Pentagon Deploying 20,000 Troops In U.S.

Two questions:

1) Is there any credible link between the deployment and preparation of these troops and anticipated civil unrest and economic collapse (other than the speculation the author of the article cited in the OP states)?

2) Does anyone here think the current financial and economic woes is plunging the world into a global economic collapse of which will bring about such a scenario? I would expect that there will be a tumultuous and chaotic transition period from a collapse to a new world order and global government etc.

It appears that the esteemed, Shepard Ambellas & Alex Thomas, forgot to have their legal departments review the Posse Comitatus Act..

Those two top scholars also forgot to mention obama's 250,000 man National Civilian Police Force, The Americorp.. Likewise, these award-winning authors forgot to mention obama's taxpayer funded, ACORN, , in charge of enforcing "the will of obama" at the polls.

Being i'm on active duty in the US Army I can tell you I personally haven't heard about this.

Perhaps the Army Times will report on this or similar.

I was responding to your lengthy promotion of the ratios of "good" police. I showed you that it is a fundamentally immoral occupation and thus there are no good police.

Perhaps you think this country should disband all police departments so there would be no one to respond to crimes in progress or investigate crimes such as murder or things of this nature?

Private security and private investigators are a lot more efficient than your typical police department.

Just let people do as they please.....

Err...NG is military - it just isn't the FEDERAL military. And it is generall limited, and only vailable for use within it's own state - so what do you use if the local NG isn't enough??

the National Guard IS federal military. My husband was a military police sergeant in the Army NG for a midwestern state. The NG Military Police are the FEDERAL POLICE. He served duty in California and in Panama. There are lots of NG units right now overseas...he got out just before his unit was to deploy to Kosovo a few years ago.
The National Guard are "civilian soldiers", which in other words is a "militia". And as for 20,000 troops being deployed -- I have to agree with those pointing out how many ex-military there are, and how well-trained and well-armed they are. My husband was TEACHING Urban tactics at one point, and has taught me many of the drills....partly for his own amusement, but mostly for my own self-protection in case of something like "civil unrest" or "martial law" becoming a threat to our lives and home.

Very nice police. Even though many of the people I know sell and use Canabis and can be a little annoyed by the police at times, we all agree that the police must be there in order to keep us just somewhat safe.

I have yet to find any other news reports. Not sure what or who to believe anymore.

I think it's only part of the problem. I think there will be a lot of confusion at first as the denial fades... and then Chaos will ensue as it escalates rapidly into The Madness. Transition will be rapid.

Maybe these are all the new jobs that we are supposedly creating...
If somebody plays the Prison guard, someone else has to play the Prisoner...

Damn bush jrs. patriot act..this is part, if not near whole, his doing* and what is obamas mind thinking on this? posse commitatius--its illegal for active miltary to occupy and control civilian areas, unless engageed in an active war on homeground, aka being attacked but enemy troops. national guard can patrol though..as in the rodeny king beatings, katrina, things like that. are these actually active members of the marines? if so..its agianst the constitution. thats part the reason WHY the constituiton made posse commitatius.. so america would neer end up being raped n occupied and beaten n controled by its own miltary, like under communism.
20,000 isnt alot. but, could be a pre cursor..government seeing how we react first..later months ahead, implement more troops
