I may be wrong but I think he implied that Obama got elected because the black segment of the population would vote for Obama...if so I hope this would be true for Mr.Herman Cain as well, but since Mr.Cain is not promising something for nothing I doubt it.

BTW - I dont support any candidate yet...though I do like Dr.Paul a bit more than the rest. I guess I am racist, no wait I cant be I am American/Iranian so you cant say I am racist or attack me : ) j/k

Its interesting, in Latin america they are more racist than American's, in the Middle East they are more racist than American's and in Asia well obviously they are, but its always the Americans that get the grunt of it on this forum...

Even if he did imply it ,as another poster pointed out, how many white people didn't vote for Obama just because he was half black. They had exit polls where people flat out stated I'm not ready for a black President.

This is the equivalent of damning all white middle aged men because Lehman Brothers executives are white, middle aged men.

I half agree. Kids do have the desire to steal stuff, and they sometimes act on it. I disagree that this is just a different method of "same old same old."

Maybe it is though. Maybe I am just projecting my way of thinking onto people without justification for doing so. I was raised and many of the people I know were raised not to take things that arent yours, period. Even if you knew you would not get caught. If someone gives me too much change, and even if the ATM machine kicks me an extra $20, I give it back. I dont keep it.

Maybe most people really arent like that. It sure didnt seem that way to me growing up. I knew people like that, (who would steal if they thought they would not get caught) but the majority of people I knew were not like that. The majority of people I knew and grew up with, especially the adults, didnt steal for internal reasons, not out of fear of getting caught.

Being as your from New York I seriously doubt that you will, New Yorkers have been known to disappear around here. I work in the worst parts of Birmingham every day. I remodel rental houses mostly section eight houses. These young blacks have been taught that they are owed something. How the heck do you work in section 8 homes and declare that the residents have more than you? A blatant lie, same as the Reagan "Welfare Queen" illusion he created. So the residents get a income tax check every year and with it buy EVERYTHING nice they will have for a year, ie, flat screen tv, dvd, ipod, etc.

You and I have jobs and can do these things when we want, we don't have to wait for a income tax check (which before you start is given to them because they're so poor, instead of paying taxes they're owed a refund).

I'm black, and I don't recall anyone EVER telling me I'm owed anything...has any other black person witnessed this?

The PC process makes the situation worse. By not reporting this in the news, by not chasing these people committing these crimes down and punishing them, and getting the word out that they are getting hit with heavy penalties, they are only encouraging this activity.

The whole PC claim about aiming to heal racial tensions only serves to make them worse.

PC is part of the divide and conquer plan, always has been.

I think Jimnuggits said it best with the problem being, "no role models, no education, no direction"! And though Jimnuggits puts emphasis on education, I would put emphasis on role models and direction. Even education can be used for bad without good role models and direction once they're educated. So, maybe the bigger question is...why doesn't anyone want to become a good role model any more? Can you say SELFISH??? That is the underlying problem and no one cares enough to do anything about it...and that, my friends, is the sad reality!!!

I should mention the friend I was hanging out was poor...poor white trash neighborhood is a good enough description of it (white hood?). in my upper middle class residence, such things would not even be considered...but in that neck of the woods, things are different. For him, it might have been the norm, based on having nothing except temptation everywhere...for me, it was just the thrill of the moment overall...
