I 100% agree, however I'm sure it's not as easy to apply and become a US citizen as we think. An example, we as American's rely on our credit. If we want a house for shelter, and a better place to live, we cannot without good credit. (if you disagree with this analogy no need to comment on disagreeing, just think about it) We do however need to be strict on boarder control and who we allow into this country, thus why Fort Hood and Fort Bliss are the two largest military bases we have. If there would be need for force, they are between Mexico, and us. A friend of mine works at one of them, and they do nothing but train and sit in their barracks, but there are a lot of soldiers there on "standby" pretty much.
But...if the person refuses to do things legally, and instead takes the same path as the terrorists, Mexican militants and drug dealers???? Well...we can not leave ourselves defenseless...and it's not like we can post a survey about what their intentions are.edit on 9-2-2011 by LazerTron because: (no reason given)
."I didn't think about what happened in Arizona but I wish I had." Beason says. "I think it was maybe the wrong example to use, but honestly I didn't call for violence to solve political problems." (YouTube)
“Look, I’ll take my beatings when I mess up," Beason tells the Birmingham News. "But no way was I urging anyone to do harm to Hispanics or illegal immigrants. I would never do that.” By "empty the clip," he says, he meant that such problems should be tackled with "everything we have, with all of our brain power, our imagination and with courage." Source

I would like to ask a question. Is there any way at all , that people who make these comments actualy might not have thought particularly hard about what it is they are actualy saying? I mean I wouldnt know about that sort of thing. When Im a rude , objectionable, rabble rousing dirtbag, its deliberate.
I mean what kind of moron attains the power this gent has, and then goes crapping from his mouth that way? I tell you this, if the people in his state dont vote him down next time around, they all need slapping with a 2x4 for gross levels of stupid. It would be exactly as dumb as the British voting the conservatives in for another term next election.... watch this space

Which is worse: A politician who uses the term "Empty the clip" in a metaphorical sense with regards to fighting against illegal immigration, or the illegal hispanic who never utters a word, but who literally empties a clip into someone?

I ignored it because it doesn't fit. This guy did NOT use it the wrong way or at the wrong time.
To me, and to thousands of others, he did use it in the wrong way.
I don't really care what the "locals" think about what he said...it doesn't change my opinion that this man is a moron.
Like I said...I'm not surprised at all that a Alabama republican or his supporters wouldn't be troubled by him using a metaphor to relate violence towards minorities.
And people are right...he was speaking to his audience...I guess if you are speaking to a bunch of racists...it is acceptable to use racist sayings. I bet he would be great at a KKK rally.

Just a typical leftist trying make a mountain out a mole hill! Laughable! Very laughable!
It is clearly takin out of context, but that should come as no surprise?! They gotta have something for their only basis of argument, an emotionally driven response.
