part of what is required for one to accept their "personal responsibility" is having a means to earn enough personal wealth to be able to take care of oneself!! and in general, most of the american people have been getting a smaller and smaller piece of that pie since the towers fell....

There is much there to cut, I agree. Dept of education is not a federal responsibility per the Constitution; CUT. Health and world hunger NOT federal gov responsibilities per the Constitution; CUT. Human services, community development NOT federal gov responsibilities per the Constitution; CUT. Environment and housing nt federal gov responsibilities per the Constitution; CUT. Now just look and see how much lower taxes could be. Maybe with such lower taxes, more jobs could be created so the parents could work and not need to suckle the government teat?

Cut welfare and aid it's about time those of us that work get a break. I chased 3 guys off last night trying to steal an old tractor of mine for scrap. I shoot first and ask questions later.

How long will it take for people to realize the lower taxes will create jobs is just a bunch of BS. They have been getting tax breaks for decades and still no jobs. Corporations have been making record profits while laying people off. All corporate welfare should stop after all there is nothing in the constitution that supports tax breaks for anyone.

Should cut all aid to Pakistan and instead send it to the aid for pregnant women.
Heck ... cut all aid to all those middle east countries ... let their oil rich brethren 'aid' them.
Imagine what we could do here at home with all that aid money coming to us instead of them!

You know, I have not problem with feeding the littler children due to our economic downturn and families losing their losing their homes and head of families losing their jobs.

But I see not reason why women will get pregnant knowing that they can not feed the children they have already and it has nothing to do with economic down turn but with welfare dependancy.

Here in the south we got plenty of that group, so I am divided on this one.

Don't forget that the US government is the biggest employer in the nation, that is why the graph shows the pentagon as the biggest spender.

If you have a decent job (40k plus) and one parent stays home (so no daycare expenses) it's quite easy to support a family.

Notice that that none of the posters coming out in support of these hypocritical cuts address the fact that while we are running historic deficits the House is cutting funding to those most affected by the Recession while increasing the Pentagon budget by billions more.

They are pretty much broken records at this point. Anything that isn't about making and throwing bombs at other countries isn't in the scope of the Federal government, and if someone is on WIC they must be a welfare queen who can't keep their legs closed...obviously it could never be someone who was fine before the recession but then lost their job and livelihood because of what the banks did.

It's just kind of sad at this point. And I want you to know most reasonable people know and understand that just because you use WIC to give your kids a healthy meal does not mean you are a welfare queen looking for a handout.

Not every mother gets pregnant knowing they can't feed the kid. Example: A woman works for company b which tells their employees how awesome their business is doing when they are secretly planning on moving operations to Mexico for cheap labor. Said woman gets pregnant thinking all is well and 9 months later finds herself destitute when her job goes vaminos.

Who is going to protect you from all those countries out there that hate the U.S.? I'm told most of them now hate us. Is it going to be the defense dept or the lady on welfare with 5 five kids? Pray tell how on earth did poor people survive BEFORE the U.S. printed and handed out free money to anyone and everyone? Sadly America deserves what it's turning into, just read most of the replies in this thread.

I'm not too afraid of any of those scary countries developing intercontinental ballistic missiles anytime soon. Don't try to scare me with your boogeymen. We've had enough of that since 9/11.

So, the current spending chart shows spending on what the original intent of the Fed Govt was for, National Defense.

I fail to see where the folly or failure of my neighbor justifies the stealing of my tax dollars to provide for them.

I will say that spending as a whole has gotten out of hand completely.
National defense can be scaled back by getting out of the ME. Since we really should let them take care of themselves and we are not allowing the Military to fight.
Spending on crap like Job Training, World Hunger, International Relations, Housing, Community Dev and Administration can be either removed completely if not cut by 75%.
