They are saying it is military jets causing sonic booms? Do you buy that? It just seems like if it were that, people would be used to it, and not freak out. That's what makes me think that it ISN'T jets.....know what I mean? Thanks for the heads up and keep me posted. Have you heard it today?

I am too far inland to hear the booms and I usually only hear the roar.

Interesting that I heard the roaring sound today at approximately the same time they heard the booms.

Wish we could figure it out ....I am leaning towards siesmic activity in the ocean.

You know, it could be some of both seismic and atmospheric. I've been watching the live feed from the ISS for a long time, and lately, I've seen some things that strike me as odd. It's the hue of the earth the past few weeks....a different sort of blue...hazy...and the cloud patterns seem different. It could be the lens, or whatever....but I just get a strange feeling watching it lately. Another thing is that it has been "off air" lately. This is something new. It used to be on 24/7 unless there was a normal loss of communication (which happens as it passes over certain areas)....in which case the Nasa logo would be put up for a very brief time until the signal returned. NOW however, it says "off air"....as if it is being intentionally blocked . I don't know, but I just feel this noise is something going on above us (which maybe is affecting the Earth seismically for that matter). LOL! I hope I am making sense.....it's hard for me to put into words. I am going to record some footage and post it to show you what I mean about the hazy blue description.

I am over in the UK (midlands area) and it's 21:49 here.
About an hour ago I heard this sound that was close to what others have posted. I couldn't record it for all the fireworks going off - but I heard it no question. Never heard anything like that before round here even though am close to an airport. Went on for 4-5 minutes then just stopped. Weirdest thing ever.

Kat

I was reading the thread on the earthquake in Oklahoma .

I was shocked to find that a poster in Kansas City, MO experienced a loud roaring sound like jets at approximately the same time as the earthquake in Oklahoma. Because that is quite a distance , it makes me even more convinced that what I am hearing here is seismic related .

Please read dreamseekers post here. www.abovetopsecret.com...

Interesting!! I have been extremely nervous since yesterday morning. I'm not the nervous type
I was alarmed when I heard of these quakes....and now the report of a "jet engine" sound.) Thanks for pointing that out BTW! Here's an interesting side note. Yesterday, for the first time in many months. I heard the roar again. I ran in to get my camera, and by then it wasn't very loud at all. I did a few recordings, so asap, I'll review them to see what I've got....I'll be checking in all day today!

Did the time you heard the roaring sound coincide with the times of the earthquakes in Oklahoma ?

It was much earlier than those quakes I think....around 7 yestrday evening. Do you know when they started?I am FURIOUS right now
We have been hearing it off and on for the last 30 minutes, and I tried to record it, but I had no new batteries for my camera, and the one in it were dead....sigh..... The neighborhood dogs were going crazy, and it was LOUD. Sending someone to Walmart to get more.....but now you can barely hear it. I'll be ready if it starts again though.

Yes it was Guy Fawkes night over here.
I was actually in bed (been ill) around that time - had drifted off, and when I woke back up it was this sound I could hear.
I stayed in bed, wondering for a minute whether it was just me and trying to place the sound. When I realised it was not just in my head and looked out the window the sound only happened a few more times.
I really cannot place where it came from - but it was the weirdest sound I ever heard. The fireworks carried on for a few more hours but I did not hear that sound again.

I will make sure I record what I can on either phone or camera if have to hand if I hear it again.

I know what you mean....I have trouble describing what I heard....I liken it to the sound of waving a sheet of aluminum with a roar mixed in

I don't know if you have read all of my posts so I will give you a quick synopsis.

I have heard the "roaring jet sound " here , 30 miles inland from the Atlantic , since before the March earthquake in Japan.

There have been "booms" 30 miles to my east in Ocean City, Md for the past 3 wks.

I am thinking that the booms & roaring noises are seismic related and was very interested to hear that you heard the sound before or during the Oklahoma earthquake.

Thank you for posting .

About 180 miles to the east..........

it could be some of both seismic and atmospheric.

Now I'm back to the example of the Singing Sand Dunes. Since there are no fault boundaries
like we have in California, the quake was felt over a large area & the roar was heard all the way to KC.
Maybe the friction is causing this just like the dunes, except on a larger scale.

I'm from KC originally & have a couple of messages to some old friends
asking if they heard anything.

Well....that is something to think about! We need a geologist, a meteorologist, and a scientist ASAP!
