what about all the states that depend on the federal government for their livlihood? remember, when the US credit rating was in danger of being downgraded 5 states were put on notice by Moodys that theres would be downgraded as well ............. because of their overall dependance on government & it's operations for the health of their individual economies. if memory serves me; Virginia, Maryland, New Mexico, Tennesse & South Carolina. they'd be up a creek without a paddle if the federal government ceased to exist.

So jump out the boat and swim to shore, then walk. Not everything in life is going to be easy, especially when your speaking of something with the magnitude of eliminating corruption. Do people think there will be a red carpet along this path? hell no. Great changes require great perseverance and sacrifice of luxury.

May I ask who exactly "we" is in reference to?
Are the American people all now on the same page? We all want the same things?
Or does "we" only refer to teabaggers or Republicans or Democrats or what?
This country is so terribly divided that I never understand these claims of "we" are going to take back anything.

Please refer to the Tea Party in the same way as you do Republicans and Democrats.

What you said is offensive, even though I am not a member of the Tea Party.

Please keep it respectful.

"We" the PEOPLE, regardless of party, still need to be respectful to one another.

You are being part of the problem and not the solution by stereotyping your fellow AMERICANS who just want to see the country run by people who aren't crooked. Why must you consistently label that as though it's some sort of disease?

I digress... I respectfully ask that you please give the same respect to other parties as you do your own.

~Namaste

Democrats and Republicans are actually parties.

There is no "Tea Party" so I am not going to make crap up just so some people feel better about their fake movement.

Actually I am just using the name they picked first. If it was so derrogotory, perhaps they never should have used it to refer to themselves. I do not like the words I see used lots of times for things. I get over it.

I'm sure with the removal of the federal government and its over burdening regulations and taxes it may actually fix the problems with those states.

Better put grandma teabagger in her place then. [atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/370f36c40928.png[/atsimg]
Obviously this woman is insulting herself and as you claim to not be a teabagger you should probably have some words with her. How dare she refer to herself this way.

What is this?

I'm proud to be a Tea Bagger by Andrew Breitbart

video

uh oh!

I'm a Proud Teabagger and Real American

Listen up, you collection of tax-and-spend limousine liberals, pinko Commies, queerbaits, ladyboys, feminazi castrators, and assorted freaks: Go right ahead and have your little gigglefest about the teabag parties that real Americans like myself are having all over the country today, because while you're making your snide jokes about rightwing conspiracies, we're actually rightwing conspiratizing—and you'll be sorry when we take back the country through the mighty power of teabagging!

I know exactly where you are coming from. Seems like you are getting a lot of flak, though it seems pretty simple to me what you are asking the O.P.

Who is the WE he/she is referring to. Simple. I may agree with killing the deer, as you put it. I have no knowledge of your personal political convictions, but I agree with your argument.

If 50% agree with this proposal, which 50% will it be. If it's the folks I greatly differ in opinion with then, I'm out. I have my polital and social beliefs and so does the other side. And each side feels a strongly as the other.

We ( our country) would just end up in the same divided, highly charged place we sit currently.

So O.P. Who are the "we" you are refering to.

Tea party?
Republicans.
Democrats?
Communist?
Gays?
Christians?

All have equally strong ideas about a perfect government where they as groups are concerned.
Who are your "we" excluding?

It goes on and on. I very clearly remember all the chants. "Teabag them before they teabag us!" "I am a teabagger and proud of it!" Then one day someone whispered in their ear and all of a sudden "How dare you call us that!"

I'm a Teabagger and proud of it!

I'm a Teabagger and proud of it!
The British, during the Revolutionary War, slandered the Patriots, calling them "Yankee Doodles". Lets turn around the negative turm 'teabagger' and show them its something to be proud of!

Billybobnexk - I'm A Proud Teabagger

Are YOU Proud to be a TeaBagger?

It's official! Tea Party members are now referring to themselves as "Teabaggers". Conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart has posted a video (Link)on his website embracing the term.

Breitbart feels that everyone connected with the movement should now hold their chins high and declare themselves as proud teabaggers. I applaud your declaration of self-discovery, revel in your glory....have fun with it!

And if other countries see our Government use Nukes on us, then I hope they do something about it. Our Government preaches about hostility towards other countries like Syria for example from being hostile to its people, so if they were ever to do so to us then things will happen...

We who are fed up, of course. Eventually that will be most Americans.

So "we" only refers to the angry minority that you hope will grow.
See, I hope things will get better and people will get happier but to each his own I suppose.
Well your title says "proof" and "we" and yet here you are declaring that "we" does not mean both you and me, it just means you and some other people. Well, that is not "we" taking back our country. That is a few spoiled angry little people demanding the rest of us go along with what they want. I believe there are other countries where things are supposed to go that way. This is America. You want a civil war then just say it.

Excellent idea! Let's just sit back and do nothing and "hope" that things get better! Oh wait, isn't that what most of us have been doing for, let's see, most of our lives? I guess your stance is that, since its been working so tremendously well thus far, why change anything? Nice try, you must be just Trying to cause division in this thread, hoping it will get shut down. I saw your first post... Either a bored unemployed person trying to cause what little havok in others lives you can from behind your keyboard, or dare I say, "one of them"???
The op is just making a suggestion and has no political party attached to this document. And it won't be a civil war once most of the people wake up, because the rest of the sheep will just go along with what everyone else is doing like they always did. They won't have the will to actually fight a civil war. And the ones who want to keep the current regime will be your "spoiled little group of people" who will be the vast minority. What are they going to do? Mount an assault against 90% of the country? No, they will sit aroumd and grumble about it lile weve been doing for the past 10 or more years. This document is just going to sway more people, not incite them to civil war, silly... Nice try though, label the peaceful ones as violent civil war mongers? You must've been one of the ones who nominated Obama for the Nobel Peace Prize lol... Someone's been reading a little too much 1984, and got their vocabulary reversified...
WAR MEANS PEACE. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH, ETC ETC...

I never said don't bother. I was merely stating the obvious in response to the title of this thread. I personally will continue to fight the good fight and am certainly not trying to discourage you from doing so either. I thought that my point about the fact that your document was TOO well written for the masses to understand had bearing also. Then again, so was the Declaration of Independence.
Another thing that my statements might cause should be taken into account: if you call someone a coward enough, they just might stop acting like one out of shame. There are plenty of people out there who are informed enough but do nothing out of fear and/or complacence. What is worse, misguided trust that those schmucks will change their pathetic ways, or calling them out for what they are?

First of all people will never agree unanimously on anything. I doubt the "We the people..." part of the constitution represented the entire populace, some disagreed with revolution all together. The problems and disagreements the founders had were very great. But they accomplished their goal did they not?

So what do you think we should do?

The corruption of government and corporate America has been growing exponentially for the last 60+ years. Do you think our present democratic system can out live the influence of the power players of today?

Politicians of today consistently run on a platform of change/restoration. But when they get into office they completely ignore the people who had hope in them, and instead help corporate America with the very deceiving promise of that "it will help the people".

Obama is the perfect example. He promised to ban lobbyists (did not happen), he promised to close the CIA Black site prisons (did not happen), he promised to close Guantanamo (did not happen), he promised to end the wars (did not happen, he gave us another one), he promised free health care (did not happen, only a perverted form of private heath care), he promised change...I fail to see it and trust me I have been looking. He did not fail to achieve these goals because of GOP opposition, he failed to do so because he never planned on it, he is a liar.

When a government exists like this any where else in the world, the US is the first one to condemn it. Our government is the epitome of hypocrisy. They rely on people who are ignorant of the complexities of economics, foreign policy, and almost all other government functions. They do this by corporate media, and social distractions. I remember once about a year ago Obama was in Israel discussing some important issues about the middle east, but instead of that what was the MSM covering...the Lindsay Lohan trial.

Our democracy is failing. What is the solution?

First just show me where I suggested any such thing. I find it odd you would sarcastically credit me with an idea I never proposed. If your response looked like you actually read my posts it would make for a far better discussion.

Not allow any Teabagger, Republican, or Democrat pretend that they are in any position to speak for everyone.
I simply asked who "we" is and no one has answered it yet.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

That is exactly what I am talking about. One of the best things about America is its diversity. We used to be proud to be a melting pot but I guess those days are long gone. So when "we" decide to take back our government, where are "we" going to take it. I know that when my next door neighbor and I suit up for battle, it will only be a conversation or two about what we want as a result before the people we are aiming at is each other.

That does not answer my question. Parties are supposed to represent their constituents, aka represent the people. But all of the powerful parties have failed to do so.

So I ask again what is the solution?

PS. I think the WE the OP is mentioning are those concerned citizens who see corruption in government, and the destruction of the constitution.

If you really think about it, which came first the chicken or the egg. Do these leaders really represent our strongly divide society, or did they create it.

Maybe we have exactly the government we deserve. And until we reach some kind of social respect for one another, I don't think our representation in Washington will reflect anything different.

I think you are far more spot on than any of the people claiming everyone in DC is a shill, puppet, robot, etc. When you look at how divided everyone on ATS is and then you look at how divided DC is, it looks to me like perhaps it is a little of both. Who knows. The only thing I do know is that about half the country wants things one way and the other half wants things the other way so when anyone says "we" are taking it back I need to know who "we" because it is clear there are at the very least two very different "wes" here.
