Even if dual citizens were to be eliminated from government,

it may not make any difference.

instead of serving as a government "official",

many would simply become lobbyists and/or advisers.

i would bet this is the majority case now anyway.

there are many "foreigners" involved as it is.

A piece of paper doesn't necessarily indicate where ones loyalties lie, though since there is little conflict between Israeli and US interests, perhaps it should not be of great concern.

However - US Muslims have a very clear conflict of interests and loyalties - indeed as a Muslim your first loyalty is allways to Islam and the Umah - and further it is your religious obligation to support Jihad in its many forms to further the subjugation of Infidels to Islam,

The same could be said of the Zionist and their support of Israel. And you really should get out and meet a few Muslims you'll find out how wrong you are about them.

i would also like to interject that not all "dual citizens" owe allegience to nations abroad.

theres plenty of american indian citizens right here at home.

i am an american citizen and a citizen of the chickasaw nation, would you have a problem with me holding a position in office (for that reason?)?

Actually no, I would love it if you did. See, not only do you live on the same continent with me (like other dual citizens) but your 'other homeland' is within US borders. I do not see how you could have a conflict of interest in terms of our shared natural environment, our common homeland so to speak.

Besides that, I have the utmost respect for native American Indians and their stewardship of the Earth as a whole. That one statement may make me sound biased... but to be fair, you are, in a very real sense, a resident in this country who has doubly strong allegiance to (and only to) the lands within the confines of US borders. This, to me, is paramount. This cannot be said of dual citizenship with any other country on the face of the Earth. I don't think.

This is what I feel.

If thats the case then I suggest you stay away from your doctors and you ought to turn off your plasma TVs and shut down your internet and turn off your computer, because without Israel's technology, none of those things would work.

Huh? Really? All of the above is Israeli technology? (I am not being the least bit sarcastic... my response is due to the fact I have never heard this, nor considered it before. Just pickin' my chin up off the floor is all.) May I request a source, please. This would create an intriguing twist to my current paradigm, so I'd like to review the facts as you know them.

Care to cite & source EXACTLY what US regulation supports this crazy statement?

Can I get a response to this, or do we give gem a pass to say all sorts of stupid things without a lick of proof, simply because he is being his old anti-Israel self?

I want to know WHERE exactly it says that ONLY Israelis are permitted dual citizenship.

Come on bigots; prop your boy up here.

Yeah, I'd like to see some sources as well. As far as I can tell professors from University of Illinois invented plasma display in the 1960's.

inventors.about.com...

I also don't know what this has to do with the topic of this thread.

Dual citizenship or not, these people would still be in the pockets of a foreign state. It's about money, not paperwork.

Israel has more US military air defense protecting it than our nations Capitol, Washington DC.

It's pretty obvious where the United States real controllers are....

Israel has our THAAD missile defense protecting them, OUR Patriot Batteries....all manned with OUR Army soldiers....OUR US Navy Aegis ships....OUR secret Directed Energy systems....OUR other systems like Phalanx and SeaRam........

All over there protecting little ole Israel.

On the surface I can't imagine any honest person claiming dual citizenship is a good idea. Moreover that discussion would lead towards "it should not be allowed" as it clearly could involve conflict of interests.

Sadly, I've found self-interest triumphs once one mixes politics with morality.

there should be no dual citizenship allowed at the higher levels of government period(not elected officials thats up to the voters) its tacticaly and stategically unsound. all you would need is the ability to buy politicians and a very small number of insiders and you could wield great influence in say convincing our govt to just give a foriegn country 27 billion dollars in aid per year not exactly a coup de grace but definatly a potential conflict of interest.

i think you can question the loyalties of a person with dual citizenship. were they born and raised some where else? raised as an american but added a citizenship for religous reasons? not trying to equate dualies with treason but why take the risk at upper levels of govt.

Ignore that its Israel. They aren't solely American citizens and, therefore, have interests other than serving America. The only proof you need to validly question their loyalty is that they hold dual-citizenship.

Would help to remind you and others that ALL our founding fathers became dual-citizens and set the example?

'Would help to remind you and others that ALL our founding fathers became dual-citizens and set the example? '

I suggest this clearly was not a benefit, but a necessary hinderance. Our founding fathers were not gods, nor were they infallible.
Would you suggest we hobble ourselves with their liabilities, or instead seek out those who CLEARLY have the best long term interests of the US (not US/Israel) as their goal?

It's the same reason why members of congress are not eligible to vote on subsidies to corporations when they have been employed by them or have some kind of connection with a particular company. It's considered a conflict of interest.

There's no difference here.

If Arnold had to vote on foreign aid to Austria, his vote should be excluded because of his ties to that country. A perfect example of an elected official that has a conflict of interest is Senator Joseph Lieberman. He would sell America to Israel if he had the chance.

Don't be fooled with Gem Man's quest for honest opinions.
The subject of dual citizenship was brought up thousands of times since 9-11.
The OP is obsessed with bashing Israel, even if it means bringing old issues again and again.
You can be 100% sure this subject wouldn't be here if it was a matter of other nationalities.

Let me remind you – Gem man was caught lying, a long time ago, saying he frequently visit Israel on business,
just to make him appear neutral and familiar with the middle east.
He is neither.

You lost all credibility mister.

Would you care to offer any evidence of lying? I thought not as there is none. I in fact travel to Israel 4-6 times each year on business usually staying at Opticon Towers in Ramat Gan. Your feeble attempt to discredit me simply exposes your weakness. i.e. being exposed to facts and being forced to deal with them.
