I don´t get how you can say 16 and pregnant is bad. If anything it is educational, and shows kids how much it can suck if you get pregnant at a young age, and how you lose your childhood.

It definately doesn´t promote teenage sex. I think this show has made a lot of kids think twice about having unprotected sex.

I would say My Sweet Sixteen, my god, these kids think they deserve it all, wow what a spoiled little materialistic and arrogant bunch.

Also Tila Tequila, if anything promotes sick relationships and a skewed outlook on love, it´s that show.

well, if young girls are indeed purposely trying to get pregnant in order to get on the show... thats a problem. a lot of teens dont see the educational aspect of these shows. they see other teens making thousands of dollars and getting famous on TV. and they want that too.

Wow that´s a stretch, you guys.

In the show you can see that these kids have problems getting money, getting a job and holding on to it, problems with having a roof over their head and paying for it.

Nowhere in the show does it even imply that these kids have it easy and get a lot of money.

According to your logic, an educational show could simply not exist, cause the person that is the subject would always be seen as the priviliged one making lots of money.

Come on now.

You guys really think girls are getting pregnant, en masse, to get on the show, wich features these girls in misery, most of the time?

That´s ridiculous.

Show me your source for this information....Then I'll show you more sources that claim those shows produce the opposite effect. I've watched 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom several times, I've not seen one successful case.

It's true they make money off the show, even with that they don't have enough of it to raise a family, let alone the maturity.

For the same reasons everyone is bashing Jersey Shore. People want to be famous and be on tv. It is really tough for a 15 year old to go out clubbing, getting loaded, and sleeping with their housemates. It is really easy for one to get knocked up.

Do you really think the 15 year old girls that watch this show are all taking away a valuable lesson? The only lesson I see is that if you get pregnant, you can be on TV and get paid for it.

Is it really? Two of them today were in their own apartment eating from their own fridge while still trying to score their first jobs. Wow. So who paid that deposit, rent, and bought that food? Perhaps the same people that funded Farrah's boob job? Single mothers in their teens are usually flush with the kind of cash to get an apartment, groceries, and new breasts right?

I have to ask. What do you mean by "successful case." Is that an episode where everyone ages 18 years and you get to see how it all turned out? Last time I checked the girls from the first season were 20. When can you decide if it was successful or not?

Is it normal to look at someone with a child barely 4 years old and declare they already failed?

You do realize if you actually watch the show that the message being sent is that having unprotected sex at the age of 15 is normal, everyone is doing it, and best of all mom and dad are only angry for a little bit. Then they just wuv dat wittle baby soooooooooooooooooooooo much!

Jersey Shore sends the message that if you are an adult and act like an idiot, you might also get a tv show where people regularly tune in to laugh at you but that is about it.

Yes I do, I can´t imagine that 15 year old girls watching this, are going to want to be in that situation, where they clearly have to give up their childhood and have almost nothing but trouble.

If you think that this show is making girls go out and get preggo, just to get that ridiculously small chance of being on tv for it, be my guest.

I see, so the message would be better if she was laying in an alley with her baby, without food?

Where she got the money doesn´t even matter, The overall vibe of the show is that it is no fun being a teen mom, and you can´t say they are living the rock star lifestyle.

Like you said, the girl was looking for a job, and you get mad that someone paid her rent and food?

What world do you live in, Kids are having sex around those ages, it´s pretty normal. And sadly, unprotected sex also still happens a lot.

If anything, this show is a reminder of what can happen when you don´t have safe sex, or sex in general.

I think you have things horribly twisted.

Now you´re mad because the grandparents love the baby, you would rather see them resent the baby? Now that would be a great message.

Twisted.

MTV hands down. The reality shows of fighting, disrespect, use of vulgar language, demeaning women, flaunting their sexuality and rude behavior makes them think this is the normal way to act in society.

I would say MTV in general has destroyed today's generation....I know I watched it when I was a teen and it certainly skewed my perception of right and wrong for a period of time! Jersey Shore, Real World...Really!?!? All I see is a bunch of glorified idiots!

MTV has changed so much --- I still remember when it was a Music Television

Now is barely a can of trash for teens that now stampede into it in mass attracted by the lights and high speed moving colors.

and I dont vote conservative, I just miss the good old times

Basically any reality television. It makes no sense that people with their own lives are stuck on being all into someone elses lives lol. But hey I used to like watching Real World -Tom Green and Dave Chappelle so I am not innocent on it. Today they just seem like its just all about someone elses live, so others can compare how they need to be socially acting. Reminds me of on Robocop the show -ill by that for a dollar- type insanity

so, whatever happened to moral television, or moral music, or moral oral for that matter.

these next couple of generations are going to be useless turds thanks to a system of indoctrination absolutely perpetrated onto us, by those in charge in washington and those in glamorous hollywood.

all tv that glamorizes bad behaviour, and disgusting examples of wealth without earning it is a way to divide our children from their parents. the parents cant mind their children, because they are forced to work all day from the $hitty economy. so these kids get raised by their media, not their parents.

the nazis knew to get the youth first, and so does american media. project paperclip refined.

it would be easier if you asked the other way around...

can you tell tv shows that could be good for kids??

my definition of a kids program is sesame's street!!! there is nothing like that anymore!!

watching tv, you have to wonder about it's perception, being by teenagers or others.

can you imagine living in an area where a school teacher considers fox news as current event?

since cable and satellite tv, makes this programing accessible worldwide, people all over the world get to see these housewives of --------, programs.

these rich bimbos, with their augmented breasts, useless lives and empty brains and complete lack of spirituality, must come across as aliens, demons possessed, evil human beings.

in the middle of all the garbage though, i would say if a teenager believes fox news, the poison will destroy his brain and soul.
