Hi Everybody

First thread, so be gentle.

I took three pictures of the sun today. All around the same time, but from different areas. I took the pictures with my crappy Palm Pre cell phone, so I'm fully aware that the anomoly I caught could have easily been a lens flare, but it was odd that it was always in the same general spot. However, I'm not sure, so I came here to get opinions.

It is always overcast here in Pittsburgh, but today there were very few clouds. (or con/chemtrails :roll

Picture #1 was taken first, and through my front winshield of my car. That is why it is blue-ish.

Picture #2 was taken with nothing between my camera & the sky.

Picture #3 was also taken with nothing between my camera & the sky

Can you offer more details about when and where these pictures were taken from? I get the impression that the first pic is a completely different location from pics #2 and #3. 2 and 3 appear to be the same location.

Picture #1 & #2 were taken around 4:30PM EST. There was no more than 2 minutes in between pictures #1 & #2. There was about 1hr in between #2 & #3.

100% sure it's lens effects or sun flare. No doubt at all.

Picture #1 was taken through my winshield & I was sort of tilted to the right to get a good angle. (I was waiting for my husband to meet me at the grocery store & sitting in the car with the kids)

Picture #2 was taken when I got out of my car a couple minutes later. I can't remember which way I had to turn to get it.

Picture #3 was taken when I was done grocery shopping, about an hour later. I am pretty sure I took it in the same position I took #2 because I was standing outside my car which was parked in the same parking spot.

for being your first thread i can say its the best pocs of this anonamaly so far...usually the pics can easily be disputed as a flare on the lens or something elsr to do with the camera..but these look like they may be a liitle harder to disprove...I really need to start carrying my camera around more...finally got my girlfriend to charge the stupid thing but anyways good pics...S+F

From thread title:

...the sun plus another glowing ball. Flare?

Yes. Flare. (Other words, purely an optical effect of your camera and lens. This is VERY common....).

End.

Lens flare imo.

Notice how the position of the anomoly does change slightly and the redish halo around it in the first two shots?

If there was anything "extra" in the sky I think it would be big news by now. Also, the fact that you talk about lens flare and photos in your OP and not "something in the sky" (naked eye) leads me to believe you know it isn't a "glowing ball".

Be careful about what you post, hoaxing will get you banned and as a new member that would be sad. Well done for being realistic and not sensationalist.

welcome btw

I think it is a sun flare and i've seen many photos like these.

You also said you took a picture through your windscreen? that would give the photos less credibility in my opinion.

lol. I'm hardly trying to post a 'hoax'. Just asking for opinions on what I captured on my camera. Thx for the advice.

Photos 1 and 2 appear to be lens reflection with what appears to be the sun behind it.
Photo 3 is most interesting, possible Sun Dogs! I know something like this has been
brought up on ATS before but I can't remember if there was a conclusion to what it was.
Great image OP

Face/Palm....!

S for your observance...

You chose to award a "star" to a (suspiciously new) member who chose the name synonmous with one of the craziest crackpots ever to sully YouTube??

OK....whatever......I guess I can see your odd sense of humor (maybe..)....sardonic and dry.....

A sunflare proves to you that Nibiru exists?

Nibiru,if it exists,is still at the edge of our solar system because there is a planetary body there.

I get this a lot whenever I take a picture of the sun with my phone. No matter what time of day it is always in the same spot. I think it's just a sun flare. Or Rick Flair! WOOOOOO!

its completely obvious its a lens flare......notice how far down it is in pic 3 ? that would be clearly visible to the human eye....sorry this one doesnt grab any attention....if any of these people think thats really another fireball/sun/nibiru whatever your wrong... and you need eyeglasses... -=)

TO THE DUDE THAT POSTED THIS....GOOD LOOKIN OUT ATLEAST YOUR TRYIN TO FIND SOMETHIN...but nah its nothing..... p.s doesnt take a jedi to notice this a lens flare... best way for you to prove it to yourself is take the same pic with 2 different cameras, ull notice u may have a lens flare in one area and on the other pic it will be different position..... or u may not even reveal one. Easiest way for someone to debunk themself is use 2 - 3 different cameras.....hopefully it removes some of the panic from peoples minds..... have a good one.
