First detected during the Viking orbital mapping program, cyclonic storms similar to hurricanes have been detected by various probes and telescopes. Images show them as being white in color, quite unlike the much more common dust storms. These storms tend to appear during the northern summer and only at high latitudes. Speculation is that this is due to unique climate conditions near the northern pole.[34]

Well, like most topics here you need to feel into it and look beyond... Science in itself is a very limiting paradigm and something the human race has been conditioned into touting around highly, it's not, especially the civilian variety!

These vapor clouds are becoming impossible to hide because Mars has been under a project to re-terraform for some time. There are upwards of a million human inhabitants there already, living underground, in preparation for this coming 'shift'.

There's plenty of information out there on these things... Like the Mars Remote Viewing Op done by Farsight Institute, as well as descriptions of 'Jump Rooms to Mars' throughout the web. I suggest people go diving for deeper insights rather than oooing and aaahing over some press release or other inferior information.

Alas, that might just run this low grade conspiracy website into the ground...

This maybe a dumb question but does that mean their is air?

If NASA knew about clouds, polar caps, possible water, and life on Mars, why did we send spirit and opportunity to look at rocks? Why didn't we send those rovers to the poles? I apologize if these questions are ignorant, and I can't believe I haven't seen these videos before. Thank you!

NASA confirmed that there is indeed liquid water on Mars but they believe it to be highly salty. We need to find a way to warm the planet up and make it hospitable to humans. Perhaps AL GORE can help? He's the expert on hot air.

Anyway, if we can get Mars warm enough, the human race can move there when the Sol goes nova at some point in the future. No, wait..that's not far enough. Maybe we should scratch Mars and begin work on inventing warp drive. Shouldn't cost much more than a few trillion dollars?

Mars used to have huge body's of water, the equivalent of the Atlantic Ocean, "that is obvious" until something catastrophic happened,

the big question is did it once have life, this would open a MASSIVE CAN OF WORMS at least for the UFO communities, IMO it certainly did, the next question tho is did INTELLIGENT life have time to develop, and might they of come hear?

It is hard for me to get excited about anything NASA says or does. I look at 30 years of the space shuttle program and what have we gained from it? Another agency that spends billions of taxpayer dollars and is accountable to no one. They release little snippets detailing how mouse farts smell in outer space and expect us to get excited about it. The sad part is, many do. They aren't doing any of this for US, they are doing it for THEM. The elite would be the first ones to vacate earth if the need arose and they would do it using the technology garnered with taxpayer funds, leaving the rest of humanity to perish.

Furthermore, I find it laughable that we have evidence coming out our arse that there is extraterrestrial intelligence; sightings, abductions, etc. yet we get all tingly over water on Mars. When I see that, my first reaction is, "BFD", like we didn't know there is life out there already. Really? They keep feeding us these little snippets of "possible life on Mars" because we found possible proof of WATER. Oh noes! Water! Lets all get excited! We can't properly manage life on a planet that has an abundance of everything we need but we're going to somehow survive and exist on a planet that has mere "traces" of water? Yea, let me know how that works out for ya.

It's funny, in a recent thread here on ATS, when NASA announced the existance o liquid water on Mars, a lot o voices here stood up a said that the water is really salty, that's why it does not evaporate on Mars. LoL! This after stating in other threads about Mars that liquid water on Mars in not possible due to thin atmosphere and so on. Well now they say that ok, there is water but it's really salty. hmm.. funny. it's like they went there and tasted it. Fine. In the same thread there were a bunch of "experts" stating that "That's why clouds cannot form on Mars, since the particles evaporare and leave the planet due to lack of a magnetic shield of Mars and really thin atmosphere". Well experts, here are the clouds. Now they say that the clouds are actually ice crystals. Hmmm. If I remember correctly from my geography classes in high school, and that was a while ago, that is how RAIN is formed. vapors forming ice crystals in the clouds, then becoming to heavy to saty above ground and falling to earth in the form of rain or snow. so yeah, your explanation is freaking awesome guys.

watching the fake phoenix mars mission video on this thread. My dad is a former military parashootist. It is correct, a shoot cannot open above certain altitude. So, in my mind there is just two possibilities regarding Mars, either we never went (i doubt it) or the atmospere and pressure on Mars are different from what we "publicly" know now.

information is being handed out to the public opinion one piece at a time. it's the same tactics as with technology. what we now use (mobiles, laptops, computers, etc.) has been in use by the military 20, 30 years ago. Eventually we will find out the truth about Mars, but i doubt it to be any time soon. I hate it how they do it and I'd love for this to change. You see, America, and other countryes are being ruled, in cycle by various forces. A good example is the USA. You see, it was George Bush senior you had the military in power behind the scenes. Result? First Gulf War. Clinton Administration came and it was known as one of the longest peace times after WW2. Also, during this time the Human Genome was mapped (publicly) and this was a major breakthrough. He HAD to fall and G.Bush junior came to power - more wars. Aftr the cowboy left office you have another puppet, Mr. Obama. Guess what...you are still at war. No major scientific breakthrough. Do you notice a patter? Also, I'd like to state that USA is not the only one in this situation. Other countries are ruled, from behind the scenes, by institutions such as the Supreme Council for National Defense (a country in Europe), or other similar establishments, usually ment to function during wartime.

We will not read other major stuff untill a relaxation of global politics and a switch from military to economic development, education and research promotion. Don't kid yourselves, we are at war, we just can't see the bullets.

I made this statement, apparently unrelated to the topic, to explain a bit my view on the issue and why information such as real details regarding space exploration are not made public.

I wonder how long before people start calling the images fake... after all, they look as though they could have been taken from any bare desert/ rocky plain here on earth
It does look pretty cool though, i wonder how habitable it could actually be for humans? I am not completely clued up on what sort of chemicals are present in the atmosphere of mars, but it would be pretty good if we could actually set it up as a second planet to inhabit.
Or maybe even make a massive jail there... then it wouldnt matter too much about the harmful chemicals in the air, if there are any

After phoenix landed the team also observed ice evaporation after they landers 'shovel' disturbed the area below phoenix.

The clouds are a mixture of ice and dust and it even snows from time to time, in the area of phoenix the ice and dust is almost ph nuetral with very low acidity as opposed to other area's of Mars. Although there was a high level of perchlorate detected which is very un-friendly for life supporting conditions for microbs etc although there are some forms of life that have been found to thrive on perchlorate.... food for thought
