Thank you for sharing your story. Sadly, some people will still blame you for taking "their" money. It saddens me. I am more than happy to pay into this. If I were given the choice to participate, then i would. Not only does it give me security in the future, it gives me security in the present knowing that it is necessary to have thier program in order to ensure that people are cared for when they can't bring in income from their labor.

As far as your injuries and illnesses, Greensage's post says you should just "heal thyself" and all your problems will be solved so you don't have to take his/her money anymore, you socialist you!

I have not yet read a thread so indicitive of the way America is being torn apart. Tearing at each other in such a bitter way only helps those that seek to divide you. I can't think of any rational sane person whatever their politics who does not see that Central Banks and the Fractional Rerserve system as the cause of the whole World's problems. However you prefer the law of the jungle they create and see each other as the easier targets 'cos after all they're the big bad wolf. Much easier to pick on somebody with a fused disc.
Yes I hope you do hold onto your Constitution however it is not 1776 anymore. You seem to look on it as if it was golden for all. As if there were no failed farms, no failed bussinesses, infant deaths, maternal deaths. Very little if any schooling or education ad infinitum ad nauseum.
Now that we have members of the legislature drawing weapons on people it's now 1876 and the wild west. So it's only taken you nigh on 250yrs to advance 100yrs, way to go!

A nation is judged by how it looks after its own. There is no honor is selfishness. If theres a money system then equality is needed, and that means there will be disabled, elderly and moms with young children and all the things that really count. If there is money, therefore scarsity there will also be slavery and unemployment as well.

I don't believe in money. I believe in the Venus type projects, with complete equality and everyone equalized including those who can't contribute for a time or permanently.

Anything else is evil and heartless and not progression.

Share and share alike. Everyone is family. Stop blaming other people.

In a monied system there shouldn't even be these things separately, but one guaranteed income, everyone universally gets a check, some maybe 50 a month tax break, others a much larger amount, and everyone should be over the poverty line for their family size.

Again, however, I believe in a system of equality without money. But that would take a lot of grass roots cooperation, understanding, respect and organization, because it would be really bad deal if run by tptb.

My dad is disabled. Of course, in life we are always one step away from disability. If they want their damn money, they can have it. I will find a way to take care of my father. Sure, we may live on the cheapest food, but we will prevail the best we can.

The US government has a long history of breaking its promises and why should this one be any different?

What goes around comes around and ultimately they will get what they sow.

My mom went through hell an high water for years to get a $625 check every month.

That is what she gets. $625 a month. She gets $150 or so for food stamps.

Before she finally proved that she can't work, she didn't work. She would try but would get fired because her back would go out and she'd miss day or so. Sometimes her doctor wouldn't release her for work but she would still get fired because this is a right to work state. She had a few jobs in a few years and was let go from every one because of her absences due to her degenerative disk disease. She stopped working all together because she started going down hill and it was pointless to get a job if they were just going to fire her for absenteeism.

She supported my sister and I, two teenagers at the time, off of my dad's $1,000 child support check every moth. That was it. That was all.

To everyone else:

These people aren't rollin' in the dough. They aren't living the life. They are barely scrapping by taking YOUR money and you want them to receive none?

Some of you think charities will solve the problem? Then why don't you look at the money coming out of your paycheck as a charity to these people. You think a charity is going to hand someone a monthly, cost of living check for years on end? What charity would you donate to that would be able to support an entire demographic of people i this country who would otherwise be homeless on the street?

Do you have problem with people who can't work in general? Or is it the fact that your money is being taken by force"?

I appreciate your line of thinking. The same people who decry socialism obviously support capitalism. Yet, they have no answers to how to take care of those who can't take part in our capitalism, a system that is ruthless when you don't have the resources to produce labor or products, because of uncontrollable or unforeseen circumstances. I implore these people to take a long hard look at what happens in societies who leave the sick, elderly, and young to fend for themselves.

It's barbarous.

I am going to reveal something here, and if the ATS Mods feel it is not allowed, please delete the post.

It's merely speaking of two 'charitable' agencies, Catholic Charities, and The Salvation Army.

Back in 2000, while I was homeless, I was in a motel room to escape the searing heat of summer. On the phone, I made calls to both these places, this was in the city of Chicago. I decided to reveal to them my plans to commit suicide, and they were both ice cold to me. I asked one, "Well what do you do then? And this older ice cold sounding woman snapped, "We counsel." The other one said, just like this, "Show up at an emergency room."

I had previously approched VA hospitals, and finally, in 2002, a VA hospital took me in and finally had the correct program for me, to save my life. In 2001, I thought I'd give my self one more chance to try and "pull myself up by my own bootstraps" and then after that if no luck, I would go and kill myself.

They passed ObamaCare so the "death panels" could get rid of the retirees complaining about not getting their SS checks... just thinking to myself. He pissed off a lot of people with his statement. They stole your money and now they will get rid of you... makes me sick.

Don't panic yet. Like I discussed with my 74 year old mother today, I doubt this will become reality. I feel it's a threat and a below-the-belt threat at that. Kind of low if you ask me. If it comes to pass, then yes I would help my mother out with food/groceries, etc. to the best of my ability. That is what would happen I believe; families helping each other to survive.

Are you serious?

Your worried about how she spends dough AFTER she receives it?
I oppose the whole thing. This just highlights the one absurdity of the system.

Originally posted by niceguybobI've been paying into SS since I was 13 years old. My statement clearly states I've paid in the maximum to receive a check that has now been postponed until I'm 67.

Give me back my money,no interest, and we'll call it even.

OK..How about, stop with holding that money from my check and we'll call it even?
I agree with that even though I am fairly sure you are being sarcastic.

I'm only sounding sarcastic because I'll never see the money.

I have no plans on Uncle Sam helping me when I get old.

There will be too many people finding out there IS no SS for them after they paid in their whole lives. A WHOLE lot of 65 year olds with pissed off attitudes.

You think those youngen's are going to pay off our old debt and previous commitments and keep us alive?

I've seen the movie, and read the book Logans Run.

Since the book 1984 is becoming truth, watch out for Logans Run.

For those that don't know,Logans Run is about an"exterminator" that hunts down people after they turn 30 and exterminates them. You have a Green inplant in you hand until you turn 30, and it turns red and you must surrender to die.

Logan is an exterminator until his hand turns red and he decides he wants to keep living...

Thus Logans run.

AM I being sarcastic now?

I am a single mother of three barely pulling in 2k (that's what a college degree gets you now days) a month and 3/4 of that goes for housing electric and food. How the heck am I supposed to support my 84 year old grandparents and a disabled uncle. Don't tell me charities because charities are going to be beyond overwhelmed. Its a 5 year waiting list for rental assistance here and there is no help for utilities at all period.

If this happens be prepared for the 2nd revolution, because I guarantee this will be it. The people receiving SSI won't be the only ones affected. Their landlords, the utilities companies, the stores where they buy their food, the pharmacies where they purchase their medications, need I go on?

For the record, A LOT of people that have collected SS when they turned 62 were NOT allowed to make too much money or they lost their SS benefits.

The SS paid more money then the extra dough they were trying to earn.

If you were getting $800 bucks a month SS, and earned more then $400 working part time, they disqualified you for the $800. You would only be eligable for about $280.00. in SS benefits. Net Loss.

Your old, trying to make some extra dough, but would lose the gaurentee $800.

Guess what? You learn how to live off the $800.00

It's a Design to Fail.

I went through all this crap with my Dad.

He only paid in about $12,000 his whole life.

He's collected over $14,000 a year for 20 years.

How do those numbers work for you?

So, basically, the money I paid in,went to my Dad,because it won't be there when it's my turn to collect.

They call it FRAUD and a PONZI SCHEME in the real world. And it's criminal with jail sentances.

When the Government does it?

Build another layer.

I am sorry for you nunya, as you are well aware the economy is not going to recover and any and all support you and your family are getting is going to stop. Period! Without question.

I have personally seen miracles. I saw a man three years on dialysis suddenly have his kidneys wake up! I kid you not. The thing is the system does not heal the spine they cut it and fuse it and then it is worthless; I have hurt my back to the point where I could not move for months, I simply allowed myself to heal by slowly recovering and utilizing a chiro when I could. I had my support mechanisms called Family and I was blessed by those that Loved me!

The system failed you not me, and the system will kill you not me! Sorry about your Mom, it's going to be a bad road ahead otherwise so I hope you are able bodied.

So don't say "slipped disc" "slipped disc" to me because I have seen worse overcome and I have see the dead recover! I spent years as a Nurses Aid and I know people, I have seen it all!

You sound like you are lost in it and I am very sorry for you, it is time to Heal or let go because it is going to get really ugly really fast! Can you not see? Can you not read the signs! Your way of Life is ending!

You "doubt this will become a reality" because you are a good person who cannot believe humanoids could be that ice cold diabolical, but, Oh Yes They Can.

Here is a story about how Republican Paul Ryan and two economist friends were out in a restaurant having wine that came to $700.00, while he was trying to figure a way for average people to never be able to afford such.

Didn't the government say the same thing a couple months ago? I remember my friends on the program saying they may not get their checks at the start of the month. Once again, they are putting fear into the people. Last time it didn't happen, most likely wont this time either (I hope).

The long and the short of this, eventually it's going to happen - it's just a matter of when. When it does, unemployment wont matter...between that and this America is screwed! One of the other posts today stated that only 50 plus Americans are employed, add on those not getting their checks, and those who are displaced from fires, floods, etc...America is going down the tubes fast!

Where is the hope?!?!?!

There wont be enough jobs left to support the baby boomers or enough people in the workforce,

but I think in August people will get their checks,

That IS really good wine though.

Not worth $350.00 a bottle because of the mark up.

But..that ain't no sleeper.(Ya don't have to lay it down and wait for it to wake up and age..it's ready!!)

Probably not in good taste to spend that kind of dough..but..that's some good chit.

There is a reason you are a nurses aide and not a nurse, you are a complete MORON!!
With your ridiculous apathetic and compassionless statements, you need to find a new line of work.

It is so obvious that you have no working concept of the human spine, because if you did you would understand
that someone with a slipped or herniated disc is so beyond a chiropractor, it's ludicrous
for you to make that statement.
