It is depressing hearing some defend the NATO aggression against Libya, mainly because they have no idea how it feels to live in war. The Libyan CIA sponsored rebels failed to complete their mission of toppling the regime (X2). Instead of allowing Libya to live in peace, NATO started an outright war to protect its asset and create a prolong war, where bombs are raining in daily basis. Imagine yourself, your kids, your family living in that condition.

It is easy to not care because of the way the NATO attacks are previewed in the media, compared to the Libyan regime's self defense.

The continuous lies being reported as facts, and bombarded against the Libyan regime is ridiculous. This is a huge dis-info campaign, but no one cares, because they have already been programmed to to care.

an actual truth of this story does not matter , even if it is a metaphorical story it just goes to portray how war is effecting the average citizen .

I feel pretty strongly about the suicide issue. I do believe that some people seek attention. They just want to be heard. .........Maybe attention whore was the wrong term to use....Too frank and without emotion. I apologize for this....My mother brought me up not to, "beat around the bush," and tell it like it is. I do realize that my tone is offensive sometimes. That is how Lj01 operates and I am working on it.

As blunt as it may sound, so what? Yes it's terrible a girl feels this way and in a perfect world we would do everything we can to stop her ever feeling like that again. But the truth is people want to kill themselves over misunderstandings and strange things all the time.

And I can say that with confidence as I was once one of them.


Plenty of people survived the blitz without deciding to kill themselves over people who actually WERE trying to kill them. The fact that she felt this way means she may well have been likely to feel this way for another reason if there had been no war.

As horrible as it is this girl felt this way, we can't end a war because of it.

This has been one of the funniest threads ive read in a long time. As for the story, yeah its bunk, but still pretty funny. If every kid who ever got scared tried to kill themselves we'd be extinct allready. This girl just has a mental illness, like most suicides that fail shes craving attention. If she really wanted to die she would run towards the bombs.

Her reason given was not becuase she was scared of the bombs. She said that if anyone is going to kill her it should be herself.

I think the attempted suicide was more about pride than fear.

I don't understand how you can dismiss this as a cause for suicide, but people who live in a relitavely safe and stable country such as the U.S kill thereself when they cannot pay the bills or their home is foreclosed. Let's compare, your house is being bombed and your countrymen killed, or your house is being foreclosed and you can't pay the heating. If you call BS on this you have to call BS on the majority of suicides.

Why can America/NATO end a war then? Becuase....
- It costs billions of dollars putting a strain on their own finances
- It kills inoccent people
- It de-stabalizes a region
- It creates a condition that breeds terrorism(remember we are fighting a war on terror)
- It may force the countries to further commit sending ground forces (remember there are already Special forces operating in Libya)
- It will lead to deaths of soldiers

If this girl isn't a reason to stop a war these are.
