Dude...you just gave me the chills.
I know the GOP is pretty twisted (not all...but many corporatists)...but never really understood the actual end game they were working for, so just left it as insanity to win political points.
You say that and suddenly the picture makes sense...I don't believe you..or rather, I don't want to believe you, but damn thats got me worried.
Time to do a bit of research I guess..if that is true, its simply insidious..but that might be a bit to over the top Dr. Evil for me to immediately accept.

Good point, and I see your argument. But I raise you one more prong tongue!
Source Just one source, there's sources ALL OVER if your still in denial
A September 11, 2003 New York Times article shows that President Bush proposed “the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.” His proposal: An agency within the Treasury Department to supervise mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Fearing that mortgages would no longer be available to people who were unable to pay them back, Democrats eventually killed the proposal. The current meltdown in the mortgage industry is a direct result of giving mortgages to people who could not pay them back, a practice protected by Congressional Democrats.
source Gee mister frank, i think thats because you guys killed his bill, and he didn't like what yours would/did allow to happen
"The truth is when President Bush took office, and the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress, he did not make any progress on comprehensive legislation to reform the regulation of the Government Sponsored Enterprises. It was not until 2005, when the House, on a bipartisan basis, and over the President's objections finally passed a reform bill. It died in the Senate in part because the White House's failure to make it a priority." - Barney Frank

He did not say welfare made this country great. He worded it differently. Social Security and Medicare is NOT welfare.

the bush tax cuts did help, yes the rich got a tax break too. on both sides there is a trickle down effect. raise taxes on the rich you get their money and it trickles down to the poor, lower taxes on the rich and you get them coming back to the country and hiring again which means more jobs for the poor. either way money is trickling down, its just a matter of destination.
the stock market hit a record high of 14,000 under bush. the crashes happened because of greedy speculators, and the democratic brain children Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

the patriot act really was intended for terrorism, BO got voted in because repealing it was one of his talking points. did he? nope. why? because it allowed the dems a platform to do what they've been wanting to do for decades. curb dissent among the masses. now something that was enacted for the benefit of Americans to monitor suspect terrorist activities goes from benevolent to malevolent use. why do you think Janet Napalm was able to find information to classify the "Right-wing Extremists"
Bush was helping the middle class, Obama wants to get rid of it.. to the elites ( democrats included, else the top 8 richest people in congress wouldn't be dems) the middle class is a class too close. us serfs are ugly dirty things that need to be kept away from the rich, pretty and powerful.
OH and Clinton did nothing except be a good pragmatist in the midst of a GOP held house and senate. the surplus we had was because of the GOP. you guys who claim it was him just say that because your dems and he was also the president/

I STILL haven't gotten a reply on my post about China.
China is also kicking our behinds because companies know they are dealing with a well fed, educated, housed and healthy workforce that does not have personal transportation issues.

What are your alternatives to unemployment? More than 59% of Americans are in favor of national, or single payer health care. To say that "no one" wanted it is a patently absurd.
