OMG! This is a first! I have now been called a redneck!
That has NEVER happened before! Thanks!

Agreed Lucidity. People all too often swing that pendulum too far one way or the other when it comes to anything and everything.

BH, welcome to redneckville, my wife has nominated me honorary mayor, lolol.
Little did she know just how redneckish i can be

I don't really care what the "locals" think about what he said...it doesn't change my opinion that this man is a moron.

Which is it? You do or you do not care what the locals think? So since you found some folks who agree with you, then you do care. Had you not, you wouldn't care? Get off the fence and tell us what your point is. You just stated it is your opinion this man is a moron. I said I respect that, so respect mine and the others here. You are gonna stroke out comparing "empty the clip on illegal immigration" to "Southern state senator makes a statement using a metaphor of shooting minorities". You heard what you wanted to hear. So be it. I and others don't see it that way.

Around here being called a redneck or good ole boy is a good thing!

Now, usually only said in a whisper, and behind one's back being called a city feller or gal is not such a good thing.

It never occurred to me that this post would be about the choice of words. I thought this would be a rational discussion on immigration, with one guy suggesting America should taking things seriously...

I do not think I have ever read a more important discussion on immigration.

What I have read over these pages assures me the importance of our future is the need to honor each other in the deepest sense. Each of you spoke in a very pure way. The day is coming when we will have to know each other in a deeper way before speaking our opinions.

We will no longer get away with slinging phrases or "one upping each other". It will not be fashionable to out rationalize or over compensate with intellectual elitism to make a point.

The real litmus test will be, did I connect, did we we understand each other.

I've gotten into trouble with comments like that. But I agree!
It is so funny when someone cries about someone being PC. That usually means they are not, but that's always irrelivent. But back to the topic -
We've got a lot of weird things going on in the US right now. This baiting is also a part of it, but code words are also a part of it. I'm sure you wish that it is just a few wack jobs out there, but have you ever thought for one second that a conspiracy theory is becoming conspiracy fact in front of your eyes? Montauk/Monarch anyone?
Also a thought, you are defending the PTB - will they give a darn when they are victorious and you are confirmed (dead/slave)?

Lucidity, I usually love your threads but this one has turned ugly fast.

I don't blame you a bit. In looking around the board here lately though, it seems it could easily been much worse. There were a few logical and calming posts that made a lot of sense and made it worthwhile for me. Appreciate you stopping in anyway.

This man absolutely knew what he was saying and he knew the reaction he would get. It was about immigration... a subject that seems to live within the theme of innocent Hispanics getting shot. If anybody wanted to discuss immigration without sounding like a violent mouth-breather, that person would think ahead and be a just a tad sensitive to references to firearms.

If he were talking about any other issue like forestry, fishing, Nascar, or whatever it is this guy likes to talk about, then a gun reference would have been completely appropriate. Don't be fooled, this dude knew exactly what he was doing.

People don't seem to understand idioms or metaphors anymore. Just another sign that education is failing the people of America. How can so many people who claim to have been to college just not understand what he meant? Are people trying to play another political game or are they just unbelievably stupid?

I think they are unbelievably stupid since you asked and I think they all ended up on this site somehow. Of course they probably think the same about me.

After Bush the rupugnatlican threw Ramos and Campion in jail on trumped up charges for defending the border I think we all saw what "republicans" really want to do about illegal immigration
They want to give them AMNESTY.
Remenber all the trouble the patriots had to go to to expose and stop that amnesty bill(S)?
or
the border fence built by illegals?
or
The holes in the border fence built by illegals.
This is all about demonifying those second amendment types that are trying to defend America and the constitution.
the evil gun owners...
(The ones Minamato (?, or Mao, someone like that) said defended America from behind every blade of grass with a gun)

PS when Calderone got up in congress and claimed to great applause that America must end guns because the Mexicartels were getting thier guns from legit US gun sellers...of course they ignored the fact that most of the guns are full auto which of course don't come from legit US gun sellers.
( not noticing also for example the navy seal a while back, who was busted selling US arms to cartel types)

Sorry, but this topic is too dumb to even read any further than the raw news story. I got the joke, I understand what he meant, and so do most people whose thinking is sane and sensible. Let's not overblow a dumb joke told by a Republican trying to be cutesy...

Please tell me how idiots like this get elected. He obviously ditched ethics 101 in college.
If anyone of us said this to the media they would have us in custody and we would be questioned by every alphabetical agency in the country. What a bonehead comment.

I'm fine with the comment.

Any rational, intelligent person not blinded by massive amounts of political bias would clearly see that he was not calling for violence.

However, after 9/11...my assumption is that terrorists would try to sneak into the country...and furthermore, there are many, MANY militant Mexicans who's goal is to wage war on America because they believe that parts of America are actually the property of Mexico. Also, there are MASSIVE amounts of drug trafficking coming in from Mexico, and peaceful American citizens are dying in astonishing numbers from these people.

To protect us from this, I want the military on our border emptying clips into people who try to illegally enter our country, It isn't racism, it's protecting our citizens from outside threats. If someone wants to come to America...prove you mean us no harm by doing it legally. If your very first act in America is breaking the law, then you do NOT have good intentions.

Woah... maybe this is a dialog better left for a different thread. For one, I could go hours with you on this and it would totally derail this one. Two... I'm not even sure this is the right site (let alone thread) for that kind of talk.

Defending our borders from an attack is now a touchy subject????

That's right...I believe that it is the responsibility of the government to protect our borders from invasion.

Sorry that you find that controversial.

There is a hundred times the border security on the Canada Us border then the US Mexican
and we Canadians aren't invading the US

PS we did switch to Bio metrioc health cards in Ontarion to cut down on the hundreds of thousands of fakes held by Americans...in order to focus a little more on the people who actually pay for it.

The plan is to demonify Gun owners because as hitlker did you can't have a tyranny till you take the peoples guns.
To take the peoples guns you have to demonify the gun owners like they have done with cigarettes
( which is partly why they took your cigarettes away)
Like ciggies they don't tell you about the majority of Japanese men who smoke, and because of diet and exercise have almost none of the cigarette releated diseases the AMA claims are caused by Cigarettes

PS
this the same spin stuff that Edward Bernaise used to con women into taking up smoking, then they used to take them away then used the smokes as an excuse for all sorts of evil changes.
