For me, I would consider it unthinkable at this moment in time, to be found of my maker attempting to discredit Him and His Word. As I see the frequency of events worldwide and the intensity of these events, I am reminded of the woman in labor. The closer to the time of the birth, the more intense and frenquent are the labor pains. That baby will not stay in the womb. That baby will be born. In the book of Proverbs, Chapter 23, verse 18, it says "For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off."

This is a few things we see going on right now.
1. War
2. Rumors of War
3. Earthquakes
4. Volcanoes
5. Floods
6. Famines
7. Persecutions of Jews and Christians
8. Hate
9. Murders/Including Abortions
10. Gay Pride Parades
11. Fear
12. False Prophets

The list could go on and on but I trust the reader can catch my drift. With Dec. 21, 2012 looming ahead many will absolutely loose it. Without hope many will absolutely go crazy. With all the events listed above and many more things to happen between now and then to take place these things were predicted to be taking place at the end of this age in which we live. With all the events listed above, I see, The Finish Line Is In Site!

My advice is not focus on Dec. 21, 2012. My advice is place your hope and Focus on The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of The Living God, Yahwey (Jehovah). Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. He is the only Way to The Father.

While the World is looking at Dec. 21, 2012. Jesus Christ could gather together the true believers before that date and those left behind would absolutely experience Dec. 21, 2012 and the events beyond called The Great Tribulation period. We have not experienced tribulation such as is predicted as spelled out in black and white.

Many people are gluttons for punishment. Even when The Finish Line Is In Site, many will not trust and believe in The Savior. Many will continue to Doubt, Worry and Fear. Many will continue to think they know better than The Author of Life. Many, even with The Finish Line In Site, believe all things will continue and there is no finish line. Many are a stiffnecked people.

For those who are believers in the One True God and believers in the one who died for them to take away the sins of the World, The Lord Jesus Christ, Look Up, for your redemption draws near!

Now we will stop and see who is friend or foe. But, before we go I asked friends to pray for the Jews as the whole world surrounds Israel and vows to kill them. Didn't that happen before and the world vowed it would never happen again. God will not tolerate this hatred forever.

Which side are you on? Good or Evil? If you are for evil, then go to hell with the Devil. It is your choice. It is a choice we all must make as we see The Finish Line In Site. Life and Death.

Organized religion and true faith in God are two very different things, in my opinion. I have faith and believe in the unknown. I do not attend church as I dont believe you need to to believe and be saved. I seek the foundation of Jesus Christ and what he spoke, not the religion that has been spawn from what man wants it to be. Again, just my opinion. So seek God for yourself. Don't seek religion.

With love

Maybe
is the drift something along the lines of..."the more things change, the more they stay the same?" or just the shortened "same ole, same ole"

With Dec. 21, 2012 looming ahead many will absolutely loose it.

Why...what happens on the 21st? lose what anyhow?

Without hope many will absolutely go crazy.

Oh, hope...december...hope...right, so your saying the hope guy, Obama, needs to become president, else people will go crazy? bit of hyperbole dontcha think?

With all the events listed above and many more things to happen between now and then to take place these things were predicted to be taking place at the end of this age in which we live. With all the events listed above, I see, The Finish Line Is In Site!

A prediction on ATS...how unique.
I predict that in the future, there will be the list as you mentioned, be it in 5 years, or 500 years (hopefully less and less as we progress). But hey, at least we got out of the middle ages when that list you wrote was seriously pronounced (except for the gay parades...however, there was venice.)

My advice is not focus on Dec. 21, 2012. My advice is place your hope and Focus on The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of The Living God, Yahwey (Jehovah). Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. He is the only Way to The Father.

I prefer health insurance. Fun fact. praying has yet to cure any amputee's...however, science has provided artificial limbs.

My counter advice would be not to focus on the endless doomsday written 2k years ago and wished for by every generation since...but rather to accept you will probably be alive tomorrow and so make a better day for your community.

He could do that
he could also come here and start a school of ninja's to defeat the annunaki's and reptilian center earth overlords..
or none of that could happen. one thing I think both you and I agree on. come december 22, 2012, there will still be poor in the world, still be pollution, still be some pretty bad stuff going on without the need of deitys and demons...might be a good idea to channel some energy into fixing the issues we have today and tomorrow and not focus in so much on what supernatural boogiemen and supermen may or may not do. We got our own issues

Many have to feed their family, many have to live in reality. Many see the daily struggle to be important. Many see that for thousands of years, the powerful in society used religion as a means to enslave the people, keep them poor, keep them working for them in hopes that they may simply die and get something afterwards.
Many people no longer play the elitists game called religion.

For those who are believers in the One True God and believers in the one who died for them to take away the sins of the World, The Lord Jesus Christ, Look Up, for your redemption draws near!

I say stop looking up for someone to save you and instead, look forward and save yourself. Just my opinion there. but makes sense when driving a car

Now we will stop and see who is friend or foe. But, before we go I asked friends to pray for the Jews as the whole world surrounds Israel and vows to kill them. Didn't that happen before and the world vowed it would never happen again. God will not tolerate this hatred forever.

That something I never understood. Jews see jesus as just some carpenter rabble.
Why pray for the jews if they are all great and gods chosen...why not just become a jew?

Which side are you on? Good or Evil? If you are for evil, then go to hell with the Devil. It is your choice. It is a choice we all must make as we see The Finish Line In Site. Life and Death.

I abstain from the black and white choice. I think if there is a god, it is the giver and taker of life...why reject an entire side of its personality?
Why not simply look at myself and decide what I personally like to nurture inside of myself. I know what is good and not good. I know what I want my legasy to be, I don't need a supernatural father to tell me not to murder people or take their stuff. I guess I am good because I want to be and not because I fear a cosmic spanking.

I wonder...in the grand scheme of things, would a deity enjoy the company of a person whom was good because thats what they wanted in their world, or choose the person that was good only because he feared the punishment of being bad (otherwise, would have been a hellraiser).

Enjoy your life, live for today and work for tomorrow...ignore fear..and yes, you will more than likely be paying your morgage come 2013, so be rational in your decisions.

... Almost all of these things have been going on since and before Revelation was written, and yes around the same time as each other.

The only thing new is your listing of the Pride Parade, but it's pretty dumb to think that such a thing is the nail in our coffin, so to speak.

And the persecution of Christians began in the time of Nero, but more are joining in when they see some constantly crying "Doom!" and say everyone is going to hell, like in this post. If I'm not mistaken, they've been doing that since about 20 years after Jesus.

Don't. Take. Revelation. Literally.

Just to set the record straight, I did not say anything about religion! You may not believe in being saved but Jesus taught that we must believe and be saved. Are you greater than he?

Believe what you want. No one is going to force Jesus on you.

I merely believe He is the Savior of the World. Those who believe and confess that He died and was raised from the dead for the forgiveness of their sins shall absolutely be saved.

Not trying to force Jesus down your throat. Just trying to get the Word out there, He Is Coming!!!!!

To the ops

Revelations was "channeled" information.

You can check youtube today and see tons of people "channeling" information from god, jesus, angels, whitecloud, etc...

Why is the revelations channeling (already failed btw.."this generation will not pass") considered holy and todays channeling considered misleading, demonic, etc etc etc.

Neither have authority. Revelations was actually considered not to be included in the bible because of the information, the actual source unknown (My money is on alcohol fueled delusions moreso than chatting with god), and with no authority.

Something I never got a straight answer from...why is revelations relevant? if I stapled nostradamous at the end of the bible, does that make it holy?

Your sermon is the same as that of everybody else, just with the wording changed a bit, and it has already been commented on so many times, that it should be meaningless to repeat the counter-arguments.

(You see we theist-critics use arguments, not preachings).

But you have included a few interesting points worth considering.

You wrote:

["10. Gay Pride Parades"]

But there have been whole cultures earlier, not only accepting homosexuality, but actually giving it some status. In spite of the unending stream of end-of-days predictions from day one, homosexuality has sofar not been shown to be part of the end of the world (unless mankind missed to observe it).

You're quite sure, that you just aren't a bigot?

Quote: ["My advice is not focus on Dec. 21, 2012. My advice is place your hope and Focus on The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of The Living God, Yahwey (Jehovah). Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. He is the only Way to The Father."]

While it either shows a great concern for the wellfare of mankind or alternatively an obssissional drive for missioning, the value of your advice can be debated. And as a starter to profile a debate, MY advice is that there are too many self-proclaimed truths around, and that rational reasoning should be included in speculations on how mankind get on with existence.

Good thing to come...lets analyse

the thing to come in question is a removal of a small part of the world, tossing them into happy land where for eternity they will get all sorts of rewards...yay for them...now, back to the majority

there will be earthquakes, volcano's, death, destruction, etc.
After that, people will be judged and smacked down into a eternal hellfire. a place where for the rest of eternity, you will be mercilessly tortured.

this from a "loving" god because we decided to sleep in on sunday, and figured science showing a old universe is probably correct and that wizards and such fairy tales are probably just that.

what a senseless and cruel deity...

failing to see the "good things to come" aspect. hell, even a person in heaven is bound to look at this wholesale slaughter by this childish deity and decide its a bit cruel.

I didn't ask to pop into existance. I was forced into existance as a thinking and feeling being...by your god as you say. I was also given a brain by your god, and that brain has, through the series of life experiences, made me see there is no biblical deity. I therefore blame the deity for making me flawed to begin with...and not presenting me with evidence to sprout faith from.

therefore, it is a flawed creator

therefore god is flawed

Therefore god is torturing me for eternity because of his mistakes, not mine.

Here is a list of things that always happen and always will:

Christ's disciples asked Him what would be the signs of His return and the end of the age. Here is how he responded:

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.

“So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

“Immediately after the distress of those days

“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Regarding the list in the OP, you are correct that these are events that have always occurred. But Jesus referred to them as birth pains. Why? Because He was calling attention to the fact that they will increase in frequency and intensity until the "birth" (His return). Even people in the secular world are recognizing that these events are more frequent and more intense than at any other time in history. Also pay attention to the fig tree quote in the last paragraph. The "fig tree" in the Bible represents Israel (further clarified in Mark 11 and Luke 13). The fig tree putting forth leaves is symbolic of Israel "blooming" as a country again, which occurred in 1948. There is no other time in history when this passage would have made sense, even as recently as the early 40's many believed Israel would never be a country again and that this passage was allegory. Yet it has come to pass, a true miracle. Jesus then said that "this generation" would not pass until ALL is fulfilled. What generation? The generation that saw Israel become a nation again. How long is a generation? Unknown, most believe it to be 70 or 80 years based on Psalm 90, and that was the length of a generation in Christ's day so it seems likely. But it could be a hundred or more years based on OT lifespans as well. Regardless, it's clear that time is short if you accept as I do that Bible prophecy is accurate and trustworthy. Obviously there are still many who do not accept Bible prophecy, to those of you who fall in that category I wish to call your attention to Isaiah 17, it is a crystal clear prophecy that has not yet taken place, it clearly states Damascus, Syria will be destroyed. I hope that if this event happens in your lifetime you will remember it was prophecied and reconsider exploring God's Word.

The history of this planet (and of the whole universe) is filled with catastrophes, and such catastrophes come and go, and sometimes come and go together, and sometimes are worse than the present conglomorate you try to construct for the near future.

You have some vague estimation of the collective amount of catastrophicality awaiting. Did you get that from some evangelizing site spewing out propaganda, or do you have some more evidenced sources.

I ask, because experience has shown me, that christian evangelists, prophets etc aren't above twisting or fabricating 'evidence'.

It's "The Revelation". Revelations is the next Assassin's Creed game
Revelation goes into detail regarding the Tribulation, but most don't seem to realize it is not a stand-alone book. It repeats and clarifies themes that are laid out in both the OT and NT. The Book of Daniel is in the OT and mirrors much of what is contained in Revelation.

See my above post, "this generation" had not yet passed. It started in 1948 and the clock is still ticking.

Well you clearly don't consider any of the Bible relevant, so why would you consider one book relevant if you've already cast it all out? It's relevant to believers because, as I said above, it is not stand-alone. It reinforces information found throughout the Bible. If you stapled Nostradamus's predictions onto the Bible it would stand out because of it's complete incompatibility. The writing style is totally different (quatrains), the language it's written in is different, and the "predictions" are vague and more like poetry than prophecy.

Correct. For future reference. Many who don't believe now may find themselves questioning their non-belief when they see that particular prophecy fulfilled, because there is nothing vague about it. It's easy for non-believers to look at fulfilled prophecy and say something like "well sure, Israel became a nation and now everyone is twisting scripture to fit past events". And I can understand that skepticism. But the prophecy regarding Damascus is very clear, and being that Damascus is the oldest continually inhabited city in the entire world, its destruction is surely a long shot. So when it happens, hopefully some will remember the passage.

2 Peter 3:3-4: "Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”

Except that it doesn't. We have more crime, and they're more violent. We have more wars, and they're deadlier. We have more of everything bad, and people simply get used to it and claim that nothing changed.
