Not at all, I don't listen to evangelizers in fact. I'm talking about the main stream media. Words like "apocalypse", "armageddon" and "end of the world" are becoming commonplace in stories related to natural disasters. Surely you've noticed this.

Media sensationalism does little to sway me. The words APOCALYPSE, ARMAGEDDON and END OF THE WORLD mean no more than words like HOPE and CHANGE.

Yes - any day now. Any minute. Any second.

Screw it, I'm procrastinating on studying for my finals and I might as well address this silliness.

For me, I would consider it unthinkable at this moment in time, to be found of my maker attempting to discredit Him and His Word.

Well...I don't try to discredit my father..and my mother had a role too.

As I see the frequency of events worldwide and the intensity of these events, I am reminded of the woman in labor.

Frequency of events? Let me guess, this 'frequency' is based on things like 'a lack of objective examination of the frequency of events' and 'basing things on how frequent I feel things are occurring'.

The closer to the time of the birth, the more intense and frenquent are the labor pains. That baby will not stay in the womb. That baby will be born. In the book of Proverbs, Chapter 23, verse 18, it says "For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off."

Alright, why should I take the book of Proverbs as valid?

I mean, it says this:

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

...um...how is that anywhere near true? Last I checked, all sorts of people who don't believe in that deity have contributed a lot to knowledge and are very wise.

This is a few things we see going on right now.
1. War

Always happened. In fact, it's arguable that it's less frequent than it once was.

2. Rumors of War

Again, not all that uncommon historically.

3. Earthquakes
4. Volcanoes
5. Floods

Please, provide evidence that there are more of these than there have ever been historically. (Hint: You can't because all objective geologic evidence points to this not being the case)

6. Famines

Again, evidence that there are more famines now than there have ever been.

7. Persecutions of Jews and Christians

Yeah, Christians are really persecuted when they control the vast majority of the world's wealth and resources. And Jews? I'm sorry, but they aren't all that persecuted either. In fact, I'd say persecution of Jews is at an all-time low, at least historically speaking.

8. Hate

Says the homophobe...and again, I'd say the world is far more accepting and caring than it has ever been. Certainly far more than it was in the first century.

9. Murders/Including Abortions

Really? Murder rates are at all time highs now? And why do you get to include abortions?

10. Gay Pride Parades

What's wrong with a good parade? Or are you one of those "I'll accept that gays are bad just as I'm also ignoring the passage right next to it that says I shouldn't eat shellfish or trim my beard"

11. Fear

Again, lower now than it used to be. People used to go bat-poop insane with fear during an eclipse...last I checked, most people aren't doing that these days.

Granted, you're trying to spread fear...and hatred as well...and yet you're saying there's more of them. Well, if you make a concerted effort to spread them, it's going to keep increasing.

12. False Prophets

Like Jesus?

The list could go on and on but I trust the reader can catch my drift.

Yeah, you've no idea what you're talking about.

With Dec. 21, 2012 looming ahead many will absolutely loose it.

Yeah, I'm going to be falling out of my chair laughing. It's a shame that it wasn't the 22nd, as my birthday is the 23rd and the hilarious lack of an apocalypse would have been a great birthday present.

Without hope many will absolutely go crazy.

Oh, there's all sorts of hope. Like the decrease of religiosity in western nations.

With all the events listed above and many more things to happen between now and then to take place these things were predicted to be taking place at the end of this age in which we live. With all the events listed above, I see, The Finish Line Is In Site!

As has some schmuck in every generation since the beginning of human language.

My advice is not focus on Dec. 21, 2012. My advice is place your hope and Focus on The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of The Living God, Yahwey (Jehovah). Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. He is the only Way to The Father.

The great fear con. I'm sorry, why should I focus on your particular deity instead of...Krishna? I mean, he's a very similar messiah figure, he's blue, and he predates Jesus.

Or what about Thor? Thor has a hammer! I'd rather have a guy with a hammer looking out for me instead of the guy who got nailed to a cross.

While the World is looking at Dec. 21, 2012. Jesus Christ could gather together the true believers before that date and those left behind would absolutely experience Dec. 21, 2012 and the events beyond called The Great Tribulation period. We have not experienced tribulation such as is predicted as spelled out in black and white.

Spelled out in black and white? I'm sorry, you must not be familiar with the Bible. You're taking what's called 'eschatology' and saying that people tossing together disparate passages referring to different ideas in different books by different authors over the course of centuries is "black and white"?

Many people are gluttons for punishment.

Yeah, it's why leather and chains are a wise investment...oh, that's not what you meant.

Even when The Finish Line Is In Site, many will not trust and believe in The Savior.

Hard to trust and believe in that which lacks objective verification....

Many will continue to Doubt, Worry and Fear.

Time for a mini-rant!

Doubt? How is doubt a bad thing? Doubt is something that should be praised! Doubt is the thing that sparked such advancements as...all of the advancements in human history! We didn't get the wheel from trust. We didn't get computers from trust. We didn't get heliocentric astronomy from trust. We didn't get genetics, cell biology, evolution, and all the other great advances in biological science from trust. Doubt is that which leads us to progress, not the thing that we should be tarnishing.

As for worry and fear? You're the one trying to instill those in people.

Many will continue to think they know better than The Author of Life.

I also happen to know better than Aslan the lion, Superman, Darth Vader, Amon-Ra, Dr Manhattan, and all sorts of other fictional characters.

Many, even with The Finish Line In Site, believe all things will continue and there is no finish line. Many are a stiffnecked people.

Well, there are finish lines...everything comes to an end...but that doesn't necessarily mean it's an ultimate end. The sun? That's going to go one day. The Earth? It'll fry before then. Hopefully humanity (or whatever we've evolved/modified ourselves into) will make it off of this mudball before then.

For those who are believers in the One True God and believers in the one who died for them to take away the sins of the World, The Lord Jesus Christ, Look Up, for your redemption draws near!

More 'us and them' and more blind belief.

Now we will stop and see who is friend or foe. But, before we go I asked friends to pray for the Jews as the whole world surrounds Israel and vows to kill them.

What? Lol, how does "Please create a peaceful settlement with the 1967 borders" translate to "We're going to surround and kill you!?

Didn't that happen before and the world vowed it would never happen again. God will not tolerate this hatred forever.

Um..the whole world didn't surround Israel, it was just some really crazy European people. Last I checked, people in South America didn't have a thing to do with it...oh, and it wasn't actually Israel, it was people who were descended from the then defunct nation of Israel.

Which side are you on?

I'm with Cap.

Good or Evil?

Well, I'm against the sort of ignorant, bigoted, intolerant crap you're spewing...so good.

If you are for evil, then go to hell with the Devil. It is your choice. It is a choice we all must make as we see The Finish Line In Site. Life and Death.

Wow, more us and them! Fear of hell to boot!

. We have more wars, and they're deadlier.

See, thats just wrong...wrong wrong wrong.

pick any moment in history pre 1400's and I will show you perpetual wars, famine from sieges and scorched earth policys, etc...not just talking about crusades, but around the world, kingdom fought horrible battles constantly. everytime a king coughed somewhere, europe would erupt into war..entire citys sacked and slaughtered, enslaved, etc.

and lets also consider the bc/ad timeframe of the roman empire expansion.

comparatively, we are a pretty peaceful people now. sure, each war we have creates alot more dead than before, but thats because humans are in the billions upon billions now, not the hundreds of millions...aka, alot more people to get caught up in a local war.

but percentagewise...its a drop in the bucket from the sea of warfare we came from. and each year we become more "civilized". now, to equal what our medieval ancestors had to put up with comparatively, we would need to have a thermonuclear war every 20 or so years (minus the radiation afterwards)...then we may be equal to what was going on back then...when there truely was a chance that this is your last month to live due to some overzelous king eyeing your land next door.

What is new about today is that we have alot of access to information.

100 years ago, people didn't have the internet, that doesn't mean there was no serial killers 3 states away stacking up the bodys...just that you didn't hear about it in a play by play fashion

100 years ago, incest, child rape, and all those sex crimes were rampant..it was pretty much the norm and unspoken about...now its gone significantly down due to its exposure and being pushed in the open...of course, now with it all over the media, you think its a sudden massive outbreak when its actually the opposite.

there is reality, then there is the perception of reality. the perception of reality is that war, crime, and everything bad is all around us...the reality is that its just the media banging in your head to sell fear in a increasingly more ordered world for the purpose of selling their crap and keeping you hooked by using your most base instinct.

Shut off the television, avoid the internet...don't read the papers, and avoid any discussions about the latest news with your neighbors...you will find the world magically "calmed down"...the sun rises, it sets, the wind blows, and food still tastes good. there will be no red army marching down your street, nor gangland murderers raping your neighbors on a daily basis...

the overused term "fearmongering" is a correct term nonetheless...and its become an art form by our media. The world isn't all roses, but its not all thorns either.

Sorry, haven't noticed it; not in my part of the world anyway. But then we don't take the USA form of extremist christianity very seriously either.

But in any case, .... an estimated amount of the use of certain words in media can hardly be said to be ground for anything. Try to count how much attention media has on sexuality in various forms, and you could arrive to the conclusion that rabbits are celibate compared to mankind.

(As a former rabbit owner I know the implications of my comparison).

The book of Revelation was not channeled, as you say! You do not believe in the truth.

The book was given by revelation. By the giving of Word of knowledge, Word of Wisdom and by the discerning of Spirits. Three of the nine manifestation of the spirit of God.

A bigot? No, just concerned for the soul of man. My best friend was a homosexual!! We all sin. and all sin separates us from God. But, God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes shall be saved.

I put homosexual behavior on the same list as shoplifting. It is all sin. We have all fallen short. We all sin. There is no such thing as a little and big sin. Sin is sin. However, God does say that homosexual behavior is an abomination in His sight. There is such a thing as a grave sin.

Being mercilesly (misspelled) tortured forever is a false doctrine. Being tortured forever, people screaming forever is not a true doctrine. Separation from the Almighty is true. Every one will be judged, each in their on order. The Great White Throne judgement is the last one. After that there will be a New Heaven and New Earth. There will be no more sea!

I didn't say Jesus mentioned anything about Gay Pride Parades. But, the Word of God clearly speaks against such a life style. Homosexuality falls under the catagory "Abomination"

Matthew Chapter 24 speaks of persecution, people turning against each other because of their faith.

No, the Christian does not rule the World. The God of this World is Satan. Satan is busy blinding people to the truth.

It appears to me being alive on this planet now about 60 years that all of the things going on are more frequent and getting more intense like labor pains.

I believe Jesus is about to come back soon. With the middle East on fire and the threats to kill the jews, I see God's intervention coming when things continue to heat up.

World War Three has already begun in my opinion. With another great depression coming, War comes right behind. Full scale. Russian Missles are still aimed at the US. This country will be judged. For the most part people in this country have gotten fat and lazy. People have turned their back on God and His righteousness. People in this World are selfish. Not all, but most.

So are a bunch of things:

Eating sacrificial meat on the third day:

Lev 7:18 And if [any] of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.

Eating shellfish:

Lev 11:10-12 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which [is] in the waters, they [shall be] an abomination unto you:
They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that [shall be] an abomination unto you.

Eating certain birds (including some supposed four-legged birds)

Lev 11:13-14 And these [are they which] ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they [are] an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
Lev 11:20 All fowls that creep, going upon [all] four, [shall be] an abomination unto you.

Eating "creeping things":

Lev 11:41-42 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth [shall be] an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon [all] four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they [are] an abomination.

Matthew Chapter 24 speaks of persecution, people turning against each other because of their faith.

Yeah, the time frame is way past on that:

Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

That generation? Passed quite a number of generations ago.

No, the Christian does not rule the World. The God of this World is Satan. Satan is busy blinding people to the truth.

Yeah, so Christians have all the money, all the political power, the majority of the nuclear arsenal, the majority of the conventional military might, the majority of representation in the most powerful nation in the world, and are continually trying to suppress the free speech of non-Christians...and they don't rule the world.

You keep making all these statements without a little thing called "evidence".

How is homosexuality a sin? How is it on the same level of shoplifting?

Shoplifting: a conscious choice which results in property loss, is an infringement on the property rights of others.

Homosexuality: is a sexual inclination that is caused by a mixture of genetic and womb hormone factors that are uncontrollable and doesn't hurt anyone.

So the guy citing the Bible to show that you're sort of...picking and choosing from the Bible...doesn't really realize that you're either unfamiliar with or dishonest about the Bible?

I'm sorry, but do you find eating lobster, shrimp, and crab to be an abomination? Why didn't you list the number of seafood dining establishments which serve shellfish as a sign of the end times being in site?

Oh, you'd rather just be dismissive instead of addressing any of my many, many objections.

Let me put it to you again:

Where is your evidence that any and all of the events you cited are happening with greater frequency and/or intensity beyond your own subjective impression?

And again, why are you citing the chapter in which Jesus promises the end to come within the generation of his living followers while pretending like you have knowledge of the Bible? He was definitely wrong about that claim.

You wrote:

["We all sin."]

This is an assumption, and you superimpose it on all mankind without a shred of evidence.

Quote: ["and all sin separates us from God"]

Concerning your 'god'-concept, see above.

Quote: ["But, God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes shall be saved."]

See above.

Quote: ["I put homosexual behavior on the same list as shoplifting."]

You're ofcourse entitled to your opinions, but you've just set your own standards, which will reflect on you and your type of christianity.

Quote: ["It is all sin. We have all fallen short."]

As you already said before. What kind of audience are you used to, needing to be told the same things twice (and that's just THIS post).

Quote: ["We all sin."]

Thrice.

Quote: [" There is no such thing as a little and big sin. Sin is sin. However, God does say that homosexual behavior is an abomination in His sight. There is such a thing as a grave sin."]

And the grand finale. Not surprisingly on the theme: Sin.

Unfortunate for your fabulations, I'm not a sinner, neither are homosexuals. It's just a fantasy you have. Seek help, you can be de-conditioned.
