I don't think the persistent arguments against Fox News are as well founded as many believe. I currently live in Britain and prefer to get an international view of news than to stick with the leftist BBC. Hence I have to turn to Fox News on sky as it is virtually the only American news network available.
I started watching Fox News irregularly about two years ago and, while it does have some glaring discrepancies, I would still put it on a similar level to the drivel spouted by other networks such as CNN and NBC. The only difference between these networks is that, due to the perception of Fox News, Fox puts less effort into hiding their bias and is pretty honest with the viewer on their views. I find this a lot more open than CNN, NBC or HLN who are perceived as "more balanced" and yet continue to spout leftist nonsense on par with the right wing nonsense Fox News emits on a regular basis.
One factor that may have altered my perception is that I have studied Economics to a reasonably high level and can thus analyse the logic of what people claim on these networks to determine its validity. I am also 18 years old and can accurately say that Fox News hasn't corrupted or drained my intelligence. I currently hold an offer at Oxford University to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics which I feel I had help in achieving by watching different styles of news program such as Fox.
