Yes it is frustrating. What is also frustrating is I'm sure not all americans are like this, but because this sort of thing keeps happening it does get hard not to make those sweeping generalisations. I'm sure americans would get equally frustrated if some other nation did the same, talking about the 'world' but only mentioning themselves. Nobody likes arrogance and self-centredness.

As for someone else's comment about 'complainers of the post'. Of course people are going to complain if a thread doesn't do what it says it will do. It would be one thing if the title was 'US map of the strange sound phenomenon heard', but it isn't. Therefore, you end up with a lot of people clicking on the thread and wasting their time trying to hunt out the 'map of the strange sound phenomenon heard around the world'.

Honestly, sometimes I wonder if others were right about having a separate forum for other nations. Maybe America's world is too 'big' to encompass the rest of the world?

I'm going to hedge my bet you are hearing low frequency energy waves from Japan.
They have had more than 700 5+ quakes in 13 days and some are less than 5 Km from the surface.
These can travel around the world. Maybe some resonance as well

I was thinking about this yesterday. Maybe someone should convert this into sound and see if it sounds anything like the noise people are hearing.

This has been completely lost by a lot of people coming along with many different stories whihc span a very long timeframe. There are now a ridiculous number of threads running on the matter which is just leading to a lot of confusion. Its almost as if someone is trying to confuse us. There is also a strong attempt at trying to blame this on earthquake zones.

could specify how you got to suspect that someone might be confusing us?

Hi benoV after reviewing the YouTube link this is a similar noise to what I heard this morning in Gloucester! Weird and unnerving! Thanks

If that were true all this noise would be on the west side of the U.S. Low frequency waves traveling from Japan to the East coast of the U.S. and nobody in between reporting the sound?? doesn't seem plausible

The rumble sounds are clustered around the great lakes. I now have a database of the rumble sounds dating back to 1955. Here's the map as of 5:00 am, EDST 22-3-11. This is the combined compass/rumble noise map.

Reported rumble noises to 1955

Shreveport to around Vidalia, Louisiana USA March 8, 2010

Just wanted to note on the one in Louisiana during March 2010. I did not personally hear the sound somehow although everyone else in town did (NE of central Louisiana). It was not a long rumble but a loud BOOM. The response from authorities was a meteor. The sound was not remotely similar to the rumblings.

I read about the Taos hum, decided to go look for myself. I was told it is most pronounced near the bridge over a river gorge north of town. Found lots of folks near the bridge, about half were selling indian style jewelry to the half that were apparently tourists. No hum, no one I spoke to claimed to be able to hear one. Nice view of the gorge from the bridge.

This is crazy. On the early morning of 3/21/2011 around 3amPT I was awakened by this loud rumbling sound about three times.I live in southern California. The wife and I were talking about this last night.I thought it was thunder at first but it just kept on rumbling away. it was raining pretty hard and I actually got up and went outside on to the patio to check it out. It sounded like a 747 flying right over my house in the dark. but it would slowly fade thgen be back in a minute or two.It did this from about 2:30amPT to about 5:00amPT.

There have been some reports to indicate that due to increased solar flare activity, and the effect the magnetic field of the sun has on the earth, I would predict a ''you heard it here first'' that there will be an earthquake not on the western side of the states, but on the east coast,

''Berkland says that the approaching seismic window is one of the largest in many years. He sees it developing between the 19th to the 26th of March 2011.''

With all of the activity that is being reported at the moment, its worth keeping an eye on!!

Hey guys, I'm trying to play catch up this morning, i'm only on page 5 of this thread right now. The map is always being worked on. For those who are wondering why i've left out some reports, it's because i'm trying to keep up! I'm adding them as they are being posted. I'm adding all the info that is posted. There is no way for me to know dates/times of these events unless that information is posted for me. The map so far is here: MAP IN PROGRESS

Some interesting comparisons so far.

Here is the map right now (still a work in progress) you can see it's really getting clustered in that same area on the east of the country.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/4742071b5ca3.jpg[/atsimg]

You can go here to investigate the map further, and click on each bubble to read the details of the event, or add your own if it's not there. MAP IN PROGRESS

Now compare that to recent downed aircraft on the disasters map:

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/e922efcd049b.jpg[/atsimg]

While the reports are scattered, the largest cluster is still in the same area and the largest cluster on my map. I took the screenshot yesterday when member DonnaLynn brought this to my attention. Go here to see it yourself. Alert Map

And once more, compare that with this image UtahRosebud posted on page 2:
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/9b9afd4bae66.jpg[/atsimg]
And here's the link to the article Link
Not an exact match with the other 2 maps, but very close. Seems to be an active area of sorts.

Now , just to be clear. I'm not making any assumptions of what this could mean or what those noises were. I just noticed some similarities and decided to share.

And once again, i'm only on page 5 of this thread so far so i need to catch up on reading and adding entries to the strange noise map.

Nice find.
That lines up really well.
Makes me think my earlier speculation about tectonic stresses from an expanding magma layer might be plausible.

Magma, exactly is what my thought is. Don't remember the psychic who said it but I am starting to believe now it's not an earthquake but an ancient volcano coming to life under the Appalachian Mts.

Please change the title of this thread to "heard around the U.S." as the content seems to only include the U.S. - despite many people reporting the noise heard around the WORLD.

F.Y.I. - The U.S. is not 'The World'.

It's just like calling something "World Series Baseball" when in fact it only encompasses American players and teams.

I'm adding them as they are posted here in this thread, if you have something to share, please post it in the exact way I asked on page two of this thread. I am not intentionally leaving out anyone outside the us. It's just that everyone who's posted is in the US. And I'm only on page 5 of this thread so please be patient or go to the map yourself and add it. I know there are other threads on this topic that will list events from uk and canada and ireland but I haven't had time to add those yet as i'm still working on this thread! AGAIN, BE MY GUEST, GO TO THE MAP YOURSELF AND ADD THEM IF I'M NOT FAST ENOUGH. I'M VERY BUSY AND DON'T GET TO SPEND AS MUCH TIME HERE ON ATS AS SOME OTHER PEOPLE DO.

SEE MY ABOVE POST AND STOP ASSUMING ALL AMERICANS THINK THE US IS THE WORLD!
And even with scattered reports around the world and around the US, the thickest trend is along the easter side of the US, so far anyway.

I think 75% of these reports that are coming in of rumblings, that are much distanced from the new madrid fault, are hallucinations due to the large schizophrenic membership on this website. I think the other 20 - 25% are lightning, aircraft, what have you. Scrutinize these posts people, and make sure you have good reason to plot them.

One ATS Member : I'm a hearing a strange noise that could pretty much be anything!
ATS Follower 1 : Me too!
ATS Follower 2 : I also heard a strange noise, but it was about 2 years ago. Somethings up.
ATS Follower 3 : WOW! As I typed this I heard the same noise!

I'll deny ignorance to the day I die.

I'm going to be honest, I can't remember if it was last night or the night before, but I heard it when I was trying to go to bed. I chalked it up to a plane because I thought I was being paranoid. This was in wilmington, de

into your current map, especially since the majority of them have happened within the past 48 hours!
Great job!

That was the thread that caused me to start my map, but i only got through the beginning of it, i was planning on returning to log those events after catching up on this thread.
