Its the cartels that are causing all the problems, and the mexican cartels are the "REAL DEAL" when it comes to drug gangs. They are not just some pushovers, these people will find out who there enemy is weather its military or police go to there familys houses and kill everyone with no remorse. You think Al queda is bad..lol. The mexican cartels have bosses and large organizations in Every major american city. The situation is extremelly dangerous for everyone both here in the US and Mexico.

In my opinion we the United states need to hit the cartel wher it hurts them the most. We need to lower there profit margins, and one step in that direction could actually be to legalize marijuana.

Just wondering whether this has anything to do with the flooding of the U.S. After all, Mexico was joined to the USA along with Canada as part of the NAU (North American Union) which was signed by Bush, yet unknown to the American people. If operation Blackjack was to happen then this would be a perfect opportunity to do it. It may not be Nuclear bombs but instead an attack on the nuclear facilities. after all, they're already in danger and an "attack" might just give them the opportunity to blame Syria, China, Iran or whoever else. troops are already moving within the US, Obama announces withdrawl of troops back home. interesting how Denver was chosen for the NWO airport. High ground in the middle of the country. almost like they knew it was gonna happen. anyway, good luck to the citizens of the US and please pay attention to things. (Jericho, Operation Blackjack) we can't afford not to. If it wasn't for ATS, I'd still be asleep.

I was joking. Apparently the humor of the situation was lost on you. Maybe their gps broke or the batteries wore out. Its really not that big a deal (the troops getting lost that is).

So should the same [sent back dead] have been done to the Americans that illegally cross into other nations territory, under the auspices of the military? Is it not the same law/s, or moral obligation that is being broken thus surely equally infuriating to yourself?

Perhaps more so, seeing as your [and I'm sure 'my' own] troops went into another nation intent on murdering somebody. You must hate your own nation.

That would be a step in the right direction. If drugs were legal, the cartels would but put out of business. Drugs are priced outrageously because they are illegal and that's why the cartel has power, they have money. Marijuana would be the same price as a head of cabbage (for about the same amount of said cabbage) if it were legal, effectively putting them out of business. Instead the government sits around while criminals makes a %9000 profit. I'm not condoning drug use. However, I think it should be regulated like cigarettes, or alchohol, or any other medical drug. The truth is anyone who wants drugs can find them easily. Prohibtion has done absolutely nothing but bring about criminal organizations.

The curious thing is that America had seen this phenemon in alcohol in the 1920's, yet there is still a distinction?

This going out on a limb, but I believe alcohol could possibly be responsible for more deaths (through violence, wrecks, or just overdose) then any all other substances combined.

My buddy Genaro and I were eating sushi yesterday and I was looking at news on my phone. I told him about this. We both were sort of laughing about "oh, there is nothing here. both of our governments are totally honest. They must have been lost".

Then I read the line SAYING THEY WERE LOST?! We about fell out of our chairs!

I was telling him that the only hope for mexico would be if we went in and just started kicking ass. My only caveat was that a lot of collateral damage would ensue.

He told me, "Dude, my people are dying anyway. At least then the ones lost in the fight would be some of the LAST ones to die".

That knocked me out.

I was telling him about the dissolution of the borders between mexico, us, and canada. he said, "well, theres your proof".

Here's how it gets done people.

You do a preliminary sweep with unmanned camera toting drones and CIA intelligence officers to find out EXACTLY where the enemy, the cartels, are both in Mexico and here in the U.S.. Then, you take couple of battalions of Army and Marines and storm their borders from all sides, north south east and west. Destroy the leaders, the workers, the coca and marijuana fields. Take it ALL out.

While all this is happening in a blaze of one sided glory, you have your special forces, Navy seals, the well trained and well paid human killing machines on the streets of every city where the cartels are here in the U.S., positioned to where they can take those bastards out when they start to mobilize their retaliation efforts. Put the snipers on the rooftops, the 3rd floor book depositories, anywhere they need to be to take the cartel members out with one shot per so they don't take out any American citizens in the process.

We have the skills, the intelligence and the resources to make this a clean and quick mop up operation of the filth that resides to the south of us and within our own borders. I see no reason why this should take longer than 6 months. Someone said that the Mexican cartel is the real deal. No arguments here. But our soldiers have the stomach and the experience to take out these cockroaches skillfully, quickly and with no remorse. And if the rest of America doesn't like what they see while it's happening, they shouldn't look.

As concerned as the military has to be about collateral damage overseas in the Middle East because of all the people who don't fully understand what a WAR is, we have to be doubly careful about that in the streets of the U.S. These are our neighbors and friends and fellow U.S. citizens, and if we should be concerned about not hurting anyone, it should be them

But it can happen. And it really.......REALLY should.

Yeah, I know. You've got your bleeding hearts that let their convictions blind them from what's really going on, but what can you do about that?

I have to go play catch with my daughter and help her with her pitching. I'll "re-butt" tomorrow.

Patriotism is great, when applied to the positive aspects of a culture/society.

What we are seeing here is a return to Fascist WWII type doctrines, however.

SO many people on here are outraged at this non-story, that it makes me wonder if they were just looking for something to spit their vitriol at.

Anyone remember that passage in 'The Once and Future King' when Merlin turns Arthur into a bird, and tells him to go and survey his 'kingdom'?

Arthur returns with a new perspective, seeing no Natural (God Made) borders between his kingdom and the ones next to it.

What's the moral?

WE ARE ALL ONE PEOPLE.

Period.

So now we're supposed to hate Mexicans because these troops got lost?

Or because there is an influx of opportunists coming to our cities?

"Recall the troops from Afghanistan to destroy the cartels in Mexico"

Between this awesome suggestion and the Nazi Mexicans, this thread is a real gem. We are really laying the smack down on drug trade in Afghanistan these days, eh? heh

the reason mexico and the rest of latin america are asleep is because of america. they're killing each other like animals trying to get you drugs.

and that's the least of their problems. the fact that an american puppet leads them, and that his only job is to protect american business, property and money, should give you an idea of what's going on there.

when a peasant crosses vast country and desert, puts his life on the line, in danger of falling into american backed assassination squads, risks starvation, dehydration and being caught by border guards who would start his journey all over again, if not worse, just to make $4/hrs on a farm, and that that $4 improves the quality of life of his family almost to reasonable standards, should shame anyone claiming to be american.

They got "lost" ... bull#. Return the next "lost" convoy in bodybags and it will never happen again. How many more times does this have to happen before Washington does something? Either the Mexicans are up to no good, or they need some serious remedial map reading classes; my bet is on the first part.

Yeah like US troops have never gotten lost in the middle east. And we don't have the adjacent boarder excuse. Grow up people.

Afghanistan: that's a cluster $&@#

we take the battalions in Iraq, and Libya, march into Mexico and take care of the drug cartels ourselves.

Obliterate the cartels. then let the Mexican people sort out the corrupt government.

Now that's a great idea get our troops out of all those countries and fix the mess south of the boarder. Given the fact it was our government that gave the cartels their latest arms shipment of AK's and RPG's I do not see us doing anything about it . I am fairly certain the CIA makes a lot of money off them boys to fund their black book projects while destroying america thru drug addiction.

Exactly.

There are no such thing as coincidences when it comes to drugs and money and politics.

Trust me you dont want to piss off someone who has millions of dollars to potentially lose by some self righteous idealist thinking they're going to change the way the US does business with Mexico.

You DEFINITELY dont want to get in the way of a B-B-B-Billion dollar industry. Thats a good way to get your self killed, after they kidnap and rape your wife and kids.

Everyone has so many great ideas on ATS (sarcasm)
