Your ideas could be helped so much if you only had a bit better diction (that would translate writing ability, grammar and spelling).

As for the "concealed carry permit", which I believe you are attempting to address, one must be an adult to apply for one (probably leaving you out). Additionally, one only NEEDS a permit to conceal carry. Everyone has a right to open carry or have a gun in their home, WITHOUT a permit.

Gun ownership is part of the American way (and intended only for adults), so perhaps you'd be more comfortable when you become "of age" in, oh say Canada where you could blissfully be devoid of the mean old gun. Now go along and play with the other children please.

I don't even own a gun, and I'm 100% against what you just said in reality, but on paper I see where your goin with this.

Guns are not the problem, society and our evolution is. We do not live in a world with enlightened people, we live with many savages and people that are crazy that do not care if they kill you to take the $40 bucks out of your pocket. Just because it's never happened to you, does not mean it does not happen, I lost $560 bucks one day from being robbed, I was not doing anything wrong besides going to work, so who are you to tell me I cannot defend myself because your life has been taken care of and violence is not an every day thing for you?

I love guns. I own guns. I shoot them and clean them and keep them safe.

I don't carry them around. I don't break them out to show my friends. In fact, most people don't know I own guns.

I use them when I feel like they've been put away for too long and may need to be clean. Otherwise, they'll stay where they are until I NEED them. In other words ... until I have to defend myself and my family or property or when I need to feed my family.

Guns do not make me a tougher man. They do not add to my image anymore than my old beat-up car does. They are a tool ... much like the shovel in my garage.

NO you're not... you're gonna sit there while these looters tear up your house while one holds a gun to your head, and while others rape your daughter and wife which that ''intelligent brain'' got you. With respect: honestly you do not sound like someone who needs to carry a gun. While there are certainly those who carry out of a need to feel "macho," most responsible carriers understand that carrying is a huge responsibility and not something to be taken lightly.

One of the cardinal rules of carrying is to NOT act "macho" with your weapon. Doing so is the surest way to end up on the wrong side of the jail bars or at worst needlessly killing or being killed. Actions like that always discredit responsible carriers as well, and it is infuriating.

I carry to protect my family, to protect myself, and to protect my fellow man should any yahoo decide to go off his rocker and start shooting up the place. It is a huge responsibility and one that I gladly accept.

It does sound like you need to continue to "tame the beast." You should stop worrying about appearing macho at all. The most respectable man is one who is comfortable in his own skin with nothing to prove to anyone other than himself. Instead of working on being macho, work on a bit of humility. And please, for the sake of all of us other responsible gun owners, don't buy a gun until you mature a few more years, I'd hate to see you on tv for doing something stupid.

Your "human mind" can be opened like a can of beans by a well placed round. Anyone carrying a gun for the reasons you describe should not be carrying a gun at all, but anyone thinking their intellect can outmanuever a bullet is going to make for an easy target.

Guns are just tools. I have been in many fights, while carrying my gun, and never considered pulling it out. I have even been questioned by police, while carrying my gun, during a fight, and I went on my merry way without incident or charges.

Guns are a deterrent and a means to stop a would-be attacker when you fear for your life. They should not make you bolder or harder or more macho in any way. In fact, I am much more patient and I try at all costs to avoid any confrontation when I am armed, because of the potential for escalation. When I am not armed, I might speak my mind a little more freely and readily jump into a fray!

Intellect is highly important, so are self-defense skills, so is a cool head and a strategy, and so is carrying a gun as a last resort. None of those things can substitute for another, you need them all.

Hey I own a tec-9 its great if you know what your doing. I personally like having the option to blast off 75 rounds from a pistol. The tec may not be pretty but it is well made and serves it purpose it's just too bad it has such a dark image

You do realize that revolvers havent needed to be cocked since the 1870's? all you do is pull the trigger...well unless you go out of your way to buy a single action. Almost no one carries a gun that needs to be cocked before each shot. Im sorry but if you walked up on me with a spray can and a lighter I'd have atleast 3 bullets in you before you hit the ground. I'm not trying to be a macho man but a large amount if not most gun owners practice pulling our guns and hitting the target as fast as humanly possible.

Another defense mechanism commonly utilized by supporters of gun control is denial. Denial is simply refusing to accept the reality of a given situation. This explains why my e-mail correspondent and many other anti-gun people persist in believing that their neighbors and co- workers will become mass murderers if allowed to own firearms.

People who legally carry concealed firearms are actually less violent and less prone to criminal activity of all kinds than is the general population. A person who has a clean record, has passed an FBI background check, undergone firearms training, and spent several hundred dollars to get a permit and a firearm, is highly unlikely to choose to murder a neighbor. Doing so would result in his facing a police manhunt, a trial, prison, possibly capital punishment, and the destruction of his family, job, and reputation. Obviously it would make no sense for such a person to shoot a neighbor - except in self-defense. Equally obviously, the anti-gun person who believes that malicious shootings by ordinary gun owners are likely to occur is not in touch with reality.

I own several guns, as stated they are tools and only needed when defending yourself against someone else with a weapon or multiple attackers in which their is no choice.

But i do not brag about my guns,, just look in this thread you see many people come off like its something to brag about..

Well, I do most of the "mans" work around here while my husband loves to cook and he does the laundry so I guess that all makes since. Oh, he carries one too, darn-it there goes that theory.

A crippled/disabled man would be at a disadvantage if he was attacked by someone with 2 good arms and 2 good legs. So yes, he should be able to shoot an unarmed man.

If he has a 9mm pistol with rubber bullets he's not going to kill anyone unless it's point blank range. Neither would he kill anyone who broke into his house if he shot the man with a .410 shotgun shooting rock salt at someone or rubber balls.

He'd just make them run for their life, not kill them. We have lots of choices now for non lethal shooting of bad guys. Taser pistols, directed energy weapons....this is where we're going. There will always be bad people trying to kill us. Much of the world wants to kill Americans. If you don't want to protect yourself you're free to take that choice and allow yourself to be killed. Put a sign in your front yard saying "this home is gun free" to celebrate that choice. Don't be shocked when you're robbed at knife point by a bunch of illegals in the middle of the night and made their enjoyment tool for the night as well. They'll enjoy your decision to not defend your own life.
