was a coolant leak that caused the shut down).

I'm not positive but wasn't elenin in line with earth a few days before the quake in virginia? and if I remember correctly there were 4 7.0 quakes around the world around that time, vanuatu and then the quake in virginia followed by a 7.0 in peru. If you look back you can see that these quakes begin when elenin is approaching as its in line and then when its leaving. Im not saying that elenin IS causing these quakes but it appears that there is much more to elenin than we would like to attribute to it. Something is obviously going on with our fragile little planet and if elenin could shed some light on the current problems we have been experiencing I would rather research it and expose it then dismiss it completley because of some conditioned skepticism. Just saying. Have at me people.

The planet was never flat.

People have known that the world was round since prehistoric times. Just because "some people" thought it was flat did not make it so for all.

DJW001 strikes me as the "Thomas" type. "Until I see the wounds, I will not believe".

There is nothing wrong with this approach, but it is very limiting. It certainly stifles creative thinking and being open to certain possibilities.

Actually, you are the one who is assuming too much. All of the hard evidence favors Elenin being exactly what it appears to be, a comet. If something, sinister or dexter, were following it, it would be visible... so where is it?

If there is any trend it would appear to be that large earthquakes - mag 7 and higher - are actually decreasing in number recently - OMG - is Elenin swallowing up our earthquakes?

I would argue you don't have any idea what gravity is either........... Hows that search for the graviton goin? How about the explanation of why gravity is the far weakest of the 4 forces? How about the explination about why there is so much missing "matter" in the universe?

As it would seem, you know about as much as anyone else, and what we know is not the whole story...
