I beg to disagree, Jesus was asked and he answered the question of "How to Pray."
It is written in Luke 11:
Ok my friend, you disagree.
I am not here to change your mind.
With Love,
Your Brother
I'd like to understand your stance on this matter better. This poster states that Jesus did indeed instruct us on how to pray and then goes to back it up with scripture. How is it you can disagree? Do you disagree with the bible? Do you contest that the bible is the uncorrupted Word of God? I have agreed with your statements up until this point so I'm curious about your response.
You attribute much to Christ that he never said. He never told anyone how to worship the father. He said that when you pray, do so privately that no man will see you do it. He said the Kingdom of God is within you. Find God how you wish, know him as he reveals himself to you. You are his child. Nothing stands between you and the father. Christ said he was the way to the father, no one comes to the father except through him. Do you think that is his body? Do you think he meant his name? I knew a Jesus once. He certainly wasn't the way to the father. What Christ was telling you is that you go to the father with humility, innocence, purity of thought.
You do not pray for your own vanity. How are you going to get to something as spectacular as the being within all things known and unknown if you are not willing to be humble in your approach?
You are a Child of God. You can talk to the father any time you wish. To hear him, you must be humble like Christ. Otherwise all you hear is your own ego.
Luke 11
1And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3Give us day by day our daily bread.
4And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
5And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
6For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
7And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
8I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
9And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

You fool! Do you know that the Word of God is a light unto our feet? It is faithful and true? It gives wisdom to the foolish. "the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. "
I challenge you to challenge your entire perspective and read one Proverb everyday from the Book of Proverbs, for 30 days; the Word speaks for itself. Once you are convinced of that try the Gospels.

I see what you mean about cash now , it takes sacrifice but ultimately means freedom , its a more old skool way of living like before man became enslaved by cash .
I expect you feel happier in life now as a result .

Have you ever been to England my friend or Spain ?
Peace to you .

has anybody seen this:
www.youtube.com...
Ideas and beliefs are not tangible objects. So with that its every mans belief to himself.
Nobody can say this or that for sure. But this vid make my eyes stand wide open
Now I personally think that the scripture provided only supports my comments. If he disagrees, that is his choice, but all I see is agreement between the scripture and what I said. And, if that scripture does not clearly back up my position, here is one that is more obviously in support of what I posted.
So you see, I felt it best to just agree to disagree. I comprehend the scripture differently than the other poster and it isn't a debate over who is right or wrong. He has his interpretation and I have mine. Now everyone knows both perspectives and can make up there own mind.
