I agree about the mainstream music being poisoned foundations that are created so that the listener never gets to hear the real music out there created by real artists.

It also depends on one's mental situation.

A lot of music these days is intertwined with the drug culture, you know it is true.

The strong individual can see beyond this, and realise that the garbage that was fed to them for years is just destructive and hopeless.

I don't listen to rap, rather metal.

The same thing applies. The media puts forth bands like Metallica and Limp Bizkit, calling them 'Metal' or 'Rock' and feeds the kids with all the crap they have to offer.

Just like with any music genre, you have to dig deep to find quality.

When schools start lowering standards I start looking why.It starts with drumroll..............MSM! Surprise!! We all know TPTB do not want an informed society. What music dominates the airwaves as of now? Sure you have some rock and the new rock just really sucks! If rock was the weapon 106.3 94.5 and all the others would be playing rock.

vigilantcitizen.com... -town-and-the-occult-connexions/

Ever thought about where Roc-a-fella records comes from ? Rockefeller. As in John D. Rockefeller, - industrial military complex, oil biz, you name it

Take this as well:www.therundown... .tv/headlines/discuss-this/the-music-industry-and-the-illuminati-jay-z-beyonce-rihanna-lady-gaga/

Jay-z lyrics: i am in Maison (for french i am in the house) but obviously meaning "I am mason"

Edit: sorry Mixed it up, "I am coming home" is Diddy, not jayZ same same though, this is whay the mix up..

Any kind of media can be used as a scapegoat "corruptive influence". In my opinion it's not the music/news/movies that are dumbing people down. The real culprit is the fact that our school system crams useless information down our kids throats so they can regurgitate it on a test that helps the school district get money. People aren't being taught anything important anymore in school from a young age. I personally do not like rap music but it isn't the culprit for breeding stupidity. It's the political correctness machine running amok that is the cause for stupidity IMHO.

I don't like most rap but there is some i like, and some i don't like that is still good.

Like the first poster said, Immortal Technique is amazing, its pretty much ATS in rap.

My favorite verse would have to be..

"This is the point of no return I could never go back
Life without parol up state shackled and trapped
Living in the hole, lookin' at the world through a crack
But # that, I'd rather shoot it out and get clapped
I've gone too far, there ain't no coming back for me
Auschwitz gas chamber full of Zyklon-B
Just like the spanish exterminating Tynos
Raping the black and Indian women, creating Latinos
Mother #ers made me out of self richeous hatered
And you got yourself a virus, stuck in the Matrix
A suicide bomer strapped and ready to blow
Lethal injection strapped down ready to go
Don't you understand they'll never let me live out in peace
Concreate jungle, guerilla war out in the streets
Nat Turner with the sickle pitch fork and ma chatte
The end of the world, mother #er you not ready
This is the point of no return and nobody can stop it
Malcolm little running up before Elijah Muhammad
The commedent killed the dinosaurs, changing the earth
They love to criticize they always say I change for the worse
Like prescription pills when you miss using them nigga
The temple of nights when they took Jerusalem nigga
And figured out what was buried under Soloman's temple
Al Aksa the name is no coincidental
I know too much to government is trying to murder me
No coming back like cutting your writs open vertically
How could the serpant be purposely put in charge of the country
Genetic engineered sickness spread amongst me
My people are so hungry that they attack without reason
Like a #in' dog ripping off the hand that feeds him
Immortal Technique is treason to the patriot act
So come and get me mother #er cause I'm not coming back"

rap = narratives synchronized with beats. jazzed up poetry basicly.

i think every rapper should stop trying to write music, and write a book.

theres really no variation, at all, except with lyrics. which to me puts it in the genre of literature for me....not music or art.

and i happen to listen to a lot of rap, mainly the types already posted. although i dont consider any of them "Artists" as i dont see rap as "art". once one learns even the basics of real music, one learns rap and hip hop (as fun as they are) are not real music.

its kind of along the same lines as the front cover of a book.you wont find a book in an art museum just for its front cover image. books are judged by the ideas contained within, not by the art on the front cover.

i feel the same about rap. musically it cannot go very far.

9 times out of 10, the "artist" cant tell you anything about the production of their "beat" let alone be able to play it given the correct instruments. hell most of the time they just pay somebody else to make it, and choose the catchiest out of a given grouping of choices. similar to an author choosing a cover for their book.
