Easter doesn't even have anything to do with Christianity.

I say if the folks in that area want to have a "coloured sphere with candy but no peanuts because someone might be alergic" day, then let 'em.
Just as long as no-one stops MY family from going to church that day, we're cool.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but according to the story, isn't Easter the day Jesus arose from the dead?

1.The most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and held (in the Western Church) between March 21 and April 25, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox
2.The period in which this occurs, esp. the weekend from Good Friday to Easter Monday

They are Easter eggs...always have been always will be in my book.
The next full moon (a time of increased births) is called the Ostara and is sacred to Eostre the Saxon Lunar Goddess of fertility (from whence we get the word estrogen, whose two symbols were the egg and the rabbit.
The Christian religion adopted these emblems for Easter which is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. The theme of the conception of the Goddess was adapted as the Feast of the Annunciation, occurring on the alternative fixed calendar date of March 25 Old Lady Day, the earlier date of the equinox. Lady Day may also refer to other goddesses (such as Venus and Aphrodite), many of whom have festivals celebrated at this time.

Remember back in the day when people enjoyed holidays whether they were religious or not because they were fun?

While 'spring spheres' sounds a bit silly to me, Easter is undeniably a religious holiday. Why do I have the feeling if the kids were forced to celebrate a Jewish or Muslim holiday, you'd also call that "political correctness"?
By the way, is it political correctness to object to someone calling your mother a nasty name to her face? If not, explain why not.

but there is blatant hypocrisy in people changing the names of things because they "offend" them...........its not offensive.......its ridiculous........
voice of reason:"so you want to change something because you say that it offends you and you have the right not to be offended........even tho changing it offends other people"
"they can deal with it"
and that people is the plague spreading the world..... "I want what i want and i dont care what it does to others"
Wait, who is being hypocritical here? You agree that there is no right not to be offended, yet when people call Easter Eggs "Spring Spheres", you're offended, and you want them to change what they're doing so YOU don't have to be offended? Is it true that it's OK if someone else is offended but NOT OK if you are? How about this? YOU call them whatever you want. They call them whatever they want. And no one has to give up a thing. Everybody's happy, right?

And in an ideal world if we could call them what we want and they could call them what they want, and everyone would be happy, that would be great........
But thats not the case...........instead they insist on changing the names of everything to satisfy their own narcissism
