It's so simplistic to blame entertainment for this crime. I doubt he was encouraged or influenced by games (I know, he was a Call of Duty fan, that MUST'VE triggered him, right? Lulz) or movies.

I see your point, but... I have been thinking a lot about how a guy with no previous (known) murder experience can slaughter a lot of kids this way.

I hesitate to mention a number, since the latest reports say a lot of the victims drowned and thus was killed indirectely by him. But let's say for the sake of argument that he killed 40 kids. How can you go through with that, without preparation, even if you are a psychopath. I think that, just as a pilot simulates flying through a computer, certain people simulate killing through videogames (knowingly or unknowingly).

If you have killed thousands and thousands of digital people, maybe it doesn't feel so off when you do it for real the first time?

That being said, it is still not clear whether Libya was involved in this attack, and if she was, "what goes around comes around". I didn't see many Norwegians in the streets crying that those bombs dropped in Libya kill people, but I'm sure they will be holding yearly mourning sessions because this bombing killed Norwegians. There was no CIA involvement. This is a guy who was mentally unstable.

What a bizarre series of tragic events. I admit, in my head I jumped to the muslim conclusion with everybody else when I first heard about this. If Europeans were a bit less absolutist when it comes to firearm possession by responsible, law abiding citizens, more lives may have been saved. He was probably able to stop and reload with impunity, knowing nobody is gonna take him out so he was able to put all his focus into hitting his targets. But, I don't want to drag the thread into another gun control debate. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

A Swedish expert of social media have taken a close look at both his Twitter and Facebook accounts. They both were created 17th of July and his theory is that ABB had a very well thought out plan how he wanted to be presented in the media, after the killing spree.

He had seen how the media had used quotes and pictures from other terrorists/mass murderers social media accounts, and wanted to give a certain apperance. The pictures he left is almost like "press pictures", taken in a studio.

ABB did have another Facebook account earlier. This girl has blogged about how she was friends with him there, she did not know him personally. But back then she was a member of a Swedish nationalistic party so she added him because of mutual interests.
