The OP is obviously young, and has not had any paranormal experiences. Perhaps someday, he will "SEE"
and now for a bit of scientific proof...

Albert Einstein's theory of relativity shows that mass is a form of energy (see rest mass energy) so they can transform one into another. So the distinction between "matter" particles (such as those constituting atoms) and energy particles (say photons of light) is not wide - they can turn one into other

The human body literally glows, emitting a visible light in extremely small quantities at levels that rise and fall with the day, scientists now reveal.

Pfft. I find your lack of knowledge disturbing. I've been out of my body altogether and I've stood underneath the Crown of the Queen of Heaven. I have gnostic knowledge - I KNOW you are wrong.

The afterlife is a psychic phenomenon. Spend a few months familiarizing yourself with the parapsychological literature and maybe it will wake you up. I recommend starting with these books.

The Varieties of Anomalous Experience
The Parapsychological Revolution

Consciousness is not energy
What an absolutely stupid statement. Consciousness if the flowing of electrical energy through your brain. Memories are stored in a "flash drive" type of manner, but consciousness it's self is an energy that might possibly exist after death. Some research has shown the body loses something like 1 gram the moment you die, some people hypothesize the is your "soul energy" leaving your body, your raw consciousness moving into the next realm of existence, a non-physical existence. But hey, no one really knows. I don't, and neither do you. Your conclusions aren't set in stone.

Energy has no weight.

I completely disagree... You use your personal beliefs as your evidence. I use my own personal beliefs as my evidence.

One thing is for sure. Neither of us know for sure. We will both have our answer one day...

Either I am right or I am wrong. Personally, I think I am right.

Enjoy the ride until then!

Peace and love

Nope your wrong. There is no billion year dream your just gone. Lights out, thoughts out. If you could resurect and become alive again your memory of your being dead would be nothingness not emotion not fear and not pain. Of course if you remember you last living moments that might suck.

Psalm 11:6

Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.

That's what is going on in Hell, it is so hot. All these things should kill you, but you don't die! You had to keep enduring all these things. I wanted peace of mind, to get away from the screams and to get out of there. It's like when you want to go home at night, when you had a rough day, you just want peace of mind. But there you endured all the screaming and all the torment. And you never ever get away from it, ever. In Isaiah 57:21 it says:

"There is no peace," Says my God, “for the wicked.?/i>

You are also naked in Hell. It is just another thing to have to endure. Shame! In Ezekiel 32:24 it talks about shame in the pit.

There is Elam and all her multitude, all around her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who have gone down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living; Now they bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit.

And in Job 26:6

Sheol is naked before Him, and Destruction has no covering.

That means God can see into Hell, so it is observable to Him. But also you are naked in Hell, just another thing you have to go through.

(Dry)
There is no water in Hell, at all, no water. There's no humidity in the air and no water of any kind. It is so dry; you are desperate for a drop of water, just one. Just like the scripture says in Luke 16:23-24,

And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Man Describes Heaven After 'Dying' in Car Crash

Thursday, February 14, 2008

This is a rush transcript from "The O'Reilly Factor," February 13, 2008. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.

Watch "The O'Reilly Factor" weeknights at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET and listen to the "Radio Factor!"

BILL O'REILLY, HOST: In the "Personal Story" segment tonight: we begin a special two- part series about what happens after we die. Is there an afterlife? Obviously, a vital question. And most Americans believe there is.

According to an ABC News poll, 90 percent of us say death is not the end. It certainly wasn't for Don Piper, who was pronounced clinically dead after a car crash back in 1989. Mr. Piper was even put in a body bag.

What happened after that is an amazing tale chronicled in his best-selling book, "90 Minutes in Heaven." I spoke with Mr. Piper a few days ago.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

O'REILLY: So, Mr. Piper, you're driving down a narrow lane. You see a tractor-trailer coming dead at you. Pick it up from there.

DON PIPER, DIED FOR 90 MINUTES: Well, I was hit head-on. I had no idea. It was a narrow highway. I had nowhere to go. I'm on a bridge, and he hits me head-on with such impact that the wheels of the driver's side of the truck roll over my car, crush me in it, shove it up against the railing of the bridge, and I'm killed instantly.

The great thing is that for those of you who don't know death is an illusion...the excitement of finding out is going to be incredible.

Of course it is going to be great for everyone but I already know that death is simply a transition.

Well, I'm glad that most people aren't intrinsically seething with a need to savage this world with unrestrained malevolence and seeing themselves as restricted only by their belief that a bigger and nastier monster will slaughter them if they step out of line. Hell, if you know anything about the concept of God and what that notion implies, you're already fried for all eternity for being such a naturally blood thirsty predator in your heart and soul. So you may as well get to all that killing that is obviously a core aspect of the real you, and to enjoying all that blistering evil that yearns to define your corporeal existence with legendary infamy.

I'm still waiting for the opening poster (who keeps viewing this topic and selectively posting to what he/she wants) to address some of the bigger arguments against the OP.
If this isn't a troll thread designed to rouse people up that is.

As an interesting side note to the guy who talked about '___' being needed to enter/exit:

. When a person dies their frame of time expands infinitely and elements of the subconscious are made conscious which include the tunnel of light and the crystal cities. that is why some religions see Jesus while others see Mohammad. If I created a god and gd forbid worshiped it I would see it in my so called after life.

the biggest proof is that people say that they experience days or even years in this dream world. that movie "what dreams may come" is very close to the truth.

I think you illustrate my point perfectly when you say "enjoying all that blistering evil that yearns to define your corporeal existence."

That is exactly my point. Without a belief system in some type of spirit, then there is no such thing as "evil." There is only the law of the jungle. Without a belief system in some type of connection and energy between living things, there is only a corporeal existence. If there is only a corporeal existence, and no such thing as evil, then it is perfectly acceptable to satisfy natural urges from a purely biological entity.

It isn't that I am fearful of a "scarier monster," in fact many humans have believed that man was more powerful than the Gods, that man has actually killed our own Gods. The reason I am civilized is that I believe all living things are connected, and I don't wish to do any harm to others in that spiritual realm. They are actually extensions of myself.

BUT, if I truly believed as the OP believes, then in my opinion it would be illogical to deny myself anything. Everything in life would be an immediate risk vs. immediate reward decision. There would be no thought into how it would affect others or impact the larger system. Naturally, and without any evil associated with it, there would be no need to limit myself in anyway, so long as the reward outweighed the immediate risk. The law of the jungle. To the victor go the spoils. Natural selection. Pure animalistic, instinctual, freudian id behavior at all times.

Anybody that would see that behavior as "evil" would be looking at it from a spiritualist point of view. If you believe as the OP believes, there is no such thing as evil. No right or wrong. Only natural instincts.

How many times in a day do we all ignore our instincts, because we are working from a paradigm that something exists beyond physical urges? Imagine what it must be like to not have that paradigm.

Lions and Tigers and Sharks and Kodiak Bears do not think about "evil" or right and wrong. They only follow their instincts, and there is no such thing as regret or guilt or evil.

Imagine being an Apex predator with no spiritual guide. Without a belief system, that is what many humans would be. Maybe the OP is not a predator, but many of us are, and we are only civilized because of our belief system.

Google it. Some old Doctor Death that did exhaustive studies on people as they died, and apparently his research showed that their body mass actually changed by 21 grams at the time of their death.

Others have attempted to repeat the findings and have declared them false. There is debate on ATS about it, and most believe his findings were either falsified or just plain faulty.

There is even a movie called 21 grams.

Having had lucid dreams all my life and OBE's in the last 5 years I've come to the conclusion that there is something else. I believe when where born our umbilical cord is cut but we also have another cord which connects our physical body to our lighter body. I don 't know if this lighter body travels outside our physical one every single time we go to sleep but I think with the right practice and becoming conscious at certain points as your body enters sleep, you can then project outwards and on doing so, you then entering the astral dimension which I believe is where we'll be going once we die and disconnect from our physical body. Once you start experiencing OBE's on a regular basis and find yourself lifting out of your body and travelling, its impossible not to believe. I believe people in the astral must find themselves watching or communicating with people from the physical world on many occasions seeing a long cord trailing behind us as we do so. I've often wondered if ufo's aren't actually from another planet but are created in this dimension to try and communicate with us here. A lot of the time when I astral travel I've noticed how there's a lot of advanced machinery/robots running and creating and everything is very well organised and I rarely come up against people.
