Reuters broke a rather important rule: They didn't link to, name, or even mention that they have a source - they simply wrote, "al Qaeda vowed". Unless they are in direct contact with members of al Qaeda and were told this personally (in which case they would have said so), they should have linked to a source, such as a website (as in the past) or newspaper.

Hell, you can't just post something even here on ATS without a source and expect people to believe you, so why would you expect this from a massive news agency?

Time to play Devil's Advocate.

In the case Osama bin Laden was killed on Sunday...

Why notify the World now, coming in close to a week after Osama's death? If he was their leader, or one of their leaders, don't you think they would have double-checked his health status, which was known to be sub-par, after not hearing from him and seeing the reports plastered all over mainstream television?

al Qaeda want's to shed Pakistan of the Americans who are there. Well, I'd also like to remove our military troops in Pakistan as they really shouldn't be there absent a declaration of war anyways - albeit, I propose doing it without bloodshed.

This is going to mean tighter security at all major areas within our country and possible more legislation advocating USA PATRIOT ACT - like laws and "enhanced interrogation techniques". I view this as incredibly dangerous to the American people.

In the case that Osama bin Laden really wasn't killed on Sunday...

Is anyone really surprised by this? As I said, it's taken almost a week for al Qaeda to say something, and the result is exactly the same as after September 11th, 2001. There are so many holes in the official story and the government is telling the populace that we have to go by their word, and they see no point in showing proof.

Given our ties with the "rebels" in the currently uprising countries, the funding of the muhajideen-turned-al Qaeda in the 80s, and the large amount of money we give to Pakistan... would it really be that surprising if our government orchestrated the release of this news - especially when no sources are claimed?

Fear is back on the agenda, folks. Possible "terrorist attacks" have been uncovered and it's all over the news. But, you would think that the intel found on Sunday would be highly classified and not released to the news, right? Mainstream news sources are repeating over and over 9/11 anniversary attacks (again) specifically targetting trains and subways, and have named five targetted cities.

Not showing proof of Osama bin Laden's death will set a precedent.

No, you don't get it.

Who said I trust them.

RE READ what I've been saying.

I am saying that these guys are the ones making the claims.

Boondock has been dismissing all the stories because of George Soros, does he have anything to do with SITE?

You're dismissing it because first you thought it was an Al Qaeda site, then because you had to pay and now because of an article on the Fear mongerer Alex Jones' site.

Notice where I have said things like "People have asked for clarification there already, so let's see what they say..." and "The above site is the one sourcing this information, true or not it's coming from there" and "if you check their twitter page, many people are asking for verification."

Is that trusting in them?

No, so DO NOT put words in my mouth.

Oh dear Aggie Man, that won't do.

George Soros is involved with turner.com, so by default that is fake... and Alex Jones said so too!!

So terrorists don't have websites, they don't even own the forums they post on, but they have pdfs?

So where did this information on the pdf come from if they don't have websites?

Yes, right on. Apparently links are no longer required here on ATS.

Al Qaeda told me that 9/11 was an inside job

No link needed. Top secret, must protect public, trust me.

No, I didn't "think" it was an al qaeda site, I KNOW it is a front for an al qaeda site, big difference. The difference being al qaeda websites don't exist, but SITE distributes al qaeda information when it is politically expedient.

More to the point, why is this in a pdf and not a link to a website or forum?

If I told you I posted my thoughts on ATS, I could give you the link, not a pdf of a page from ATS. Think about that for a second. Why would they not just give the website? Forum? Chat room? Myspace page, whatever it is they post on.

Oh right, you know this for a fact...

Cool, I suppose those facts were at that prison planet link above?

if so, I didn't see any facts, I saw what prison planet are famous for, supposition and mindless speculation.

It's bad enough that we are supposed to trust the media and government because a government contracted website is telling us that on some forum or chat room al qaeda, whom we have no identity given, has told us that they believe 100 percent the official story from their mortal enemy, but I'm afraid it's one step worse because we don't even have the link to the supposed forum or chat room.

As I said again

I'm the greatest person in the world. Al Qaeda told me

No link given, you'll just have to trust me. It's for your protection.

A few links easily found on the net claiming he did not have Dialysis. For me the real sources are the books about his life, particularly from Abdel Bari Atwan who interviewed OBL. Now they did once claim he had kidney problems however this was later found to be misinformation he might have had kidney stones and Diabetes but nothing requiring regular kidney dialysis, a point only further proved by the media reports that no dialysis equipment was found in his compound. If that equipment was to show up then I would reconsider my position on this rather minor point. I fail to see how it is significant.

It may just be prison planet but at least it's a link as opposed to NO link.

I will never get tired of this

Go on, say "it's just a youtube video" at least it's a youtube video as opposed to NOTHING

"It's just Alex Jones again," At least it's someone as opposed to NO ONE

"Conspiracy theorists will believe whatever a conspiracy theory website says to them" At least we believe a website as opposed to NOTHING

So yes, go on and bring prison planet into this and see if I care, see if I don't turn this around and make fun of your lack of a link.

Why are people arguing about whether or not terrorists have websites. Of course they have websites. The question whether or not there is a website that OBL or his inner circle owned or contributed to is the real question. I suspect the answerer is no.

UPDATE:

seems the CIA are working overtime here.
Fox news is now saying there is a new
audio tape of OBL made just a week before
his death and they will release it soon.

more BS !!!

It also said that an audio message bin Laden recorded a week before his death would be issued soon.

www.foxnews.com...

hell the lies are just not believable anymore.

This is just ridiculous. The Conspiracy nutjobs have been out in full effect since OBL's death. Its really quite tiring. The fact is the conspiracy theorists are going to believe what they want. No matter what sources you quote or evidence you give, any articles will quickly be labeled propaganda and dismissed by these unthinking morons. Hell, even if a picture was released it would be labeled a fake, photoshop job or whatever. Its almost the same as UFO Believers v. Debunkers they choose what to believe and what to outright reject because it doesnt mesh with their distorted opinion. I personally believe Osama is dead. If he wasnt a video would have been released with him stating he was still alive shortly after the Obama announcement. Not to mention I have a buddy staioned on the USS Carl Vinson who told me he personally saw the body. So basically you all can believe what you want. I know the truth. Continue pointlessly arguing amongst yourselves. That is all.

Instead of crying about the lack of sourcing in the reports, I suggest you do a little forensic work on your own, using the PDF I provided. Trust me, if you put a couple minutes of effort into it, then you can find the source on your own rather than expecting someone else to do it for you.

As for their reasoning for not providing a link...I don't know, I'm not a mind reader. However, my reason for not posting the link is because I will not provide links that promote and recruit individuals for terrorist activities. Nor would such a link satisfy you or others who will only continue to call it bogus.
