Top Chinese General: "China does not have the capibilitay to challange the US."

politics.blogs.foxnews.com

China's top military officer said Wednesday that his country lacked the equipment and directives necessary to challenge the U.S. militarily.

"Through my visit over the past couple of days in the United States, I am surprised by the sophistication of the U.S. military, including its weapons and equipment and doctrines and so on," People's Liberation Army leader General Chen Bingde said. "I can tell you that China does not have the capability to challenge the United States. As a matter of fact, the reconnaissance activities along China's coast by U.S. military aircraft and vessels are s

Hollywood, world, call it what you want.
Ok, I will concede the idea that German soldiers died mostly from bullets.
But are you saying that freezing temperatures, low morale, broken supply lines, and starvation would not "Drastically" effect how a soldier fights?
All of this and Hitler never paid attention to his generals when they suggested they pull out or back?
Truth is, neither you or I were there so anything we know would be unconfirmed, I am just believing the most logical of the possibilities.
And my thoughts are shared by several folks.
History does repeat itself.
Wars nowadays are primarily fought in the air, this would make the Russian winter and the vast stretch from russia across China not nearly as big a gap as it would have been in the 40's.
I think China would be a whole different ballgame nowadays.

While it does seem like it would be foolish of China to start a war with America, let's keep in mind that a large percentage of the current espionage actions occurring inside US borders are perpetrated by the Chinese. I personally do not see how there could ever be an all out, old-fashioned slug match between any superpowers at present, simply because of nuclear weapons.

If 5 billion screaming Chinamen landed on the west coast, we would probably have to nuke ourselves. I'm not being serious btw, but that would be scary.

My conclusion is that war with the US would be detrimental to China's economy, and America is so broke that there is nothing worth invading for anyway, haha...

Respectfully,

Sun Tzu was a brilliant warrior in his day and many of his observations hold true to this day. That being said, Sun Tzu did not have modern operational awareness. The art of war changes when a nuclear-powered mobile fortress has the ability to sail to your door step in a matter of hours with enough firepower to destroy many a small country.

China has a powerful military. China has a large military. China does not have the operational abilities of the U.S. A war does not mean we line up our armor, infantry and air assets and duke it out. There are many factors that would affect a conflict between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China.

Where is conflict taking place? I can assure you it is not on our soil. As others have eluded to, China does not possess the capability to wage a war on our home-front. They do not possess the naval or air capabilities necessary to survive a week in a mainland invasion scenario.

Do we invade China? Why? That being the case, we would be talking civilian casualties rivaled only by those in WWDeuce. It would be nearly impossible to accomplish alone, and would not make sense from any standpoint. What we DO possess is the sure-fire ability to kick the PLA's tail back deep within mainland China and keep them within their own continent.

A conflict between our two countries is illogical at best. The simple fact that we are two of the most powerful and influential countries in the world does not require that we strap up and go to battle. While there are indeed tensions that run deeper than most will ever know, both sides are intelligent enough to know that the outcome of a full-on conflict between our two nations would result in mutually negative consequences.

Why would we invite China's top military advisers to tour military installations, equipment, personnel and operations if we were dead-set or even suspicious of an upcoming conflict? Sure China is stronger than the good General may make them out to be here, but he is also not overstating the situation. Our military is an insanely precise and well-oiled machine. If you look at the scope and scale of our operations, even if it is just those known to the general public; it is impressive by any man or woman's standards.

I'm also not sure where people are getting this idea that China is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Check out some of their military parades. They put Soviet block USSR to shame. China LOVES to flex its muscles when given the opportunity.

Give China another 20-30 years of the same boom they have had (which is not likely), then maybe we can change the art of this war. Until then, China has a long way to go and a lot of scrap metal to collect before they can compete militarily on a global scale.

Sorry, but no. WWII level tech would get them here. The problem, as stated before, is logistics. Even if they got here, they could not feed their troops. Thus they lose due to starvation.

I understand perfectly what you are saying, however I am forced to think, what if? considering the ideas flying around about population control, what if the leaders of many nations come to an agreement of some sorts to produce an artificial war for the sole purpose of reducing population? Either way, one can speculate numerous ideas and we will find out after all is said and done, whether nothing will happen, or if something does happen.
Anything is possible, though many things are improbable, stranger world situations have happened that no one in their wildest imaginations would have thought would actually happen.
It'd be good to keep a close eye on the situation either way.

There are always the what-if's. All my life experience leads me away from the idea that there is some high-ranking cabal with that much logistical excellence; but as you said, who knows? Fact can and has been stranger than fiction in the past and surely will be again in the future. While my money is on the other horse, of course I could never say that you are surely wrong. Definitely keep your ear to the ground as far as any political, economic or military news is concerned.

Which is why China and Russia are becoming very strong allies.

They can't challenge the USA militarily, but they can together defeat the USA though other methods, including and primarily from economic collapse, infiltration of the US government and its agencies (corruption is very exploitable), and ultimately drawing the USA into more wars and conflicts globally.... Terrorism can achieve far more for them, than for Muslims, which is why they have been plotting to stage attacks on the US and western interests, attacks which will be blamed on terrorist groups, and other "Islamic, nations and enemies"

The end result will be global supremacy for them, and the USA stifled for many decades, rebuilding its economy, and recovering from devastating attacks.

For them, hopefully most of those in the USA will only realize what has really happened when it is far to late to do anything about it.

The Chinese can play the role of innocent benefactors of the fall of the USA, a hero and savior to the American people and the world.

Everyone lives happily ever after.

Wrong!!!
Deadly wrong!
The TPTB are now leaving the support of US because they found out to their chargin that the US is simply too much democratic and it would take a lot of time to create the NWO form the US position. So they created a controled demoliton of the US economy (Wonder Wonder why most of the effects are centred on the US and no Europe, the world is soooo interconected that the US would normaly take the rest of the planet with them on this unending spiral of Collapse = Controled demoliton I say!!!)so the US cannot stop them and doesn´t oppose them and now are beggining their support of China because the Cinesse were always autocratic and it would be easy to do that from China then the US.
Point is the moment the Chinesse win over the USA and EUROPE, IT IS BEYOND ENDGAME, WE ARE DONE!
There is still some faction of the TPTB that are helping the US out of inertia but it will be winding down slowly(current laws etc. still autocratic but NOT ENOUGH).

You are correct in that the Reich was "buried" under the weight of non-stop russian conscripts ( Not very well trained but their were lots of them)but there was a great deal of loss to "General" Winter. . The wonderful little T34/85 was more than a match for the Panzerwaffe. Soft ground? No prob. The turret and glacis were brilliant in the curves used.

Delta wings and jets? Nah. That was stolen from the Fatherland after they came to rape and pillage.

Expecting the rest of Barbarosa to be as it was in the begining, Wehrmacht winter gear was lacking or non existant. Vehicles ran out of fuel trying to stay thawed. There was as much loss to the Wehrmacht to exposure as sniper fire.

I do agree that given quantity, low tech can best high.

When Paulus and Sixth Army surrendered, I wonder if Hitler thought of Varus and the legions

Ofcourse they don't
A thousand special OPS soldiers are better than a million regular smuchs(however you spell that word) so don't think of the real number....

China would never attack american soil, weak naval / air technology, they only have power in numbers. A few million rag tag militia can do a lot of damage, but they get killed so quickly by the air support naval bombardment and the highly trained experienced soldiers coming back from iraq/whatever and constant artillery, chinese militia would suffer severe losses in men, organization, and strength very quickly.

If usa would ever attack their homeland, we would be in for one hell of a ride. Tac Nukes would be a real possibility, but once we launch one, then they launch 5, then game over.

Why always when the mention of war in a thread immediately people assume that is all about military conflict.

China has been wagging war against US for a decade already and what many doesn't realized is that in that short time they have achieved what took US decade to do and they are winning as we speak

The war we are speaking here is call the economic supremacy war, US made it economically to this days due to his economic supremacy, we were producers and we sold our goods that used to be of better quality than the crap been produced today to a willing world.

Now that position has fallen to China, people just China doesn't have to attack US militarily or with a war they are killing us in other ways and conflict is only in the economy front,

I would not trust anything a Chinese general says.

And - the higher the rank, like this fellow (top ranking, wouldn't you say?) - the more we should

think this is deliberate DIS information.

Im sure the US security agencies read between the lines in just this fashion.

The Chinese will start the next strategic war with the US - if they haven't economically destroyed us by then.

I'm not worried about a war with China, they need our money and we need their everything else. A major conflict between the worlds biggest economies would be good for no one.

I'm more worried about what China will do to its neighbors and all the soft power it's building up with Africa.
