Yes and no,if you are in a large drain and it only fill's up 3/4's ,a life jacket may stop you drowning in the drain or when you you get flushed into the Yarra river fully clothed,small drain full of water your a dead man,

I was just taking a look for sacred Aboriginal locations and came upon this site which mentions a possible base in Port Douglas,Queensland.

Did you know that the main reason presidents and other world officials travel to Port Douglas appearing as tourists is for a "cover" because there is a huge underground base in the area? This is what I was told by local residents who just may know the truth! They told me that these dignitaries fly into the airport there or in Cairns before going out to the area west of there on business. There are supposedly many such underground facilities located throughout Australia. One resident even told me that it would not be a surprise to most Australians if they became the next state of the U.S.

After reading that I thought 'hmm interesting' and went searching around a bit. The wikipedia page for Port Douglas states that Bill Clinton was at Port Douglas when 911 occurred.

In November 1996 United States President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton chose the town as their only vacation stop on their historic visit to Australia. When dining at a local restaurant they witnessed a couple's wedding certificate. On a return visit on 11 September 2001, the then ex-President was again dining at the Salsa Bar and Grill, a local restaurant, when he was advised of the September 11 attacks. He returned to the United States the following day.

This would not bode well in the case of supposed sea level rises. I am not terribly sure that subterranean bases would serve much purpose in Australia in the event of a global catastrophe unless they were proven to be connected to others around the globe.

Hate to burst your bubble mate, but that airstrip is Millajiddee community . YMJD. South or Noonkanbah Community and Near Fitzroy Crossing in WA. Nothing secret about whats out there. Just lots of aborigionals, pertol sniffers and sand. Lots and lots of sand. Flown in there many times in my charter pilot days

Thanks for the info. I just went back to Google Earth to have another look and it is a different image to the original one I looked at. In the original there were definitely non natural structures adjoining the caverns/caves. It looks natural again now with no add ons. Odd. How many years since you flew out that way. Things do change. I spent time in the Territory in the '90's and went back recently. It's changed a lot. Even indigenous communities.

Here is what he says happened to a mate of his that got asked if he wanted to do the job.

he was picked up at the airport by military and driven to a motel, where he was left for 2 days. after that they picked him up but he was told to leave all his belongings and was told he had to go with them with nothing but the shirt on his back. he was driven at night to a location in the middle of nowhere where they made him strip and burned his closed before x raying him and providing him with all the clothes and other items he would need for the rest of the 6 months. He was told not to speak about his experiences but as Bob put it laborers never keep their mouths shut. Bob knows a lot more than he is letting on and from the tone of his voice he was keeping stuff back because he didnt want to endanger himself and the people that have been to these sites. i have done my best to maintain as much anonymity as possible so hopefully i havent revealed anything other than the fact that these bases exist

Yes these exist and one important point you miss about the selection process is the very strict confidentiality clause that these people would have signed prior to getting past step 1.

I was out there 6 weeks ago flying some doctors and centre link guys out there for the day. There is no caves or caverns out there. The GE shots are a bit decieving.

I actually live in the NT. Where abouts where you when you were up here?

If you want to talk about strange places and things, talk to a general aviation pilot (also known as a bug smasher) we see strange stuff all the time.

Are you talking about the Domain tunnel under the Yarra?? I remember driving thtrough there years after completion and water was still leaking down the walls... wasnt exactly water tight.

I dont know if the best place to build a bunker would be under a big river like the Yarra. Although it could be true. There was also the tunnels built for Eastlink.... that project was a massive cost blowout so maybe they incorporated some cost into extra tunnels within the tunnel area near Ringwood.

Eastlink, is just that... Eastlink. The blowout was the "blue wedges" (from memory) complaining about migratory patterns of a bird would be disrupted if the roar was continued to be built and the mullum mullum creek was moved (which Eastlink started the mullum-mullum movement process, which was costing a bombshell. This was the original plan and authorized by the Victorian Government, until the last minute).

Before anyone asks, i lived no more than 250 meters away from the entrance to Easlink during its construction, the foreman/construction companies actually let people go on tours down there (it never dawned on me to take a camera), there was nothing out of place, its just a tunnel, brightly lit in weird colors .

In saying that if you are interestd in underground bases in Victoria, check out Point Nepean . It was a semi-underground/above ground Fort back in WW2, the bulk of the fort is above ground (for current tour groups), however in the past there was a few tunnels linking SOME of the base segments, however those have been since closed by Parks Vic. Good place to go if you are interested in it

As for any other military UG bases in Victoria, i couldnt tell you, i could possibly tell you where they are not tho

Down Mataranka way and south of Katherine. Even if you keep your feet on the ground you sure see some unique happenings. I loved the place, miss it heaps.

Maybe you could start a thread on your adventures? I'm sure you could tell some fantastic stories!

I do not have any evidence to add but I believe that there are many underground bases here in Australia. I know there are at least two HAARP bases. One near Alice Springs and another in Western Australia or up the top of QueenslandI am not sure maybe both locations have an installation. I have seen photographs of the mountain that opens up for the flying craft at the base near Alice Springs - bloody amazing!

The only thing that concerns me is being underground when a cataclysm does its nastiest. I would much prefer to take my chances on the surface. I imagine that the underground facilities are meticulously planned - designed and built to perfection but technology can still go down. Imagine the openings/doors becoming jammed because the cataclysmic earth movements were not properly calculated. Imagine being locked in there and not being able to get out? Imagine the magma from a nearby volcano making its way into the underground bunker...and all the other side effects of Mother Nature when she is truly motivated.

When the Earth changes come I wonder how that will affect the DUMBs - maybe ending up under massive amounts of ocean .... I just don't see such evil intentions having a good outcome - for anyone.

If there were secret underground bases in Australia far northern Australia would be the place to do it......Some of the aboriginal communities in northern Australia requires premission to enter so what better place to put an enterance in an area that needs premission to access.
