Yes, you can refuse to execute an order if you believe it is unlawfull. You will also have to prove the order was unlawfull. what Manning did wasn't so much in regards to "orders" and was more to do with personal accountability. He could have turned the information over to internal agencies thus utiluizing the chain of command to start an investigation. Instead, he chose to compromise the information with external entities hostile to and who have the intent of harming the United States of America. You know, folks like Hillary Clinton. So he willingly and without remorse endagered the national security of the US by choosing to work with it's enemies instead of going thru the chain of command. The information he divulged isn't his to do so with and he agreed to that before he was given access to it. When it comes out that he enlisted specifically to betray his country on behalf of his accomplises, he's gonna get life behind bars, at the minimum.

Bradley Manning will be spending much time recovering after the water boarding and other torture he more than likely received as his punishment, while at Levenworth will then be "diffused" and reprogrammed and taught that being a man and having a pair of balls and stepping up to tell the truth is a traitorous act and that he needs to hook up to his ipod and ipad and get a real life for now on while watching dancin with the stars and general hospital!

Thank you for saying this as I do agree with it partially. I have encountered so many bad men with black hearts that wear uniforms in my time. There are very few real men in uniform. Just my personal take.

That would have been a great post if you had applied it to an appropriate thread. Falkland Islands are British, have been for well over a century - you mean Britain has not agreed that Argentina can take control even though they have no claim and it's completely against the wishes of the actual people who live on the islands I guess? You mean that while residents of the Falklands islands are classed as having an excellent quality of life, British government did this in the hope that one day oil would be found?

Bradley Manning appears to have taken something that wasn't his to take and this led to Assange (spit) being seen as some kind of poster boy. Anything you mention about any other situation is meaningless.

His only alleged crime is helping expose war crimes and other "conspiracies" conducted by the U.S. government. So in fact criminals are the ones imprisoning him right now and torturing him...an American citizen. Even in a situation where his actions were even a bad thing...the maltreatment of him is unwarranted and highly unconstitutional.

This is not the plot for Unthinkable with SLJ. He is not a terrorist who planted nukes all over America...lol. He simply revealed incriminating documents about our actions overseas. (I am not simply talking about the chopper shooting up Reuters).

He is being held in solitary confinement, is forced to sleep naked, line up naked in front of his cell each morning, is being blocked from visitation by UN torture investigators, among other things.
