I currently carry this:

I've used this knife to chop wood on my desert camping trips. I highly recommend it.

What on earth do you walk around carrying a knife for? Are you really that scared you have to carry a weapon with you all the time?

I personally find that most people that carry weapons around are just scared little cowards, same as those that carry guns all the time, just afraid, then feel "MANLY" because they have a weapon to back up their big mouths

If you need to carry a weapon with you all the time, you really need to look at your life style seriously

I agree!!! I am so glad I live in a country where I do not feel the NEED to arm myself to walk a block to the corner store at night alone, and I live in the crappy end of town even. Carrying around a weapon is only asking for trouble.

I always have my Swiss Army knife in my pocket (Ranger model). I don't look at it as a self-defense weapon or anything, but it sure does come in handy with a lot of outdoors kind of stuff.

Screw regulations, I love my OTF knife

In all seriousness, I do carry an OTF with me. Beyond the practicality of it, the mechanism is quite attractive.

Out here on the farm I usually carry a stainless chinese survival "Rambo" knife with about a 9" blade el cheapo from Harbor Freight Tools $10 - plus a couple brazillian machetes for the tractor $6 each. In my pocket it's a folding utility knife with replaceable blade, $5 at Home Depot. This is the stuff I work with all the time.

In the kitchen it's strictly Gerber from an age gone by supplemented by a couple of recent Henckel and Wustof work blades.

I've got a CRKT tanto folder and a Cold Steel 7" blade tanto for defensive purposes and some typical Gerber and Case "gentlemens" folders for dress up. I carry another "Rambo" blade in the car for close encounters, guess I've bought 6 of these "That's a Knife" monsters and given half away as gifts.

daily carry a SOG Aegis tanto point in my front pocket and a SOG Flash II straight edge in my back. Both are rather inexpensive under $65 US, light, spring assist opening, and have one of the best pocket clips in my opinion.
Like other said its more of a tool than for defense.Boxes, tape, those plastic ties, plastic clamshells i forgot who said it but anything you can do with a scissor is more enjoyable with a knife!!! i carry other tools with me daily too, leatherman and screwdriver set in my backpack which follows me to work and i have various tools in my car.

Out in the woods i'll carry a kabar or SOG seal pup elite or ontario sp6. 5-8" seems to be my ideal when out

I live in the City and carry an "Urban Pal",

Easy google for pic or vid, ATS didn't like any of the vid links I posted.

I wear it around my neck usually, I use it all the time as it's so handy, it a real situation it's usefulness is limited to your skill so it's not for everyone.

If I knew the law I would carry mine. It is a Buck hunting knife, with a gutting hook on it. So I just have it in the house. I thought it was legal to carry a huntin knife on your person if it is exposed, like around your neck or on your belt loop.

I also thought you could carry a large huntingknif in your vehicle as long as it was in the box with receipt.

Does anyone know where to access a current database of knife laws?

My knife. Nothing fancy, inexpensive and made in the USA. Utilitarian.
