No these weren't the vigilantes that are being reported, the reporter made it clear that the mob was hostile and was being directed away from the police by a group of "leaders".

Seems the police are out in force in places that haven't even been troubled yet. Here in Cardiff my brother came home from a late night shift an hour ago and said our town centre was swarming with riot police. After leaving his house me and my mum went to the chip shop and got talking in there - one of the guys working there said his Dad was out tonight as one of 200 riot police deployed to Cardiff town centre. He said they were there because of threats made to petrol bomb shops there. He also said that the army were going to be deployed if necessary- this from his Dad, who is one of the riot policeman. No trouble here so far though . Cardiff is only one of many UK cities- I wonder how many other cities have this amount of riot police guarding the town centres of places not even troubled as yet....

My report for tonight is not a lot going on, all very quiet with a few riot vans driving around leisurely. No sirens here. Went to local ASDA to buy some ciggies and it was eerily quiet, but I bought Hobo With A Shotgun to entertain myself as it seems tonight will be uneventful. Chavs seem to be scared of the police and residents tonight as they are nowhere to be seen.

You know, in under an hour in Canada when rioters videos starting going up, the public started naming them.

They were not afraid of being pegged a "rat" or that someone might come after them for it.

I've seen the difference today.

I see the fear you guys have. It is so ingrained, so deep down part of your psyche you don't even know how afraid your society is.

My country was populated by the difference. Maybe being the product of your country's fear of its children makes it clearer to see.

I have a feeling that most of the "retards" will be running straight home to the gang masters that sent them on their "errands" and delivering the loot!

It is absolutely chaotic in London, thankfully my area hasn't been hit but I was talking to my friend yesterday and she lives in Hackney - she could smell/see smoke and helicopters were everywhere. There are still a load of helicopters today and we were driving past today at 4:30pm and the first thing I saw were 6 police trucks driving past all in a row. All the shops were closed down and shuttered and at least 10 policemen were guarding the doors for each of the big supermarkets. Too bad the army can't be involved, it's absolutely MAD here!
Note: Yesterday there were 6,000 policemen around London. Today 16,000 policemen were recruited, and I salute them :]

I know i can have a weird view on things every now and then but you seriously need to get a grip on reality.

That aside, the Brits don't NEED to point anyone out because in the cities especially they can follow you from front door to front door on CCTV (guess it has it's use now....)

Yeah, people are so afraid that theyre patrolling the streets doing the polices job for them.

I know of no one who is afraid or panicking and if you knew the English, youd know we are one of the most level headed and resilient nations there is.

We survived the intense carpet bombing of the blitz. A few hundred chavs are nothing. If the police werent there, this would have been snuffed out the 1st night by residents.

Get a clue.
