I liked this movie a lot.
Some want to decry it because it's made to seem like a real story, and it's not.
But many movies are fake true stories.
I thought it was scary, which is rare for me. I really liked it.

I thought it was extremely frightening. The moment it was over I went the computer to find out if the "real" footage was authentic. I breathed a sigh of reflief to see it was fake. But it was still a really good movie!

Other abductees have reported owls as well....I think they report the white owl because a person's mind HAS to give order to chaos, and to insulate itself from traumatic expirences

Christopher Walken played Streiber, and it was directed by Phillip Mora, who is a friend of whitley
It was an OKAY movie, not the best tho, but makes you wonder

Good thread!
Yea, even though it is not "actual" footage and all...still a VERY interesting movie! I don't see where the "disinfo" is in it...I find it kind of cool that something as mainstream as this got linked to the Annunaki and Sumerians...even though the word "Annunaki" doesn't appear in the film, I'm sure if one were to watch this movie, and do a little research on the Sumerian and alien connection they would probably find it interesting. If anything this movie was far from an insult and disinfo to the subject to me. I see it as a story with a lot of truth buried deep in the film..with references to Communion and the whole Sumerian/Annunaki connection. I didn't know there was a movie about Communion...currently downloading it now
!! Seeing I called my local Suncoast and they don't have it
lol. Figured I'll download it and if it's worth buying I will get them to order it for me. Great thread!
S&F!!

I enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it. However, if you also enjoy this movie, do not make the same mistake I did and watch it multiple-times.

I think it was a well done movie, although I could not get over how annoying Milla Jovovich's voice was. I wasn't too frightened by the concepts, but when I heard the recordings on the tape I got chills.

I saw maybe half of the movie, switched it off out of a combination of fear (I was watching it alone late at night) and the feeling of "my god, this movie is horrendous".

I'd watch it again at some point the whole way through and like others said, despite the bad reviews it's cool it's out there putting the idea in public.

Lol I have watched it multiple times...yea it was kind of scary a little...not too bad to me. Haha Milla Jovovich's voice didn't bother me...it was the chick who she was supposed to be playing who's voice was annoying, the Abigale Tyler chick. Milla is tooooo hott to have an annoying voice!

I had very high hopes for this movie and the plot had some serious potential, but the directorship and screenplay was the most ridiculous, childish drivel I have seen since 2012. Such a let down. I manned through the whole thing and all I can think was, "how stupid does Hollywood think we are?". This "based on truth movie" made the Blair Witch look like a masterpiece ( which it was for its time). A great idea once again ruined by the incompetence of Hollywood.

I liked the movie, the only thing I did not like was is that the cheriff had the evidence to show she wasnt crazy or did anything to her daughter, but still did not want to believe. That made me mad

Great Movie!
Did a little research, "real" footage in movie isn't real.
Still love the movie though.

Yeah i worked that out the first time i saw it, just because an actress says on screen "this film is based on a true story" does not mean that its true, however it did make the film quite terrifying, i really enjoyed it.

I thought the abigail Tyler "chick" actually looked like an alien.

A great film, though if you are already afraid of owls, don't watch,.... it will make you fear them more, especially the ones that watch you through your bedroom window..

edit on 31-3-2011 by JonoEnglish because: (no reason given)

No, thats just the man next door, seriously though the scariest bit for me was the recording of the alien voices, like screams, it really freaked me out.
