Also the Jungle style boots are lightweight and fit the exact same but will save your feet in warm weather.


In fact a lot of the gear covered in this thread can be found there to give people an idea of what is what.

I personally recommend this type of gear over the REI weekend warrior gear... In my expereince the fancy stuff works better... for awhile, then it breaks and you're SOL. The surplus type stuff seems to last forever, and ever, and ever.

I had a pair of surplus Vietnam jungle boots that wore for 7 years of heavy use. I had to get rid of them when the soles wore all the way through. The rest of the boot was still together.
