I went to see this movie on opening night at the theater, not knowing that it wasn't real. I thought the video clips of the doctor speaking were all real.

I freaked out so badly I was shaking lol. On the part where the doctor tries to get her child and is fighting with the alien I was soooo freaked out.

I don't know but in certain Native American tribes the owl is seen as a very bad omen. There Natives up here near where I live and I know they will not touch an owl feather and will walk around a dead owl leaving it where they lay. They believe the owl is a sign of evil and bad news.

I HATED this movie and Homer you know I love my aliens.

There wasn't a single alien in it, disappointing. If I am gonna watch an abduction movie I want to see aliens. I get the owls and their part but I wanted to see aliens, you know like the peeking alien in "Communion," now THAT freaked me out!

This movie is as fake as fake can be. Universal was sued by Nome, Alaska because of this movie. They won, as they should. I think these movie makers marketing things as real events shouldn't be allowed to. It's false advertising which I thought was illegal?? Also there are still idiots out there who think this, Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch are real even though they are not.

Homer this movie would have been better if there were aliens. It didn't freak me out and I actually wanted to walk out. The only creepy thing that happened was a week later I saw a UFO that scared me half to death at 3am. It was there, moved really fast then bam disappeared.

Oh the other thing about this movie that bothered me were the small half done Sumerian references...

I looked at the trailer but have not seen the movie but I do not see the problem with abduction as long as it does not involve the classic TV Trope Anal Probes.

Other abductees have reported owls as well....I think they report the white owl because a person's mind HAS to give order to chaos, and to insulate itself from traumatic expirences

The other night I kid you not I was woken up around 3:00 am, which is not unusual for me, to an Owl outside on my balcony hoot hoot hooting away. It was beautiful and I didn't get scared unlike some people on here who probably would have soiled their pants...lol I went outside to watch it and relax. I don't know what kind it was but I have seen them around since I was little. They are pretty big and common in the area.

There were 3 that would sit on top of my roof at my old house and make so much noise lol I use to go outside and tell them to be quiet and it was funny they would sit there look at me and then stop moving around. Personally I like owls and I dont think they are creepy but beautiful. I know different cultures have different thoughts on them but to me when I see one I smile.

But if they were cloning abductees - why do they need to abduct more than one person? Cant they just abduct one and clone him./her zilllions of times?? Or do they just want a variety of flavors??? :-D

I don't really favour Milla Jovovich movies especiallya after the first Resident Evil. But there were parts of the movie that i couldn't get out of my head. I am a harsh movie critic and feel despite the erogenous marketing, this movie has its thinking parts.

If you want to dig, look into the writer/director Olatunde Osunsanmi.

I didn't like this movie. Maybe cos I knew from the offset it wasn't real. The trailer made it look thrilling, but the actual film itself was slow & boring. So much so I can't remember anything about it. If people like slower, stranger movies then this is for them. The only message it left me with is - the real world of aliens is far more interesting than this movie. I can't quite remember it, but the bit of the cop and the UFO and no follow up really pissed me off.

Aye, they did get into a bit of sumerian issues in the movie, which was quite interesting. Scary, scary movie! The freakiest parts were where they were speaking ancient Sumer, was Creeeeeeeepy!

(And many people know, Sumerians and Anunnaki are very close-bound in the conspiracy world!

Comments? Thoughts?

Actually the movie is just as such. In the relation with the phenomena is a total insult and disinformation.

Wait, is it good tho?

Did I waste 690 megs in bandwidth for it then?

It has milla in it, it has to be good...

So... Should I watch this now, or the man from earth again.

Both lauded for their greatness, both howled at for their inability to produce a "ZOMG ALIANS" effect.

*tosses coin*

Heads it is...

ohh if only I had decided before hand what heads meant...

The Fourth kind is just a movie and none of it is true. The movie studio just lied and said it was a true story just like they claimed Paranormal Activity was based on a true story or actual events. They claimed it was true just to drag us in the movie theatre to make ticket sells. A simple search on google you will see that the movie is obvisouly not a real story.

That was one of the greatest movies I've seen, but my parents hated it and called all of it false. I said differently, and then was sent to my room -.-

Bah..... I found it very off the mark concerning the phenomenon. The killing, violence, screaming voices, coming from the abductees? That is not a part of what happens to people at ALL.

The owl images, yes..... that is documented in many accounts and happened to us. My hypothesis was that this experience breaks down your framework in belief about reality, which causes a a sort of "flood" or opening to the subconscious and collective subconscious. Just a result of losing those protective walls which define what is real and what is not. Various archetypes arise..... the owl being a prominent one- exactly of the knowing the other side of things; that which is usually pushed aside to the subconscious.

Other animals with large dark almond shaped eyes also become prominent (deer, for example). This too, has signification connected with the experience (and not just that grey's have similar eyes). But with collective consciousness; herd or hive mentality. When ever we see animals with visible white around the eye, we automatically assume it is more intelligent, more self aware. This experience opens awareness to collective awareness instead.
