I know many hard workers that have been out of work for 2 or more years. Good people that worked for decades have families and paid taxes....most have lost their homes can't get more than part time employment. Living off meager food stamps.
You want to know how I know these people? My husband is an attorney that helps them keep and get back their homes. Fighting banks and court systems rigged against anyone that makes less than 50k a year.

The problem with this society, isn't in so much the "GOV". It is the lack of perspective and empathy from humankind. So many just think everyone is a welch and a loser or a druggie. That is the propaganda of the politicians at work. You are blinded by your jealousy and your fear of not having your needs meet. Fear that someone may have more than you.
Obviously for a lot life is great and dandy...well your life is not everyone else's life. Get some perspective outside your own little perfect world and learn to be generous, kind and empathetic. Stop behaving like a society of psychopaths!

I find it interesting that we focus so strongly on Letitia, the leacherous welfare baby machine and never once focus on General Electric, or Lehman Brothers.

What we 'give' to Letitia is a penny on the sidewalk compared to what multinational corporations get in tax breaks and subsidies, not to mention the stranglehold said power companies have on innovation and real solutions.

Why don't you just come right out and say it: You think welfare is what has made America that greatest nation on this planet. Welfare is what defeated Hitler and the Japanese after they attacked Pearl Harbor. Welfare is what put Neil Armstrong on the moon. Just say it: You think welfare has made America totally great!!

good point! Yes, since the military is completely subsidized with taxpayer dollars and basically everyone had to enlist in WW2

Our social programs are ONE of the things that make this country great.

How did you draw that conclusion?

And does tax breaks to corporations create more jobs in America? That was a rhetorical question. Of course it does. Which is why Ford and Government Motors have moved their operations to Mexico....even after Obama bailed Government Motors out to the tune of seven or eight hundred billion.
