No of course you guys are right about the above. But still by doing it "officially" like this, they are showing that they meen business.

Thanks,

The government couldn't even manage "Cash for Clunkers".

They're buffoons.

We might ALL be grateful those troops are around.

I keep seeing people foucus on a sole specific fact, such as "20,000" and "2008". This is usefull to be dismissive. Of course, 20,000 personnel in a country of 300 million people, is an extreme imbalance. Duh.
I am just curious about why troops deployed to domestic turf have to be ready as of "September 2011"?

I understand there are still active b-1 bombers, I'm familiar with U.S. Geography, and even learned that north is opposite of south in school as a child, and realize there are bomber bases to the north of us (you forgot another very important bomber base i, Minot AFB...which still operates b-52's, but you already know that.

Thanks for the brush up on U.S. geography, and enlightening reply about active b-1 bombers. Herp.

That wasn't the concern, it was why the b-1 was circling after take off for a brief time. Next time, derp before you herp, less ye resort to the sarcasm employed by a twerp.

HERP! lol. Seriously though, sorry, I just don't like someone telling me the obvious in a sarcastic manner as if they're knowledge base was superior, and views more enlightening. (is it really necessary to let a U.S. citizen, even if having only gone to school up until the 3rd grade, that "South Dakota is north of Nebraska?" No, it isn't, but thanks for your trollific reply in such an artistic fashion. ;^) I'm sure you're not being a dick just to be a dick; nonetheless, I bow before thine supreme eminence in the domain of U.S geography, bomber squadron locations, and active military aircraft. (did I just get trolled?)

Wow, why do people want to be so rude, when all someone does is report what they see?

All deployed troops have a readiness date. It's been that way since we began deploying troops.

Only reason I can think of, is that they think there will be a follow up attack or something?

Thanks,

Another thought that just came to me, do you reckon that they chose this president, a black president, to crash the country down around our ears, just to foment further animosity between races? I mean look at all the race cards played during his presidency, more than I've heard in a lot of years. A divided country is much easier to rule than a united one if you are big gov't.

yeah, I have been posting some links on Farcebook, and yesterday they said my link posts had been flagged as abusive or too spammy, and wouldn't let me share some youtube videos. I was able to post today though, posted the 20K troops video. Flagged by who? I only have 8 friends, and I know they didn't flag them, lol.

Right! If there are riots in the streets as there were during the Katrina aftermath in N.O. we'd all hope and pray there were military personnel in the streets trying to maintain some level of civility.

The police ran like cowards.

20,000 troops is nothing.

The Latino population who invaded America could wipe out 20,000 troops in 6 hours.

Especially since they hold military grade fully automatic machine guns the Drug Cartels liberated from the Mexican Military and have stock piled in US cities.

If the Latino's run the Mexican Flags up....I really don't think we could take them back down.

You all need to watch V for Vendetta if you want to see how such situations could escalate.

It's a good movie, watch it cause its a good movie too!

But also cause it's of an oppressive police state that for Americans, gets rid of the "undesirables".

Actually we've known about it since the 1980's at least. Did you forget about Ollie North trying to tell everyone about REX 84?

Nha I think he is Black. I think Donald Trumph think he is black as well?

No matter how "white" you are if you are black you are black ok? - Just like Michael Jackson said... It doesnt matter if you are black or white.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Apples to Oranges. MJ had two black parents, everyone remembers Michael when he was younger, no amount of surgery and anti-pigmination pills can erase that from memory.

Obama is just as white as he is black.

I would say medical reasons as well "IF" it's only 20K troops, the Texas State Guard (not texas national guard) are conducting a medical response exercise this month.

Below comes from their website
"TEXANS SERVING TEXAS"

The Texas State Guard (TXSG) is one of three branches of the Texas Military Forces (TXMF), reporting to The Texas Adjutant General located at Texas Military Forces HQ, Camp Mabry (Austin), Texas. The Commander in Chief of the Texas Military Forces is the Governor of Texas. The other two branches are the Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG) and the Texas Air National Guard (TXANG).

here's the link confirming that: www.txsg.state.tx.us...

a little from the beginning article on the front page of their website:

Texas Military Forces Deploy in Support of Texas Public Health and Humanitarian Exercise
By Colonel Robert Morecook, PAO, TXSG
2011/07/21

AUSTIN, Texas - More than 300 members of the Texas Military Forces will begin deployment this weekend to the Texas’ Rio Grande valley for Operation Lone Star (OLS). In its 13th year, Operation Lone Star is a collaborative medical services project that unites federal, state and county health and human service agencies, Texas Military Forces, local service groups and volunteers in one of the largest public health humanitarian efforts in the country.

-End article content

Something strange, I will never forget, is when I went to a small town carnival/festival in a rural part of northeast Texas, and a list of scheduled events among an airshow for a 60+ year old festival included a "Fly-by of a B-2 stealth bomber."

I was like, "WTF?" This town is not even 5,000 in population, but has a long history, and dark at that. It was featured in the news, dateline NBC two years in a row, each piece was 2 hours long, now buried in the news, and archives of NBC entitled: "A touch of Evil"

Anyway, SOMEONE has some major pull, to get a b-2 stealth bomber to do a fly-by. Oh, that's not the only thing, an F-117 stealth fighter also did a fly by. Cost to scramble one of those birds is around 200K I read somewhere, but don't quote me on that.

WEIRD stuff happening in northeast Texas. I remember when they were looking for shuttle debris. Then there was the big story on a fireball over Austin.

Btw, mGem, how's old Too-Stoned, AZ doing these daze? Is the medical marijuana bill kicking in yet? I haven't read much on it, other than they legalized pot for medicinal reasons. I lived there for many years in the 90's and been on Davis Monthan plenty, love that aircraft graveyard for sure. I wouldn't worry about them thunderbolts until you hear a warthog sound, lol...by then, too late. =P

You've place your life on the line because you have issues that led you to become a police officer, or either you're an adrenalin junky, but don't give us some crap you're some hero because you do what you get paid to do. Should have recognized an agent of the state when I read one.

I worked for a PD, and ex military. Don't give me this hero crap.
