Here is a look at the sophistication and beauty of a huge segment of humanity, and I only wish, that freedom would prevail, religions or spiritual pursuits seen as that which nourishes the soul, and gives respite, but not a way of life, custom, law, and institute for justice. That their culture can be appreciated by the world, their music, which is beautiful, dance, (I love belly dancing), much the way, Greece, has its own culture, Italy, Portugal. Why is it that we are living in a world with so much fascism? And why assume there are not large numbers aware, who can't change things that the bloodlines dictate, anymore than we seem to be able to affect our leaders here?

There is plenty of facism in the Islamic world. Islam is meant to work as a socio-political system, not simply as a religion. The truth is that the majority of Muslims would want Islam embedded within an authoritarian type of government. And that's pretty much what you will see in most Islamic countries. Western women are not safe to go about in these nations because of how they are viewed by Muslim men.
Consider that in Islamic nations women are forbidden to go outside witout a male escort or without a hijab/burka, they're no more than second-class citizens. I've been told numerous times from people who have lived and traveled there that it is not a place they would want to live because their customs are at odds with the ones of the west.

Wanting democracy is one thing...applying it is another...And quite frankly...I don't believe Muslims are up to it. If there are enough Muslims, they would not allow it because it gives too many freedoms and freedoms that may go against the rules of the Quran.

Society, culture, humanity is the most fascinating study there is, lands and people.

No it's not...it's redundant, stupid...and very predictable.

You're not a muslim, so obviously have NOT been around anywhere near as many muslims as I have, yet you feel you have the authority to tell people what "the truth is" about muslims????

Everybody wants to teach, nobody wants to learn. Arrogance is the damned disease that's killing this country.

What the hell is this? I gave you the link to the actual stats in the original posting, and you quoted back to me every word in my post EXCEPT for the link to those actual stats!!

Well...the entire points is that, with statistics like these:

it really doesn't matter which of you guys knows most about a certain population/region/religion/tradition. The numbers don't lie...........do they??

The numbers tell a picture of at BEST a couple of thousand muslims in Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, Indonesia, Turkey, and Lebanon. And even THEY all have differing opinions..

Do you realize it's 1.6 BILLION muslims around the WORLD in almost EVERY country!?!?!

There are hundreds of millions of violent extremist muslims in the world.

There are also hundreds of millions of peaceful ones, but that is not sufficient to change the image when the extremism is so high.

I have nothing against peaceful muslims, but as long as things are what they are, they will be approached with caution and distrust, as potential members of possibly the most violent cult on the planet.

There is only one way to change this, and that is to get rid of the extremists. Empty words will not be sufficient.

The numbers represent the opinion of hundreds of millions of muslims. Do you know how statistics work? You dont have to interview everyone to get accurate results.

Really? How do you know this? Have you gone door to door asking who's a terrorist and who isn't?
Where do you come up with these numbers at? The body count kind of doesn't match up with "hundreds of millions of violent extremist muslims".. It more so matches up with "these f***ing losers"....

So again, please do explain your method of obtaining that figure..

Really? So I can walk into a church in the south and say "HEY DO YOU OPPOSE HOMOSEXUALITY???" and then post a study online saying:

92% of Americans oppose homosexuality!

....is that then representative of 300 million Americans??

If I was Zorro I'd slap you with my glove.

Here are some views, expressed with clarity by a divergent thought of UK muslim women.

I think documentaries and interviews are very useful as well.

She's a Thoroughly Modern Muslim; part 1

She's a Throughly Modern Muslim; part 2

She's a Throughly Modern Muslim; part 3

She's a Thoroughly Modern Muslim; part 4

Is it just me, or does it seem that with age comes wisdom ,and that fundamentalism seems to be targeting youth more?

Someone should make a survey in these same countries and ask the same muslims if they would like Islam to have an active role within their government.

I can guarantee you the majority would say 'yes'...to that.

Question: Why the FLIP does it matter? It's THEIR country!
The arrogance of some!!

If I say I wanna raise my children spaking them, and you say you wanna raise your children without, who the EFF am I to question what you do, in YOUR house?!?

You live here, so why does what anybody else do with THEIR country have ANYTHING to do with you!??

Yes...Yes....
Now stop your whining because I don't care if they do. They can live in some third world Islamic cesspool for all I care...Stop trying to make drama where it doesn't exist.
My point is that the majority of Muslims will never truly understand what Democracy is because they cannot apply it themselves. And yet..they flee to the West to escape these Islamic totalitarian regimes.

Just a bunch of hypocrites...That's all the survey shows.

Dude, I said muslims are in almost every country on the planet, not just the 7 surveyed, so yes, it is subjective..

Last I checked Athens was the cradle of democracy not the middle-east.
But you claim Muslims want democracy. I claim they're hypocrites...Because they would never allow it.
Is that simple statement really that hard for you to follow?

Just add up the population of surveyed countries times the percentage of extremists. You will get a few hundreds of millions, by my rough estimate. Extremists are also in other countries, too. All in all, it is a very high number, and a serious cause for concern. Not a tiny minority, but often a majority in their countries are violent extremists.

I think it was some famous American (just cannot remember his name) who said, " there are lies, damned lies, and statistics" I do the odd survey now and again, helps pass the time, some questions are so 'loaded' I just delete the survey.

I thought I knew but you make me question. Since you are able, please explain how statistics work and what valid conclusions can be drawn for them.

You dont have to interview everyone to get accurate results.

ac·cu·rate
   /ˈækyərɪt/ Show Spelled[ak-yer-it] Show IPA
–adjective
1.
free from error or defect; consistent with a standard, rule, or model; precise; exact.
2.
careful or meticulous: an accurate typist.

You see, that's where you lost me. I can understand that if you interview 99 out of 100 people, you will get a 99% "accuracy" rate......... That's 1% possible error.......that's not accurate......that's an estimate.

So your line should read:

You dont have to interview everyone to get estimated results.

Than I agree but I have to ask, what's the usefulness of estimates??

Peace
