Looks like it might soon be time for normal folk to get out of their houses and sort this mess out. Some vigilante action is what is needed. I'm all for buring banks and government buildings in a riot, but not peoples homes. And this has a real chance of spreading like wildfire over the whole country. Time to tool up and be ready.

How long before others follow suit?

What city are you in by the way? Im lucky, im round 30m from birmingham, so closest to me was walsall. I cant see it getting bigger than last night to be perfectly honest, they may try and kick start but i recon it will fuzzle out after a while.
It realy is unfair though how they're sending all the police to London, and cameron just goin on about London. Reminds me of one of the most annoying thing about England, no one of importance/power every think of anything else other than god damm London!

I cant help wonder why on earth the police are standing off them...Saturday night the looters had 12 hours to get what they wanted before police made a move....If this was the US I would be saying its all being encouraged to use the patriot act, martial law and Fema camps.
At the G summit meetings we saw what the met can do, but IMO they have an agenda in not tangling with the looters.

The police are standing off them because the police have no power, and with the human rights act, its protecting theses people something rotten

While London burns, I bet Mr Cameron spent the first hour of the Cobra meeting showing them a power point presentation of his holiday snaps.

Do you think that would include the picture of him in his work shoes & no socks? I was impressed with that fashion faux pas

The response from the government is pitiful. Cameron has ruled out the use of water cannons, rubber bullets and the army and the number of police wil be increased from 6000 to 16000.g showing them a power point presentation of his holiday snaps.

Yes and some of those 16,000 will be drafted in from other areas. What are those of us in these other areas going to do when the trouble moves to us? There are not enough police to go round - simples. We either have to give the police greater powers or bring in more resources - like the army. Possibly both.
