Ask yourselves honestly... will you simply dismiss this as being symbolic or metaporical? Do you think certain christian groups would not have brought this up in their arguments against a certain other prophet?

Note that jesus insisted that they buy a sword...and the disciples did not seem surprised upon hearing that, and simply replied that they have two.)

ok now, imagine that we are futher in the end times have begun.
Imagine a scenario where current events have escalated. Pakistan has become the next major flashpoint. Islam is continued to be viewed as a threat by both christians and irreligious people.

More regimes are overthrown... the turmoil in the middle east continues.
Current wars continue to grind on with no end in sight. All we see on the MSM are more lies and deceptions by TPTB. Events have occured (perhaps, a major natural disaster or a strange natural phenomena not yet experienced by our generation) that change the way of life as we understand it. Meanwhile, Western and European nations continue to witness the decay of christian culture and the rise of an irreligious national lifestyle.

One of half of the world is a place where societies allow religion to mauled open in the name of "secularism" and "free speech", but in the other half..., those who take up arms for a religious beliefs are labelled as a threat to the civilized world...as "insurgents" or "terrorists". There suddenly appears a skilled guerilla warfare commander... who will be labelled by the MSM as an "islamist terrorist". He will be extremely religious. He will fight for his religious beliefs against a government/ruling authority that is far from religious. He would be portrayed in the media as a typical islamic extremist. Beard, turban, AK, RPG... the works.


And then... this character turns out to be none other than.... Jesus Christ.

How would you all react?

HAHA you can't be serious? You only allow certain types to answer? You do realize you are on the internet and not in church right? If you want only Christians to answer take it to church otherwise all types will answer and have varying opinions.

If this is relation to May 21 why not just add your thoughts to the already existing thread on "what if jesus returns." Its pages long already.


Jesus will not return.....that is my opinion.

He died along time ago. And last I checked there is no such thing as ressurection, except in fictional texts

I imagine any living being offering a reliable sense of eternity to other persons would just become instantly powerful; though I imagine he would have to do more than duplicate a few hundred fish this time to beat out some skeptics.

hypothetically....we have 3 maybe 4 main stream accounts, The Bible, Koran, Book of Mormon, and Tanakh & Talmud if you think Messiah is Jesus, but then you are not Jewish anymore but Christian so its a grey area.

The premise of my thread is based on the idea that Jesus would return to slay the anti-chrrist...as believed by BOTH Christians AND muslims.

Both have their own understanding of Jesus...and his role when he will supposedly return... but both also differ on as to how he will return.

Christians, who do not believe in Islam, cannot shrug this away, thinking that Christianity came before... much like how the jews cannot dismiss christianity because their religion came first.

Now, ask yourself.... whats there in the bible that suggests Jesus will return to use violence?

Islam does not doubt that he will return to "kill the opposition" (No doubt Jesus had a use for violence, basis the sword verses of Jesus).

Oh give the OP a break. He said "please". He/she obviously was interested in the Christian point of view on a Christian subject. I'm atheist as can be, but he was polite and asked nicely and it wasn't intended as an attack thread on opposing points of view. What is wrong with a community that can't respect a simple request like that once in awhile.?

The thing is, there are only two groups that believe that Jesus was the "anointed one" who will return to kill an "anti-christ" character. So obviously, my thread was aimed at specific groups.
Which is why the idea of the thread involves this figure returning to be percieved as a rather reviled sterotype.

Remember, Jesus said he would come as a thief in the night ... I interpret this to mean, he said he would return in secret.

IF(thats a BIG if) he returned in the flesh, how many would recognize him?

He would not be a commander or general, he would likely be a hermit. No one would even consider his words valid because he would have no status in this world. Poor, humble, and meek.

Considering my good friend isn't here to post an answer (prehaps he just choses not to answer *shrug* )
