He could have, but honestly I think this makes an interesting thread all in its own. For instance, he is a paramedic that is reporting an increase in odd behavior. If he adds this to an old thread about May 21st, probably only a handful would have seen it. This could actually be somewhat useful information - almost like a heads up. Like, "Hey, people are going crazy...stay indoors." kind of thing. If for nothing else, I would say that deserves it's own thread because I agree with the OP...So far, I really haven't seen much of anything at all similar to what was stated by the OP.

I think that the main problem is that so many people before him posted a crap-ton of the same threads (virtually...almost identical to one another) that you are quick to attack this thread and the OP and his message. Personally, I'm going to keep an eye on this thread because it interests me. It's really sad but astonishing how so many people can be manipulated to believe something like this to the point where they are hysterical or committing suicide. Kind of scary...

I have a four year old, and right now that is one of my fears which is to see something bad happen to a little kid because of this stuff.Dont get me wrong i mean it is terrible for people of any age to do harm to themselves and stuff like that, but if the parents are sick enough to hurt themselves they could think that they are doing what is best for the kid. If i were to see something like that, it may be enough for me to hang up my boots.

Nah. Your services is needed to "help" those fearful get over their inability to deal with the unknown. Guess that's why it is called a "rapture" --- to weed out the weaklings who fall for this sort of cr@p.

It's all the same --- zombie apocolyse... sheeple lead to slaughter... frogs boiled alive... I wonder if there is a place in hell for old prunes who causes panick worldwide.

I am worried about the ones with small children. Hopefully they will have enough sense to realize they have been decieved and not harm their children.

And hopefully the children whose parents believe in this and tell their kids to believe in this, don't do anything rash either.

One reason I didn't become a nurse was because I couldn't handle seeing a child in pain or harmed. I hope you don't see anything like that and that tomorrow people will realize it was a lie and learn from this and get on with their lives.

I think the craziness will get very severe just before Elenin is supposed to cross our path and even worse before 12/21/12.

I did not make this thread solely for it to popular or to hit 5 pages. I made it because i felt it was important enough to let people know what is going on and how this day is affecting people from my first hand experiences. I made this thread because i feel comfortable here and i wanted to talk about what i am seeing and feeling. All you have done is come in here and contribute nothing except negativity, while others have shown support. With all the stuff that ambulance, police, and fire personel see sometimes they need a place where they can go and get some kind and supporting words so they can make it through the rest of the shift. Not many people know or understand what it is like being out on the street and seeing what we see. This will be my last comment to you on this thread unless you have something to contribute.

LOL (sorry for breaking T&C's there) but seriously. That guy isn't getting a U2U from me anyway. I don't blame you '79 for letting us all know on here. I wasn't lieing when I said it's interesting and sad all at the same time. I did forget to mention this earlier as well: do take care of yourself out there. I had huge aspirations of becoming a cop when I was a bit younger and I know the job can bring with it stress and some other nasty stuff - paramedics and firemen have it no easier. Goodluck and here's hoping for a better-than-expected day tomorrow.

The reason i posted to your thread is because your going to be out in the field as a paramedic in northern MN and that to me makes the thread interesting and worth reading..If you look at the rest of the threads posted on ATS about this 12/21/2012 its all gee wiz will it happen most all one liners and i can see its going to take over ATS for the next few days and i will be interested in hearing about how your day went so i will be checking back ..Oh i also live in northern MN

I hear you. After what we we have seen so far we are asking the majority of our roster to be on standby for the rest of the weekend and the hospital has staff on stand by in case it gets really busy. Its weird cause we were talking about the potential for this happening but it was kind of in a joking way. We had heard the stories about people selling off their stuff and other odd things from other parts of the country but of course we all thought that nothing bad or crazy could happen in our little town out here. Sadly, things like this get perpetuated by people being so desperate for hope, or for an "end" to their current existance (I won't call it life, because any more, most are so down-trodden due to work, and money, and other stresses, it's not much of a life). That they will believe anything in hopes of a change..

Doomers (I am one of them sometimes), are the same way.. We wigg out at the possibility of the world ending in one way or another, as an escape to our cuirrent misery..

So in a way, religeous nuts, doomers, escapists, even people who get way to engrossed in a good fantasy novel, are all nuts in some way shape or form.. /chuckle..

It's not necessarily a bad thing, exceptin cases where people to beyond what is normal, and think they must "off" themselves in or to be raptured.. or such as that..

Well to give an update, i heard from the crews that worked overnight had 3 more patients with panic/anxiety attacks. It looks like its going to continue like this today and into tonight. About four more hours and my shift starts. Depending on how busy it is my upadates may be later this evening or after midnight when my shift is over. Thanks to everyone on this thread who have said kind words and understand what i am going through today.

Camping is a crazy prophet just like all the others from 1000's of years ago, there all the same when will people realize this?

I know what you mean and i really dont get it either. I so badly wanted to ask my patients yesterday why they believed this was going to happen when the guy was proven false in 94, but i could not come up with a way to ask that without making the situation worse. You would think that by now in this day and age that people would be so used to scam artists and false prophecy that it would not affect anyone but i guess not.

The only thing I don't like is how people keep blaming Camping for this. Yes, the guy is a nutcase, but this isn't his fault. This is the fault of the stupid people who follow him. People need to man up and use their minds, and stop just blindly following others. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for people to stop being moronic sheep and actually think for themselves.

As far as the rapture, I'm wondering if they will claim it actually DID happen. The number of people Camping claims will be "taken away" is very small. Would the world really notice if these people left? Are they supposed to disappear in front of our eyes? I mean, Camping could just claim that people that died today actually got raptured, then kill himself secretly to make it appear as if he got raptured too. I'm sure these nut bags will spin this somehow to make it seem like they were right.
