Here's the thing...

There are terrorists seeking to sneak bombs into US cities...
There are well armed Mexicans who openly proclaim that they are sneaking in to take back parts of this country...
There are well armed drug armies murdering American citizens who happen to be in the way...

AND there are some people breaking the law because they are looking for work...

So, do we leave ourselves defenseless in order to help the people who want to work?

No...the people who want to work can apply for citizenship...they can legally come to the United States and raise a family.

But...if the person refuses to do things legally, and instead takes the same path as the terrorists, Mexican militants and drug dealers???? Well...we can not leave ourselves defenseless...and it's not like we can post a survey about what their intentions are.

The dire situation in Mexico is atributed to American policies which have had the effect of decimating the Mexican peasants livelyhood.
Gmo, the destruction of peasant seed banks, farm subsidies in the US. free trade, Gatt NAFTA etc
Cartels, Alphabet agencies, the mexican military....who work for the money (pesos? doubt it)
Just take a look at who funds the reconquistas, there are a lot of "American" foundations
these foundations get their funds from the same people who funded communism and nazi socialism

this is all about manipulating the American Peeps
As long as there is enough unco-ordination amoungst the people there will be only limited resistance to the agenda.
This kind of controversy creates that kind of confusion

I 100% agree, however I'm sure it's not as easy to apply and become a US citizen as we think. An example, we as American's rely on our credit. If we want a house for shelter, and a better place to live, we cannot without good credit. (if you disagree with this analogy no need to comment on disagreeing, just think about it) We do however need to be strict on boarder control and who we allow into this country, thus why Fort Hood and Fort Bliss are the two largest military bases we have. If there would be need for force, they are between Mexico, and us. A friend of mine works at one of them, and they do nothing but train and sit in their barracks, but there are a lot of soldiers there on "standby" pretty much.

Which is worse: A politician who uses the term "Empty the clip" in a metaphorical sense with regards to fighting against illegal immigration, or the illegal hispanic who never utters a word, but who literally empties a clip into someone?

Part of the point here is that he used this phrase less than a month after a huge national dialog about just this kind of rhetoric in the political arena. Seems he missed that dialog. Maybe you did too? Glad you got the joke, though.

Let's just take him at his word and let it go...

."I didn't think about what happened in Arizona but I wish I had." Beason says. "I think it was maybe the wrong example to use, but honestly I didn't call for violence to solve political problems." (YouTube)

“Look, I’ll take my beatings when I mess up," Beason tells the Birmingham News. "But no way was I urging anyone to do harm to Hispanics or illegal immigrants. I would never do that.” By "empty the clip," he says, he meant that such problems should be tackled with "everything we have, with all of our brain power, our imagination and with courage." Source

...because saying "empty the clip on this problem" is so much easier than saying "tackle this problem with everything we have."

I would like to ask a question. Is there any way at all , that people who make these comments actualy might not have thought particularly hard about what it is they are actualy saying? I mean I wouldnt know about that sort of thing. When Im a rude , objectionable, rabble rousing dirtbag, its deliberate.
I mean what kind of moron attains the power this gent has, and then goes crapping from his mouth that way? I tell you this, if the people in his state dont vote him down next time around, they all need slapping with a 2x4 for gross levels of stupid. It would be exactly as dumb as the British voting the conservatives in for another term next election.... watch this space

Who would you suggest is a better party to vote for? Liebor, after a ruinous 13 years of misrule and waste?

What bothers me are politicians that say something they mean and then go back and apologize. I would rather know someones true feelings than have someone who doesn't back up there words. Even if I disagreed with someone a 100% on every issue I respect them more for standing by their values. Would anyone want a wolf in sheep's clothing? Not me, I want to know where they stand.

Star for you, I think he should have added empty the clip on the illegal drug dealers and trafficers on the border. You all have seen in the new about that 25 year old police chief in Juarez (i believe) was just kidnapped after 2 of her officers were decapitated...why the hell do we not send in our special forces and illuminate these SOB's...?

As our troops are brought home from Iraq and Afganistan they should be sent into Mexican border towns and decimate the drug cartels for killing and destroying so many poor peoples lifes...kinda like the incursions into Pakistan we were not supposed to do anyway...

On the border but still in a different country. Don't fire over the border. Other than that, I can't disagree the borders (and ports) need better protection. But if I'm not mistaken, haven't steps in this direction been taken more so recently than say at the height of the "terrorist" panic?

Gee, um... lemme think. Maybe the answer is anybody who literally empties a clip into somebody is worse than the person who only said it. What kind of thing is that to say?

I dont mean to knock mindspin but it would seem this guy has no clue about what and who is really sneaking across the border. To make such an outlandish claim that its only hardworking poor from mexico is both stupid and irresponsible given the data on the subject. The reason why I'm against illegal immigration is because there is no filter for gangs and rapist and murders also drug peddlers yet for some reason he chooses to believe despite overwhelming evidence that its just good hardworking farm workers. I dare him to allow anybody who wants to come into his house around his kids and wife without first knowing them or their background. Better yet make your house a boarding house for these people if you believe this to be the truth. Other wise get out of the conversation as your speech is nothing more then moral obligations which you your self don't up hold.

heres a fact only 3% of the people who cross the borders are actually farm workers

I just saw the story on the 25 year old female police chief and it made me very angry...with all our military might and power we do nothing to help these people, and I am not talking amnesty, help them get their country back and they can stay there. Limit drug flow to the US would be a perk as well, for some of us...

Just a typical leftist trying make a mountain out a mole hill! Laughable! Very laughable!

It is clearly takin out of context, but that should come as no surprise?! They gotta have something for their only basis of argument, an emotionally driven response.

I ignored it because it doesn't fit. This guy did NOT use it the wrong way or at the wrong time.

To me, and to thousands of others, he did use it in the wrong way.

I don't really care what the "locals" think about what he said...it doesn't change my opinion that this man is a moron.

Like I said...I'm not surprised at all that a Alabama republican or his supporters wouldn't be troubled by him using a metaphor to relate violence towards minorities.

And people are right...he was speaking to his audience...I guess if you are speaking to a bunch of racists...it is acceptable to use racist sayings. I bet he would be great at a KKK rally.

Ok, enough is enough. I was gonna sit tight here and not saying anything but now I can't takes no more!

You wanna sit here and make generalizations of what the man said, fine. You don't agree with it, fine. But don't you freaking sit there and generalize all republicans in Alabama as racists that only want violence to come to minorities. I've read people talking just like you all day on another thread and I've had it. Get your head out of butt.

Makes me angry as well, but we kill police chiefs here too, you know? Going in there would still be akin to yet another illegal invasion of a sovereign nation, which our government won't do. Their government doesn't seem to really want to deal with their crime or help doing so. Too much in it for them at the top. But that's still no excuse for illegal immigration, which isn't solving any problems really on either side of the border.

Star for you. It's ignorant to even go the whole label route at all in my book. Until we start thinking of idiots as individual and deal with them as such and quit painting everyone with a broad brush, we'll just stay stuck in this rut and go nowhere fast.
