Let me guess, you can't grow a beard?

Seriously though, I agree with maybe just doing away with it altogether. while I was raised catholic I haven't been to church in about 12 years. I haven't felt the need to try something else, I'm happy with not paying attention to religion at all.

Or was it that your beard grows in patchy? I'd make a great muslim, got a thick beard!

I'm sorry but your post makes me giggle

Converting from Islam to judaism is like trying chalk to become cheese.

If you do have your heart set on converting to judaism, you have to understand it is primarily an inheritance, thats not to say you cannot convert, but that generally speaking it is a religion you are born into. If you really are hellbent on following this path, I wouldn't be quick to mention your dalliance with other religions, as it could mean a longer conversion.

I am assuming you to be very young and impressionable, but the best advice would be for you to not make any decisions about religious allegance, and just enjoy being you.

We should not allow religion to define us, nor feel we need religion to belong. Try focusing on yourself a lttle more, about what you believe, never feel you need to be directed how to think and feel.

Just be, and I'm sure the answers will find you, without the need for commitment to any one belief system.

That gent who just won the court case for being a Pastafarian and being able to wear the spagatti strainer on his head is looking for a few good folks. Maybe you should ring him up.

"Key to the beliefs of pastafarians is that the world was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, but, owing to the monster being inebriated at the time of creation, it has a flawed design. "

Sad.

Really? You are going to convert to Islam, then convert to Judaism? That is a joke and an insult to both religions. How about you just live according to your own moral code and stop cheapening the religions of others. Some people actually convert to those religions to change their lifestyles and become better people, they don't just dabble.

In my opinion "moderates" are the bane of religion. Have some dam conviction. Make a stand somewhere. If the religion doesn't fit your lifestyle, don't dabble in it.

Ideally it would be nice if they held religious markets where all the different religions had stalls set up. That way you could browse and sample some of the different flavours of religion before you decided on one. As it is, I guess its mainly trial and error.

Hi,
In a recent thread, I mentioned that I was thinking of giving Islam a go.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Thanks for all the tips! However I tried Islam for a couple of weeks and the thing is, it didnt really work out very well. I am now considering swapping Islam for Judaism to give that one a try. I figure I need to at least allow a couple of weeks to give it a fair chance.
Islam and I had a few disagreements, mainly about my fornicating alcoholic lifestyle.
Anyone else have any experience of conversion from Islam to Judaism? Any tips or tricks that would help the transition would be much appreciated.

I've found journals, over 150 of them, free online, of stuff that was channelled by beings including Jesus (But he claims his actual name was Jmmanuel at the time, and it was changed to Jesus at a later date), Judas Iscarioth (Who Jmmanuel immediately clears of any wrongdoing and accuses one Juda Ihariot, Jmmanuel claims Judas to be his 'Brother' and best friend for his whole life journey...and later you discover just how much of a 'Brother' Judas really was), The Angel Gabriel (Who is a higher being from the Angelic realms), Commander Hatonn, Ashtar, and some more.

These texts go into pretty much the daily stuff spoken here on ATS. Weather weapons, Trilateral commission, MJ-12, Alien greys, Pleaiadians, The whole universal design, the purpose of life.....so so much. Metaphysics....oh, and Jesus claims something in these texts, he claims that when they beat him while he was wearing the purple robe, he tells of how they will be cursed by a false prophet in 500 years time, and his name was Mohammed and his teachings would cause their people so much pain and tragedy over the years.

These beings go on further to explain the universe, to help understand free energy, and how Tesla's inventions worked. I mean, there is a lot of info.

It's either one very elaborate hoax, or an incredible gift. Considering it's free, it was worth a look in, and it speaks volumes about topics of the alternative nature.

Ya, here's the thing: The drinking and fornicating are kind of a deal-breaker. All the Judeo-Christian-type religions frown upon that sort of thing.

Now, you could argue that a frown is just a facial expression and not a real "rule." But that would be missing the point. The point is that you gotta be way up in the hierarchy and have lots of lackeys and co-dependents to cover for you before it's acceptable.

So you're gonna have to either found your own "religion" or go with one of the more lenient, non-Judeo-Christian types. I'm thinking maybe The Church of the Subgenius. I think you'd like it. They never reject anyone. And, for a small donation, you can start right at the top as an Ordained Minister....

OP the main difference between Judaism and Islam is that one practices the Egyptian circumcision of the male child (a sexual ritual) and the other focuses its knife on the girl child. Mohammed told them to just 'prick' the little girl's clitoris so as to wake her sexually, similar to how circumcision affects the male child. Really, it is a gender-separation between these two Egyptian religions, and that can be seen in how they apply the sexual genital cutting, as the Egyptians did. What's sad is that they lose all the righteousness of sexuality byt going way overboard, like denying sex to the followers, and outright removal of the girl child's clitoris. So really you will not find any kind of sanity in either of these religions. These two tribes are on either side of a maelstrom and neither can see that they are both going down.

Try Buddha it’s not really a religion, more like a way a living, you don’t have to give up you’re heathen ways and won’t be sent to hell for having a beer. Live your life, search for knowledge and don’t screw anybody over. It’s easy.

If you fail religion just after a couple of weeks then my best guess is stop with religion.

If you can't make up your mind then just try to start listen to your heart...

Yes, and this person is spot on, for humanity, this really is the 'life outlook' that everyone should have.

Buddhism teaches about the inner-self, rescinding the 'duality' and returning oneself into oneness, while aiding in understanding the universal concept...and I really do mean UNIVERSAL.

Maybe you should believe in yourself. Why is it a necessity to have a group of strangers tell you what to do, what to think, how to act. Society and the governments have enough chains on freedom do you need to add more?

You can convert to Judaism, but it is a tough road as you basically have to go through all the learning that Jewish children do before their Bahmitsvah before being called "Jewish".

You can also convert to Hinduism as well...

As for the OP, seems you are a tad confused. Trying out religions for a few weeks, swapping around between them all. By virtue of the fact you seem willing to chop and change shows your more looking for somewhere to belong, rather than have any deep seated religious convictions.

What you are looking for in a religion that you don't already have?

You want to become a better person? You feel obligated to be a part of some religion because everyone else is?

How about you forget about religion & just focus on yourself & your life quality? When it's your time to leave this planet are you going to be happy with what you've done during your life?

The reason people are happy with religion is because as humans we strive to be a part of a community, & religion provides that for us.

God is within each of us. You will not find HIM, SHE, IT or THEY in any organized religion. All are very different. If it is of comfort you seek, find one close to your own personal beliefs.

I know of a Hindu married to a Catholic, and their one son is a practicing Jew, one is a Mormon and the only daugther is a Jehovahs Witness. All different, but a loving family...with very animated discussions at the dinner table.

Dont spend your life looking. One that does...never seems to find it. Search within for what suits you and your inner beliefs. God Bless you.

Yeah, I don't think Judaism is going to be any better at accepting a fornicating alcoholic lifestyle. Surely you know this?
Heck, I don't think any religion would be very welcoming of a fornicating alcoholic lifestyle, except perhaps satanism.
