Going along with extracting oil from the ground is shipping it to a refinery. So let's assume that we had the foresight to build new refineries in addition to adopting drill, baby, drill, OK?

So who says we have to compete in a global market with our own oil? Does the farmer charge himself $X for a bushel of wheat?

Drill it here, refine it here, sell it here, all immune to global prices and speculation. Any excess, put it on the global market.

Your sentiment is fine, however you are assuming that companies here would isolate the U.S crude and then process and bring it to market it here in America. Then that assumes that speculators (that helped stage 2008)
would not do the same thing they are currently doing on the global market. I am not unreasonable, if you can ACTUALLY contend with the challenges that barre viable solutions, I am all ears. Unfortunately the national conglomerates, that are the Oil companies, will not do any of this on a voluntary basis, neither will the speculators market. IMO both could not be done without big government intervention and interference, I don't think either would prefer doing this.

It is rigged by the commodity speculators just like food was in 2008. I already showed that in another post.

Supply plays a part in pricing but not when you have a cartel playing games.

Remember the "Oil/Gas shortage" of the mid 1970's???

I have talked to several truckers who told me the tanks in New Jersey were just about overflowing and the guys in the plants did not know where to store the EXCESS GASOLINE! As soon as the price of gas doubled the shortage mysteriously disappeared!

SCORE one for the Rockefellers and their cronies.

Hoffmeister and Tillerman, both men of great stature in the industry have stated the same thing three years apart, (when gas goes above $3) both men "we can bring to market >$60 a barrel) both men state speculation
is the catalyst to this mode of pricing.

It is all too ridiculous, I am sick of being screwed from every angle

The oil industry is OWNED by the Oil Cartel and the EPA works for THEM not the US citizen. (I gave a detailed description of what actually happens in the USDA above)

A cartel, especially a cartel that controls the government gets to set the prices. Remember the Rockefellers are in oil AND banking!

One key element that we need and do not have is a cohesive energy policy for the US. We can set the rules of that policy, and if the oilcos don't want to play by the rules, they will be restricted from drilling in the US areas. We have to set the tone that WE control the US, not them. I'd go so far as to allow mom and pop gas stations to drive their own rigs to the refineries and fill up. Cut down on transportation costs. Just one example of lowering costs.

Why do we care? Because just like everyone else, we enjoy an entertaining show. And getting Palin (who I really hope runs) the nomination, will be infinitely more entertaining than if someone boring like Santorum wins.

I'm sure she'll feel right at home although most of her prior trailer park domiciles didn't have a steering wheel. LOL

Sure explains the Drill Baby Drill mantra. Does that thing even get 5 miles per gallon? Glad to see she is doing her part to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
