Me too.

NASA itself may not be lying. I made no comment on that. But they are under the umbrella of known liars and cheaters, and manipulators of information, and the bad reputation of their peers has extended to them in certain circles. You cant play ball with crooks and not come under suspicion yourself. They are funded by "the government" and so when people dont trust "the government" that distrust can easily be extended to them.

And like others, I dont notice NASA decrying the movies that depict the government hiding news of ELE's (like 2012). Nor does anyone think to question why movies and books involving government conspiracy are such big sellers. No, lets blame the people talking about or even spreading THIS particular conspiracy because, selfishly, it involves us so now we care. Lets address the symptom, and not the disease.

And its not like various government agencies and personnel dont make the exact same generalization in reverse by pretending that every one talking about conspiracy is a nut just because some of us are, or that all conspiracy is untrue because some of them are. Is it?

i think 90% of the threads i've read on elenin haven't prediction or said anything of a collision with earth.
don't worry NASA, ATS'rs will be fine!

Really? Ok...

But way to go guys, now lets get the truth about Elenin if you will NASA. The longer you withhold info and dance around the issue, the longer members here will post about possible impact.

Put up or shut up time ladies and gents.

So you are asking NASA to tell you a lie that you can embrace and believe. One that supports the whole collision with earth theory or the theory that the comet is causing earthquakes? That is what you are asking NASA to do. They are not witholding information. This crowd is just refusing to believe the information being released is real. They would rather believe that catastrophy lurks around every corner and the govt wants nothing better than to see us suffer from it. They have the truth but it does not fit with their "thrill me with impending disaster so I can obsess over it in my boring eventless life" If we cant obsess over this impending doom we will have to think about our real lives. Where bills are due and the kids get sick and the car needs repair. Or the bigger world where policital disaster is a very real threat and the situation in the middle east is a real threat. (of course thats not real, thats a theater created by TPTB to gain wealth and control the worlds oil fields) It never ends.

I think I already mentioned that the 2012 Elenin event is not a certainty but a probability. So this mocking statement of "what if 2012 passes by with no incidence" is not very genuine in nature. It may well not happen, but the NASA doesn't want people to know anything about it at all. In the mean time, the people up there started building DUMBS. Why?

Because they don't want to take chances of the population being wiped out. I think the ATS was talking about the GOV's lying and their secretive activity. Not specifically promoting fear.

What exactly is your 2012 hoax? The year 2012 will come. There is no hoax about it. If you are referring to the apocalypse, or the earth ending, or aliens coming, or an enlightening, or another major change of some sort, than you are again mistaken. These things cannot be proven or unproven until 2013. So therefore cannot be considered a hoax. It is more of a belief.

There are a lot of members of ATS, but the belief does not come from here. This is just where people feel comfortable pressing the issue. The Mayans wrote what they did and developed their calendar a long time ago. But whether you are Muslim, Christian, Native American or many other religions, all describe an ending somewhere and are very close in description. Many leaders in these popular religions tell us that we are now in these end times.

Since there are more religious people than non religious people, those who actually believe that the "end times" (or whatever you want to call it) is upon us really outnumbers those who don't believe it.

You are wrong about more religious people than non religious. The ratio of believers in divinity has declined every year since we entered into the age of enlightenment. Where science bacame the truth and religion a belief. There was a time when religion ruled the world. There was nothing outside of the church. The church was law, the church was parent the church was teacher and all else was heriecy. If you stepped outside accepted beliefs you were jailed or killed.
We do not live in that world anymore thankfully. People believe in God. (on the weekends) but they believe more in science. When you count all these numbers as on your side you are stating a hope or belief but not solid fact. Can you show a study where it states that more people believe we are in the end times than dont? Or maybe your numbers only include members of GLP or ATS in that case you are probably correct.

Not at all, what I'm saying is, any information NASA has should be released upon verification so that the conspiracies can be stopped if untrue and we can all prepare if it is true.

That's the thing you see. If you only give out half the information about something, anyone is free to manipulate however they see fit as part of their own agenda. A little transparency and every fact laid out on the table goes a long way.

Find me a scientific article on Wiki that is factually incorrect.

Seems you are not very knowledgeable about Wiki if you never heard of the edit wars.

William Connolley, was “climate topic banned” at Wikipedia . Almost 30 editors were involved in the eight edit wars.

So yes if the issue is not "Politically Correct" Psydo-science it might be OK but otherwise we get fed the "Science" our "masters" want us to know.

You can go back to your nice insulated ivory tower now. Have a nice day.

I think NASA is pointing the finger in the wrong direction......Try Youtube!
Youtube may contain some good stuff but even ATS must agree it has the lion share of fruit cakes. ...Yes I'm a member too

Anyway NasaOlogist , the world doesn't end in 2012. The Mayan Elders explained in full, it is..."The Return Of The Men Of Wisdom", and fyi Oct 2011. You must be good at Maths, 360 to a Mayan Year, 365 to a Gregorian year. No better place to start counting than the Big Bang. Surely when you came to advise ATS you would of had some .........information, to throw at us? oops sorry I forgot WIKI..weak.
Try 2182 for size....If the world doesn't start co-operating before then ...forget it.

Really?

It seems to me that NASA stating that "alien life cannot exist elsewhere in the universe" would be a pretty big deal, and would be on the first page of search results, not buried within 268,000 pages.

Also, as such a NASA advocate, why don't you just have the announcement bookmarked. If I hated NASA as much as most of you, I would be documenting everything they say, and what you claim they said would be at the top of my list. Not a vague google search.

Regardless, you made the claim, so the burden of proof is on you to prove your claim. Im not going to prove your claim for you.

But if you rather believe them, here is the key. They do believe in E.T. What they do is denie what they know in public. In other words : Two faces. A game for all the sheeple.

Grasping at starws much?

Im sorry, but your eagerness to fit in and be accepted by the conspiracy theorist camp is clouding your cognitive abiltities to make reasoned observations. I know its "cool" to "hate on NASA", but seriously, be your own person, and do your own research, because you are just making yourself look silly now.

Also, until you actually cite the source of NASA making the claim that "alien life cannot exist elsewhere in the universe", you sir are nothing but a LIAR and a FEAR MONGERER.

If you can find NASA actually saying what you claim, I will be the first to apologize and retract my statement.

thats hilarious,
I'm like 99.999% positive that like a couple months ago someone here posted a orbital map of the path that elenin would travel FROM the NASA website, and it definitely went right by earth

after i saw that thread i tried to look at again a few weeks later and it wasnt on the nasa website anymore. im pretty sure it was nasa....

They do release information upon verification, it's just that people refuse to believe it! On top of that there are those who twist the information to suit their own agenda, like the fear mongers.

No thats not the thing.
The thing is they HAVE given us the information. Its a comet and its going to pass us. But that truth does not fit the doomsday agenda so of course "they" have not given us the truth or "they" have only given us some of the information.
You want info on comet elenin. Get a telescope and find it for your self.
Stop saying they are lying to us when the truth is no amount of information that goes against a collision is going to be good enough for the believers.

Just a question:

Has NASA always been truthful in the past?

~edit~ It appears that someone has started a thread about this very question: Proof that NASA lies to us!

Well, that was prophecy ! Edward Kennedy is dead now.
Really though, wiki can get you started but if you want to delve deeply into any subject you should start with edu projects, research through universities, peer groups that are more closely related to the subject you want to learn about.

Both Comet Elenin and Asteroid Apophis are real, but these concerns about collisions are without foundation. Unfortunately there are a few popular websites that are known for suggesting multiple catastrophes, including popularizing the 2012 hoax. Two that show up in any search for “Comet Elenin” are godlikeproductions and abovetopsecret, both of which predict either a very close pass by Earth or a collision.

Funny to see ATS forum getting mentioned

Hmm... very interesting...

Someone popped up in the Mensa forums two days ago saying exactly the same thing - wonder if it was the same astrobiologist?

(or inspired by their rhetoric)

I told them ATS was my peeps - and to not be dissin' em, yo!

I had not seen that poster post before - but it wasn't their first post to the forums it seemed.
