I read parts of the letter, and it doesn't seem like it's syntax is structured very well. Here's an example:

``I hate coming home from work because it hurts to be home in our apartment,'' a search warrant document, released Wednesday, quotes from the letter. ``I can't imagine life with you if things don't change. I got someone I don't know I want to spend the rest of my life with unless changes are made.''

I got someone I don't know I want to spend the rest of my life with unless changes are made" -- Right...that sounds like someone who doesn't have a firm grasp on grammar. She was educated at University....I would assume she has a bit more sense than that. I can see perhaps Mark writing the note, knowing it'd be found, and trying to say she ran off with another man so he'd be off the hook.

Just seems a bit odd to me. For a copy of the letter go to KUTV News SLC

I thought the exact same thing about that letter. Unless she wrote it after receiving the phone call from the university that made her so upset. You know, like when your emotions are exploding and your mind is going in several directions. It seems like IF Lori did write it, she left out a couple of words. "I've got someone that I don't know if I want to spend the rest of my life with unless changes are made." I mean...it could happen?!?!? If she did write it, it is understandable that it wasn't proper english. She was devasted. Her whole life has been a lie. Just a thought.

I wish we knew if the letter was hand written or typed. That makes a HUGE difference.

Looking at the way the letter was quoted, it looks like certain sentences have just been taken out of context. For example, if she'd written something like "I wanted...when I got married" it would fit with the quote about "I got someone..."

Also, the police are looking for evidence of that letter on their home computer and even though I've heard conflicting reports locally, I'm going with typed...otherwise, why would the computer have anything to do with it?

I believe the story said it was typed. Typing would make me think...eh maybe she didn't write it..but in the end, the syntax will give it away if it isn't her. They'll need to compare it to other writings.

Here's a local link that sites it isn't made clear whether the letter was handwritten or typed.

Has anyone heard anymore about the video showing Mark dumping Lori's body?

UPDATE - the letter was TYPED and they (the police) are saying that it was typed by Lori. Speculating that she was unhappy in her marriage. Not sure when it was typed, maybe after she received the disturbing phone call from the university.

Indeed the police know more than they're letting out, which is what will help make the case successful. It astounds me how crappy he planned the murder...and now I don't doubt he planned it. You don't just come across a .22 and decide, Oh hell I'm bored I guess I'll go shoot my wife. Lame.

SLP confiscated the computer used to type the note. Allegedly, the document was saved on the computer, complete with date typed (found in Properties).

I am university educated, and I have had the displeasure of experiencing a traumatic event and trying to write about it afterwards. Hell, even MY words don't make sense to me when I calm down.

Per FOX news, looks like they just found her remains in that landfill, not confirmed yet though.
