What do you think angels are exactly? Winged humanoids? Spirits? Extra-dimensional beings? Aliens?

If in fact "angels" stood up for us in order to perpetuate the human race then yes I appreciate that. Anything standing up for our race after seeing what we are capable of has to be merciful.

Dear TheLIeWeLive,

Thank you for actually answering the question. I shall answer yours. I believe that angels are sentient beings, that they have the ability to make free will choices. I also believe that they are limited in their emotional range, I do not believe they are challenged by the dilemmas that we face, the need to choose as often with as much emotional knowledge that we have. I do not see them as winged humanoids; but, they are spiritual and therefore extra-dimensional.

Thank you!

Ever come across the idea that some of us are the actual "Fallen" now working to restore the CREATOR's original intention? Unconditional LOVE for ALL.

Maybe we have had to learn a few lessons over time...Such as right NOW in this moment. Please look across the earth and let me know how you feel about what you see in the "big picture".

I feel that humanity can't continue on this path of separation (duality), we must now come together and fix this beautiful earth. I feel The Christos explained to us how to do this!

Regards and Nameste,

I like it.

A lot.

When I was reading about the fall of Adam and Eve. Before they ate the fruit they were like the angels. Only knowing good and couldn't die. After they ate of the fruit. Their eyes became open (free-will) and would die as a result. sometimes when I search online and see what people think of angels. Either as aliens or angels who rebelled against God. Imagine if an angel was in place of Adam and Eve. Being created differently but suffering the same faith as a result of eating the fruit. Having free-will and being able to die would be a scary thought for anyone. While everyone else is like robots.

No, I didn't say they had free-will at all. You must of misinterpreted by post. Don't worry I'm not good at writing. What I did mention though is what if Satan did eat from the Tree of Knowledge. I share my view of angels with Jews who do not believe angels have free-will.

Dear ManOfGod267,

Here is a quote from you:

Being an angel Satan has no free-will. Since angels can only know good and praise god, and also can never die.

Please explain to me what you did mean because to me it sounded as if you said they had no free will.

Dear Chung,

I understand the idea that we may be fallen, I just don't buy into it. That is an opinion that I hold and not a knowledge. If we are fallen angels then I don't understand how we can be above the angels, doesn't make sense to me. I don't believe in duality, I believe in individual sentience, I believe I am and because I believe in free will, I believe I have the freedom to become whoever I wish. I also love Nameste as a greeting and farewll, I learned it from a Buddhist friend, my soul appreciates and greets yours (bad translation; but good at conveying the feeling I hope).

Friend:

I appreciate the thread, and the manner by which you conduct yourself. Thank you for the openness of your thought.

Have a good evening.

Regards and Nameste,

-Chung

Well angels are created to do only good. Praise God and act as messengers. Doing different task throughout the bible. Talking with people, tempting people and so on. Angles are basically like robots who are faithful to their creator and cannot comprehend free-will like man does.

Dear UmbraSumus,

You don't believe in free will and ask why I believe that Satan is a sentient being, put the two together and you can merrily walk down the road with simplistic answer, because I have no free will I believe in God and if believing that makes you happy then why ask anyone anything, you like the rest of us are robots. Be well robot friend with no free will.

Thats a very interesting perspective, I guess it could go either way since the bible says that we are made in his image but also says that we are born as sinners... my question was that if we were made made in his image and therefore had his inner light then how can some be born with no conscience or remorse? how can they be saved?

if the bible says that any man can be saved, how can there be the sociopath who is incapable of repenting? just a question to ponder

I understand that we are born as sinners because Eve ate from the tree. Originally, Adam and Eve were not born of sin, but because they were corrupted by satan, it has burdened our people as a whole. Original Sin.

As far as free will is concerned, I will share something from a book in my library by Gustav Davidson titled "A Dictionary of Angels - Including the Fallen Angels". It states the following:

It is Church doctrine, as it is the doctrine of angels, like human beings, were created with free will the moment they were formed. At that moment, we are told, they were given (and had to make) the choice between turning toward or away from God, and that it was an irrevocable choice. Those angels that turned toward God gained the beatific vision, and so became fixed eternally in good; those that turned away from God became fixed eternally in evil. These latter are demons, they are not the fallen angles (an entirely different breed of recusants which hatched out subsequently, on Satan's defection). Man, however, continues to enjoy free will. He can still choose between good and evil.

They had never & will never experience the human condition, WE ARE SPECIAL, but unfortunately we are contaminated. Angels & humans are searching for 50% of a different yet the same problem and that is to be complete with whoever or whatever created us. Yet, humans are still THE ONLY CREATURES OF ALL THINGS created int he image of GOD and that makes us special, no matter how pathetic we seem to be. I really need to start a new thread on this subject! It's deep people, I MEAN DEEP, but very simple at the same time.

Dude. Imagine God, sitting in his lab. A human. And he's created a universe. And Souls.
And in this universe.. he creates a creature in his own human image.. just sayin.. All Angles.

Dear HardyWhite,

Thank you for recognizing that I do not treat you as a troll, I know when I am being played and I did not accuse you of such, I also know what I believe and will tell anyone that asks, I think that is fair.

As far as I know, christ hasnt returned... so nobody HAS been left to waste.some religions say 144,000. The jews are also known as Gods chosen people. I don't really have my own ideas on this, but I would imagine there is a chosen people, more rightly a God for all people... For each race and religion.. there may be ONE above said Gods, and He may be who most in the Judeo/Christian beliefs refer to.. but honestly.. there is no knowledge I could attain in life that would make me fully and faithfully understand 'God'

I cannot say what would make you fully and faithfully believe in or understand God. I can say this, if it forced you to believe, if it caused you to have no free will in the decision then I would vote on you choosing for yourself whatever that choice might be. I am concerned with what is right, not what is wrong and I believe God gave us free will, I believe we are more than robots or biological machines, I believe sentience is the nature of God. You do not have to agree or accept what I believe, I don't ask such a thing of others because I really like free will and the right and ability to define myself.

That’s a interesting take on it. But we did like the book says and broke a commandment not to eat of a certain tree. There were two Trees, why didn’t the devil tell us to eat of the tree of life first then eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

edit on 11-8-2011 by Sippy Cup because: (no reason given)

There was only one tree that the man could not eat from, the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17)

Well I think it is because he didn’t want us to live forever…and he wanted to make us fall…take us with him as you will…..so he is a deceiver, he was a schemer had a plan.

He told us a truth…but he would tell you a thousand truths just to make you believe one lie.

Ok. The devil is a liar. That is common knowledge.

Now, was he already cast out of heaven or working on it? And we were cast out of the garden the same time the devil and the 1/3 rd of the angels was?

in Genesis the devil was already cast out of Heaven. We were cast out of the garden after the man ate from the tree.
edit on 8/11/2011 by ProphecyPhD because: the man

Dear TheThirdAdam,

An image and the same are different things. All are born capable of learning, that is different than already knowing right from wrong, we discover it for ourselves. All can be saved. Let me ask you a question and by the way "christians" hate it when I ask this question. It says that if you are saved then you will live a changed life. It does not say you will be perfect. If you were a serial killer and killed one person a month and then were saved and killed one a year and then one every three years and then one every ten years, would you have a changed life because you sinned less? Now take out the words "serial killer" and "kill" and replace them with "luster" and "lusted".

Ok..Imagine this, you are in a bus wreck...16 out of 17 people die, yet you live. Why? Coincidence or did God believe that you could wake people up? All of us have experienced things out of our natural world. What have you experienced?

Dear SaturnFx,

Again, this is clearly stockholm syndrome, not love...it is being soo twisted by our overlord that we see "him" showing us love when he is not murdering or otherwise hurting us...not love..if you must use fear to gain love, your -not- the good guy.

All knowledge of God begins with fear because we are so weak, babies, sheep or at least we are so when we begin, it is not until we grow up that we can speak to him as a sentient being that is not afraid. He does not seek fear; but, fear is a natural response to what we cannot dictate to. He waits to speak to us until we get over the fea.
