I would hope the Japanese that live around those nuclear plants would already have some form of iodine on hand since Japan is known for earthquakes!!

Hi All. I just wanted to add some info concerning the soap and water thing. I don't know what to believe as far as how much radiation is really escaping but I figure if anyone in the government or their lap dog media has their mouthes open, they are probably lying.

Anyway I served on a HAZMAT team at an industrial plant where we had some radioactive material so I've had some training.

Soap and water can't remove radiaition or reverse any damage already done but IT CAN remove any radioactive dust or material from the outside of your body that would otherwise continue to expose you to radiation (e.g. radioactive smoke, water droplets, dust, etc.)

Everyone is concerned about the West Coast of U.S. and Canada, which is understandable, but how is Tokyo fairing? Tokyo is only 150 miles from the Reactors, and if there are dangerous levels of radiation 100 miles out to sea, then what about Tokyo?

I don't think Japan can survive all the devastation it has already undergone, PLUS a radioactive fallout in Tokyo.

I've been bouncing between ATS, FOX, and CNN and I haven't seen any mentions of Tokyo?

Any News?

I understand your point. I am officially on the look out for those pills.

I haven't read through any previous posts but the 24 hour timeframe is untrue. I know there is a chance for it but it would be very low doses of radiation from what I hear. Either way it's scary stuff no matter what.

however Tokyo should NOT be downwind
of the radiation according to the map
I saw earlier. winds should be eastward
toward the Pacific and Tokyo
is southwest if I'm not mistaken.

You sure about that? I got myself a nice drum-load from a trusted supplier online last night (in powdered form but I can use pharma caps to instill the doseage.) It's still avaliable if you know where to look and willing to pay the extra few bucks than outside the pharmacy prices.

The Soap and Water is good advice, I don't know why it was ridiculed?

The precautions to Radioactive fall out are #1 stay indoors and try to avoid it. #2 under no circumstance inhale it. #3 Cover your skin, eyes, mouth, etc. if you have to go outdoors. #4 If it contacts your skin, wash with soap and water, and some people say Baking Soda helps as well. #5 Take your Potassium Iodide and Baking Soda to help protect Organs and flush system.

That is about all you can do, but the main point was Soap and Water is one of the most important steps. Get it off your skin and clothes, and don't drag it back into your home.

Tokyo is downwind of a High Pressure center which WAS sat over the Honshu bay, anyone in meteorology knows High Pressure area's rotate clockwise and the Japanese have been desperate to hide this fact. The past 2 days winds have been circulating offshore from the Fukushima plant before rotating around the HP, and being carried back inland Westerly towards the South of Japan.
