What would you say is the worst influential TV show teens watch today

Teen Mom. The name alone screams inappropriateness. Anything on MTV is just horrid for teens these days.

Why blame TV?

It's the parents fault not the televisions. If a kid is watching a show make sure and they know there is a border between entertainment and real life. Teach your kid and he will decipher for themselves what is garbage.

I watch jackass and love the damn show, but, I would never do anything they do. They get paid good money to that crazy stuff and have many, many people on site to help them if anything bad happens. If kids know that they will understand why they do it and why they shouldn't.

If someone watches Jersey Shore and idolizes the people they are obviously not educated properly, whereas if they watch the show purely for entertainment then they realize they are just trying to garner more and more attention.

I always tell my kids whatever they are watching is making money from them watching. Don't support people that don't deserve it.

Fox has biased opinions and retarded arguments.

Jersey Shore and Teen Mom glamorize things that ruin peoples lives, making teenagers want to go drink and punch random people and then have kids and try to get on tv.

Your high school sounds sad. Most conversations I have with other people that watch Jersey Shore sound more like "Holy crap, did you see what those morons did this time? Did you see how trashy that was when Pauly D ....."
Not sure who these people are that want to be like these folks but I would have to suggest that anyone that has children who think the "cast" of that show is something to idolize has thus far failed to instill proper values and critical thinking skills into their child.

On topic:
I don't know Jersey Shore as I've never watched it, but I stopped my 9-year-old son from watching Cartoon Network, and I will put a ban on Nickelodeon and the other toon channels as well. He doesn't mind too much though cos he's into astronomy big time (like I was when I was his age ) and he loves shows along those lines.

This person obviously watches jersey shore and is not defending the show, he/she is really just defending his/her self.

I hope he/she understands that no one here is going to agree that Jersey Shore is good influence, unless of course they like the show. So I hope he/she will be wise and save his/her breath and save him/her any further embarassment.

i do think jersey shore is a bad influence for teens because it glamorizes partying and sleeping around. but i still think shows like 16 and pregnant and teen mom are worse because they basically glamorize being a young mom. some may say that these programs can show how hard it is and stuff.. but a lot of the time what teens see is young girls getting thousands of dollars to be on tv and getting famous, etc. i was reading not long ago, about how young girls are purposely going and trying to get pregnant so they can try and be on these shows.

Edit: for the record, i enjoy watching jersey shore. but im also a level headed adult who understands its purely for entertainment value, and not something to aspire to be lol. it also makes me feel very, very intelligent when im watching it i watch it because its funny to see dumb people willing make fools of themselves on tv. thats why i and all the people im friends with enjoy it. because the cast is dumb, and its really funny
