There's a ghost or something living in my house.

Several times I have been doing something in my room, and felt like someone/thing was watching me, then went away. A couple of times, I saw something (don't know what it was).

I told my brother about it, and he said that he thinks that there's someone in our place, and that he had seen it too.

One day I was sitting at my computer, and my mum asked if i had walked through the lounge room, to which I replied no. She then said that who ever it was wasn't wearing any shoes.

I hadn't mentioned about seeing something to her until after she saw it.

As for what it is, I don't know...but it's weird none the less

GHOST??

I have only had two strange events to date that I cannot explain.

When I was sixteen I was walking home from a friends house. The quickest way home was across my school field then across a corn field then follow the main road.

The corn field is about the size of four football pitches with the school on one side, two mains roads on two sides and an old naval fort on the other.
The Fort is completely fenced off with the fence about ten or twelve feet high with barbed wire on top off that and all along the fence are powerful lights.

After walking across the school field I headed straight for the fence because it is well lit.I had walked about a third of the distance along the fence when I noticed somebody standing next to the fence. I could not make out a face as the person was standing right in front of one of the lights.I could make out a flat cap on its head so I thought Navy guy, security guard, or policeman so I had no sence of fear. As I got closer I moved away from the fence to try to see a face but this person moved towards me making the front of him darker, I stopped cos I thought ' whats going on here ' it asked me if I had a light for his cigarette and I replied no sorry dont smoke he then walked off and went behind me. I turned around and he was nowhere to be seen and I could not here his footfalls as the field had been cut and the stalks were only a few inches high and made a crunching sound when you walked. I could see for a good thirty to forty feet and there was nothing there in any direction.

I dont think he ran silently for thirty feet in a few seconds or climbed a ten foot fence without aking a sound!!

I have seen many strange things in my life time, whether they were ghosts or not but none the less disturbing.

The most vivid memory of seeing one was when I was 17, I had spent the night over at a friends house. She and I had just woke up and she left the room and I laid back down with me head in my arms, trying not to fall back asleep. I heard the bed room door open and naturally I thought it was her coming back but I heard no foot steps and I turned my head to the left just enough to see a sliver of the room. What I saw for just a moment was a man in a suit, I would say military because it was deep green. The "person" was just walking away from me and I turned my head back into my arms now fully awake. Then I heard the footsteps of my friend when she came in I relayed the story to her and she freaked alittle but it didnt surprise her one bit, she had been hearing noises and footsteps in her hallway in the middle of the night for the past weeks. It got so bad that she slept with her tv on so she couldnt hear them.

Cool discussion...
Impressions, lost souls, demons, spirits, ghosts, poldergeist, are there really that many different forms and how do you know the difference? Big question I guess.

I guess I should study on it more but i enjoy hearing from others about there beliefs on the subject than reading about it.

I have encountered evil looking spirits, spirits just looking back at me and talking telepathically, and actually having a spirit friend when I was young.

I was about 7 years old and my family and I had just moved to a 10 acre place that had a house on it that was built in the 1800's and a two story giant building that was the first store in the town way back then.

I would go outside and play alote. There was a pond built in front of the old house that my family remodeled. My dad put a big water fountain with a cement girl in the middle of it next to the pond. She had a frog in her hand and the water would come out of its mouth.

I was playing one day and saw a small girl that had long blonde hair come up to me and she was maybe just a little older than me. She wanted to play with me, so that is how our long friendship began. I knew she was different but I loved here company. One day we were playing ring around the rosy around the cement girl and all of the sudden the cement girl broke off and fell on top of me pinning me under the water in the pond. I was so scared, I thought I was going to die. The front door of our house was open so mom could keep an eye on me. She hear the noise and came running out. Managed to get me out of the pond and I had hurt my knee really bad. I finally told her about my girlfriend and she was really worried about me. I told mom that she was all alone and wanted someone to play with. Her mom had died and her dad was dead also. Her dad had committed suicide in our living room in his rocking chair. She asked if anyone had talked to me about the background of the place we were living, I said no. She was in shock. She told me that there was a little girl, her dad and mother that used to live here long ago. The little girl had polio and her dad had made the pond for thereputic purposes for her to swim in. She eventually died though and her mom died of cancer not long after. He was so alone that he was found in his rocking chair and had shot himself in the head. As a young child I was overwhelmed by sadness. I felt really sorry for this girl. Mom just couldn't believe that I knew about this and hadn't been told.

When I went outside later to play again she came up to me and was upset that I had talked to my mom about her. She said that is was our secret and she was mad. She was also mad because she wanted me to be just like her so we could play together forever. This made me scared because I was afraid she had tried to kill me. I wouldn't play with her anymore and eventually she left me alone.

My bedroom was the old bedroom of her mother and father. Until I moved out at the age of 18 I still felt the great sadness in that room and in the living room. I would watch tv and hear her dad rocking in the rocking chair watching tv with me. I felt safe because it was like he was happy I was there. It made him feel like he still had his daughter.

I believe there are all kinds of forces around us. They have feelings like us and they do know that they can effect us.

Ive never seen one but i have had strange experiences of the sort. i lived in a house once that had doors that would, i guess you could say, knock themselves, i would constantly hear knocking and then noone would be there. My bed would sometimes pulsate.
I back when i was much younger i had an experience where i was in class and all the chairs were up on tables and one would fall down, and then another one would fall down across the room, and then another would fall in another remote spot and so on...

Anyone ever see a ghost?

When I was young. I was sleeping in my hallway i woke up and saw a tall shadow with a cow boy hat. I looked at this thing for a minute and I said "grandpa?", because my grandparents were sleeping over that night. whatever it was just stood there. so I fell back asleep. the crazy parts are these:

I asked my grandpa if he was up that night (2:00Am), he said no.

there is not one cowboy hat in my house.

the figure was blacker or darker then the darkness of the hallway. i know this sounds ironic but its true.

I was totally awake. because I remember. looking at a clock before I went back to sleep. this was the only ghost expeirence i ever had;

any members deal with something like this? of the shadow people or ghost out there.?

Few years back now I was sleeping and awoke to what i thought was my mum coming in to check on me, as you do I pretended to be asleep and scare them when they come to kiss you on the cheek but she didn't come i looked at the door and it was slightly opened and a female figure with a bright light lite behind her/it (could of been just a kitchen light and looked bright becasue eyes had been shut for a while) but anyway I asked mother in the morning and she siad she did not come in and check on me....

I have a ghost story that gives me goosebumps to this day. Now when I say story I do not mean that it is make believe....because it is not!

First a little history that I believe is related to the incident.........
From about the age of 10 my younger sister would start screaming at the top of her lungs. This was sometimes at night while we were all sleeping and sometimes in broad daylight. She would tell us that she would see a lady silouetted in white. Most of the time the lady would simply appear, float in place and then dissipate while other times she believe that this lady was trying to speak to her. On a few occasions my sister's friends experienced seeing this lady also with the same screaming results. I myself, I thought she was having issues at the time (I was 13 and thought it was girl stuff) and did not believe her. This went on for probably close to 3 years that we lived at this house, but the incidents seemed to decrease from the time we first moved in(She did not experience this until we moved to this house).

We moved to another house a few miles away from the previous address. We lived there for about 2 years with no more incidents. I had pretty much forgotten about my sisters "lady in white" as I am sure she had started to do.

Ok, here we go. The following are events that started happening to me.

I had a dream that I had walked out our sliding glass door into our backyard and walked to the backyard gate and opened (This gate opened to a wide open field where we dumped our grass and yard debris). When I opened the gate there was this dog waiting there, he seemed un-menacing, I turned around and headed back to the sliding door. As I approached the door I found that I had building sense of urgency to get back in the house and close the door. In my dream I made it to the door and quickly closed it. This dog was sitting outside the door begging to be let inside. Even know I was fearful at this time for some damned reason I opened the door..........Then I woke up. A little later that day my Mom asked me if I had snuck out the gate as it was open that morning..........Goosebumps.......

A few days later our family dog, a min pin, and I were in our family room watching television. I heard a creak and crackle in the back corner of the room which seemed to be emanating from the ceiling or roof. This was a loud noise almost comparable with what would seem like a giant outside the house pushing down on that corner of the roof. Our min pin was growling and had his center strip of hair standing at attention while intently staring at the corner and he then promptly exited the room. The sounds while diminished continued. I exited a short time later. (There were a few occasions while watching television in which the TV would turn off or on or off for no reason during this time. I am not sure if it was related.)

I tried for the most part to avoid the family room as it had started to make me feel uneasy when in the room. I started to spend a lot more time in my room. I don't remember how many days after the living room incident, maybe a week and a half I began to hear tapping in the wall of my room. This tapping had no apparent rhythm or time of occurence. I would get up off my bed or chair to investigate and the sound would stop. This tapping at times seemed to almost be a knock. I knew it was not anyone on the outside because when I first heard it I thought one of my friends had hopped the fence and was outside knocking and had gone to check....nobody there. This went on for a few days and night....tapping, knocking some creaks and cracks and the occasional hint of what seemed to be small shadow movements out of the corner of my eye.

Main incident...Here come my goosebumps again......

Part 2

I was laying down listening to some music. I was NOT asleep or about to sleep when all of a sudden I was violently pushed down in my water bed to what felt like the press board below. I immediately sat up and looked around the room. When I looked toward my stereo(This was one of those huge AM/FM phono and 8 track jobs with the bright lighting display) I saw the silhouette of what looked to be a see through woman in white. The Apperation seemed to just stare at me and then slowly faded away. I was freaked out. I wanted to yell and tell someone, but I realized it was around 2AM in the morning and did not want to be a hysterical chicken at 15-16 years old. I did however leave my light on the rest of the night. To the best of my memory I heard or saw nothing else that night.

Now here is where it gets weird:

I got up the next morning eager to tell my sister, who I had made fun of all that time, and mother what had happened (My sister was gone as my mother had dropped her off after her explicit request to go to a friends house after her and my mother had went shopping), my mothers mouth about dropped as I told her the details. My mom explained to me that while out with my sister (While I was still sleeping) my sister had told her that she had seen the "lady" again. My sister said that the lady had stood in her bedroom doorway (Her room was next in line to mine in the hall) and put her finger to her mouth in a hush gesture and had gone towards my room.

My sister or I have not seen this lady since. We have both experienced what we believe are unrelated things in the years since but nothing like that. I have tried to remember and tell everything I could about the event. We both have no reasonable explanation for what happened.

I never had actually seen an apparition, but definitely felt the presences of them. This has happen to me twice and on two separate occasions. One was in a hotel room me and my buddy was staying in, and the second time was in a house I was renting and living in for about a year. Frankly, I just think I'm not sensitive enough to see them. But I can always tell when they are there in the room, The air will always get dense and you get an almost feeling of emotional dread or fear. You get this "someone is staring at you feeling".

Even though I'm less sensitive to this stuff, My older brother, ex gf (most of the women in her family are sensitive) , and my grandfather, is way sensitive to this stuff. All of them have experience actually visual apparitions. I look at it kind of like TV reception, some people can't see them at all but can sense them, some people can only make them out as shadow like figures, and some people can see them as plain as night and day. I have heard everyone is born with this reception, strength varies depending on the time and date your born. I have even heard that through training you can develop your sensitive, through meditation. Some people look at it as a curse, some people look at it as a blessing. Whatever the case, I don't envy the people who can actually see them. The veil between both our worlds are sometimes very thin.

The funny part is always, when non-believers get their first taste of it, and then realize they been wrong all this time.

Yeah me too. Before we moved from Europe, we lived in an old forest keeper's cottage, that used to belong to the interior minister of a former communist-block country. He was personally involved in judicial murders in the 50s and he was still around when we moved in. Saw him a couple of times. He didn't exactly have what you would call a pleasant presence. When he wasn't directly visible, he'd sometimes engage in petty acts of sabotage - intermittently malfunctioning appliances etc. Delightful fella.

So.. say ghosts are real... whats the deal ? Do they just roam the Earth for ever and ever ? I would of thought we would be reincarnated or something , perhaps reborn. Any ideas ?

When they finally let go of whatever is keeping them here, they will eventually move on. The difference between ghost and spirits are that ghosts don't know they are dead. Where as a spirit is already passed on but can come visit us, they aren't earthbound like ghosts are. Even we all know people that are so stubborn about things, some of these folks die and don't know they are dead or they are bounded by something either be a place or object or person. Til they find their own peace then they will move on. Nothing is forever, remember that even death it seems.

When I was about 10 years old I woke up one night because I was really thirsty and a dark man with a strange hat was standing over me. I was in so much shock I kinda sat there, befor I knew it I watched him then stand up and walk through my wall. Being young at the time I pulled the covers over my head and hid for the rest of the night. I still remeber the hat he was wearing sort of a gentlemens hat.

I didn't tell anyone in my family and thats when it got wierd. The next night I slept just fine. However in the morning I got up and my brother (9 years old) pulled me aside and told me the he had gotten up to go to the washroom in the middle of the night and in the hallway he saw a man with a funny hat walking down our stairs.

So this to me confirmed that I had actually saw this person and was not in a dream like state. We never saw him after that.

I saw a ghost the time i spent 4 days at a Washington DC hotel, which my company reserved for my business trip.

It was my first night there, i ordered room service and set up the television, made a few phone calls and settled down to watch a movie.

I started to doze off and i woke with a start. Stooped over me, watching me was an old lady, mabe 70'ish, with flat short grey hair, a polka dotted blue blouse with a bow tied at the neck, dark navy skirt, and a stiff black purse.
She was gone the minute i screamed. I called the office and they said they would be happy to give me another room and i took it. I was very shaken and this was the first and only "real" ghose i've ever seen.

Reminds of the story that happen to my brother, when he spent a night in a hotel in colorado. Same thing, He was awaken to a woman, that was shaking him telling him to wake up, but this lady, looked like a Mexican cleaning lady, in her middle ages. The lady was telling him that someone was trying to get into his room, which actually was happening. Someone was trying to jiggle open his hotel room door. He got up to check on it, when he looked out the hallway he saw a real person dart down the hall and out. When he walked back into his room, the lady was gone. He was on the 5th story of the hotel, and there was only 1 way out of that room, which he was at. That ghost might have saved his life, or maybe it was his guardian angel.
